Knock knock! Can I come in?
Some of you might know me.
I haven't posted since the less than 12 weeks thread, because after five miscarriages I really haven't felt secure about things, but as I will be in the third trimester on Tuesday, I thought maybe things are OK!
I'm 26 weeks, due end of July, with my second child although we haven;t found out the sex.
Our daughter is four but will be five when the baby is born as her birthday is July 22. I had her at home and am planning another home birth.
Apparently my bump is "tiny" according to everyone who has an opinion!
I'm finding it hard this time, with back ache, nausea (still), and very tired, plus there is no distraction of buying things as we already have everything.
What do I need to know about posting here? I'll try to keep up with all the posts but it might not be possible. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Skint chick, I'm so pleased to see you here
You too Bumble!
Thanks so much for the link Glimmer
I feel I'm still recovering from last weekends DIY, and feel like my bump has grown a lot in the last week... I keep forgetting to take a photo.
I picked up the Clair De a Lune Cot bedding set I won off eBay... It's huge., more for a cot-bed, but really nice. I had a nice time filling the basket it came with with the wipes, cotton wool etc I already have.
Someone recommend Cussions Mum & Me Bump shampoo ages ago, I got a bottle from tescos back then & have to say I Still love it. My hair is thick & gets oily quickly, but this shampoo gives body without weight, and helps it be wavy not tangly, I'm so impressedI also just found it in Savers for only £1.50 so bought another + the conditioner.

Hey skintchick! Nice to see you over here, I'm glad to see things are progressing nicely for you!
We've just got back from a and e after I accidentally electrocuted myself trying to rewire a plug.
Princess is all fine but we were advised to go by out of hours midwives and they want me to go to maternity assessment suite tommorow morning for more checks. I was worried it had sent me into labour but the pains have subsided now so hopefully she's staying put for now!0 -
Blimey, Mary! Leave plugs to other, non-pregnant types!
Looking on the bright side, we're now at the stage where the baby wouldn't even be considered premature if born now, as we're past 37 weeks. But I'm glad she's staying put.
Nice to meet you skint, hope all goes well as you carry on through the third trimester....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
welcome skintchick
Mary that sounds awful! hope your tests go okay this morning, I agree with neverdespairgirl leave the rewiring to somebody else! ha.
went to the midwife yesterday for my 31 week appointment. it was the stern, scary one who was rude to me last week when I went handing my MRSA swabs in! she was okay though, but I wouldn't like to see her all the time, especially in labour I think she'd be terrifying ha.
I have to go and have a GTT test next week because the sugar in my urine was high again. BUT she did say my bump was measuring dead on what it should, so that's a little bit reassuring.
does anybody understand those charts that they plot your bump size on? are you meant to carry on following the lines up and up until the end? I scared myself last night by coming to the conclusion I'm due a 9lb 10oz baby  but I think iv just done it wrong...hopefully..0 -
Wow Mary! I hope you and bubs are ok. Sounds scary. Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0

hello yes she's all fine thankfully! I went to the MAS Unit this morning and got hooked up to a machine to monitor her and they were happy that she is ok so they let me go!
It was really embarrassing having to explain what had happened though, I feel so stupid! I'm just glad she's ok
we took a bag to the hospital last night in case I was in labour and I was running around trying to remember what to pack - me and my hubby were shouting "babygrows"...."nappies"".....er...."what else does she need?" at each other and when we thought we were ready to go I had to send my husband back indoors to get her car seat! honestly we're hopeless, heaven knows how we've managed to successfully raise a child for the last six years! :rotfl:
FF sorry to hear that you had to see the mean midwife again, if you get her in labour definetly ask for someone else! one of my friends had a similar thing in her pregnancy with a consultant and he turned up in the delivery suite announcing that he was there to deliver her baby.
She took the gas and air out of her mouth, looked him in the eye and said "no you're effing not!" and went back on the gas and air! She then got a nice motherly type lady instead and was much happier!0 -

Probably because you do already have one - my mother reckons her first child (me!) slept in a hand-crafted cradle, but her fourth (Bruv) got shoved in any handy drawer or place where he'd fit, and had to drag himself up!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
