Loving the bump pic Samtoby! Puts mine to shame def! Ill have to try and take a pic...

My sleeping has got worse - spending most nights on sofa now and having to nap in day. I have a constantly blocked nose :( Horrible - having to breath through my mouth. Spoke to Dr but as Im so near end now he is reluctant to prescribe anything.....Apparently its a known condition that disappears a few days after having baby. All I know is that if I have 5 weeks of this to look forward to - then RAH!!! xx
  • Raspberry - I hope you're less worried now? Do give the hospital/midwife a call if you're still worried though.

A better life - I'm so sorry for your friend's loss. How are you getting on?

VickyVicks - I hope you're feeling better after your hospital visit? I'm glad it had posatives as well though. You've made me feel guilty though! I sew but havnt made my baby anything yet!

NDGirl - that's lovely! The fabulously fiesty old lady next door has knitted us a beautiful shawl, so if my mother doesnt manage to find the one she had with me (quite likely, she's more disorganised than i am!), I will have that to bring baby home in.

1 Day AATime - wow! Congratulations!! such a lovely name, and it's so very nice to hear a dad sounding so happy and proud :)

Samtoby - I'm glad your growth scan went well.
EDIT: That's a lovely photo Sam, you look realy well :)

Thanks. I must say I have a terrible blocked nose when I try and sleep - my partner says I snore really bad in certain positions lol.

I hope its the same for me.

I am finding that I sleep better in the day than at night. I am up and down like a yo yo! xx

    Good morning ladies,

    Hope everyone is feeling well.

I have an appointment with a midwife at Surestart this morning to talk though any questions I have about labour and post birth. The plan is to basically bombard her with questions about sleeping and breast feeding. My NCT class covered breast feeding but actually I would quite like to find out about combination feeding and the best way to introduce that.

After that we then have a midwife appointment where I am hoping to find out whether I have an infection. The hospital said they would ring me with the results but they haven't. Hoping that they have passed the results to the midwife.

I have noticed this morning that my boobs have started getting leaky. Not enough to warrant a breast pad but a little bit. Hoping it is a sign she is on her way. My bump is getting really heavy and uncomfortable and I am ready for her to make her appearance. Unfortunately at 37 weeks I still have some time to go. Is there anyone else that has reached the fed up og being pregnant stage? For me I just can't wait to have full movement back I think x
  • As for me, I slept all of Tuesday!! (well, not 2 hrs at lunch and 4 hrs in the evening when i managed to get to birthing class). The 5 day 'weekend' of DIY must have really taken it out of me. This DIY included re-roofing the shed (garage size), including the rafters, which although i wasnt doing any heavy lifting did mean so much going to and fro and sorting and organising. I threw away so much stuff!! :) Plus I rebuilt 2 vintage kitchen units to give us a little storage in there.
My friend said I'm 'nesting'... hum... maybe!

I've also gotten to grips with the Local Collection Deals feature of MSE, (after being inspired by a lady on the 12-24wk thread), and yesterday secured myself 2 Brand New Little Lamb cloth nappies with 4 fluffy liners, and unused roll of disposable liners & waterproof bag for 8.00! (if ordered from website it'd be over 25pounds) Yay!! The lady was rather pregnant, so I suspect it was an unwanted baby shower gift.

And today I'm picking up an 'all in' bedding set (sheets to curtains and everything else aparently) for 10.00; it's Clair De Lune brand so would have been expensive new.

    * I've also added the very sensible line to my birth plan that someone here sugested (that husband, baby and I get alone time after the birth is cleaned up), so thank you for that. I REALLY appreciate you all letting me worry in your direction... it REALLY helped me figure out the bits of anxiety I could address.

VickyVics - I hope your results are clear.

I 100% feel like I am ready for my little lady to make an appearance. I can't sleep well as my bladder has lost all capacity and I feel like everything is 'hanging' between my legs - does that make sense - think it is as her head is so low down.

Could be 6 weeks still for me though.....scary thought!

Samtoby - you have a lovely bump. I should put up a picture of my bump as well. x
  • Thanks all for your input. I'm still not feeling a huge amount of movement but I did have some last night. I gave my tummy a jiggle when I was lying in bed and received a kick almost immediately so think perhaps she's just being lazy!

Those of you that sais you'd been told to lie on your side and anything less than 10 kicks in an hour to call hospital - I don't get that many kicks or movements anyway. My placenta is more round the front so I didn't feel anything till around 21-22 weeks and have only ever seen my tummy twitch once when I felt a real deep kick. I do have quite a bit of tummy padding myself too :)
  • Raspberry - I was similar, with an anterior placenta & collapsed stomach muscles. I've been told to keep an eye on what movement is "normal for me".
