  • Firey you look fab!! such a nice neat bump!

    *************

I wasnt sure where to post this question, so have put it in the Benefits section of MSE...

I'm confused what to do regarding ending Conts based Jobseekers (was made redundant just after becomming pregnant), and starting Maternity Allowance (my advisor believes I am entitled as I worked during the qualifying period)

This is a link to the thread I started:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/65340157#Comment_65340157

Any advice / experience would be greatly recieved.
Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.
  • Hello ladies,

Can I join you please? I'm nearly 29 weeks now and only just plucked up enough courage to officially graduate from the 12-24 weeks thread (wimp!). I've been lurking for a good while, though.

For those who don't know me - I'm bumblebee and this is my first pregnancy. I'm due in July and *probably* having a girl (sonographer wasn't sure!). I have a chronic medical problem in my kidneys/bladder which mean this is a "high-risk" pregnancy, so we're really pleased to have got this far along safely. I have to travel hundreds of miles to see a specialist every 4 weeks or so, and I'm taking medication which isn't advised in pregnancy, but so far my test results all look good and my consultants are happy. But I'm pretty paranoid - didn't tell anyone except our parents that we were expecting until after the 20 week scan, and I still haven't told anyone except my OH (and HR department at work) when the actual due date is!

Anyway, just thought I'd come and say "hello!".

    Bumblebee x

Oh go on then, since we're throwing in bump shots! 32+4 today!

    [IMG][/img]2014-04-24181239_zps9aeef308.jpg

Had my growth scan this afternoon following my worries re movement last week, and all is well (I should have known, I've been fortunate to have a great pregnancy so far with only minor complaints, my anxiety just gets majorly in the way at times). Our lil HB is measuring within limits on all accounts, weighs about 4lb 3oz at the minute, and my waters/fluid or whatever they call it is exactly in the middle of the range!

Also, he is head down AND my low lying placenta is no longer low lying! Woop!

Welcome Bumblebee! So pleased all is well to date. I hope nobody minds, but I'm posting the link to our FB group again since we are now about a 80:20 ratio of babies to bumps! I think you just have to wait for an admin to approve you, anyone correct me if I am wrong x

My bump is getting really heavy and uncomfortable and I am ready for her to make her appearance. Unfortunately at 37 weeks I still have some time to go. Is there anyone else that has reached the fed up og being pregnant stage? For me I just can't wait to have full movement back I think x

    Hello due-date-mate,

At exactly the same stage as you, I feel exactly the same! I've had no swelling of hands or feet at all, until the last couple of days when my feet and ankles and swelling by the evening, and there feels like an awful lot of me in the stomach area, too.

just delurking, I'm reading ahead as I'm 'only' 18weeks +3 but would be interested in the facebook group if it's not too early to join only I'm getting an error message when I try and use the link.
I'm enjoying reading about what I've got to look forward to in the next few weeks, and hear peoples news. Hope you don't mind me asking.

Hello Bumblebee, nice to see you here and glad things are progressing well, great news.

    Loving the bump pics!

Hugs Raspberry, glad your bump has been moving.

Sam, good luck with your assignments, you sound like you're cracking through words lately :) I've just got a few corrections to do, waiting for the list to come through and crossing my fingers there's nothing extra on it that they didn't mention already.

Glad all is well with your scan Sunshine.

Mary, the whooping cough immunisation is recommended to give baby protection until their own immunisations, and can be given up to 38 weeks pregnant.

Thanks Mrs Happy, I have an appt on saturday so will ask about it then, I just have never been told anything about it so it's strange for me to hear that it's apparently pretty standard. Good to know that you can still get it, I thought they might say there's no point as it's all nearly over now! :)

Has someone else given birth and I've missed it? seem to have moved up the list AGAIN! only a few weeks ago us date triplets were all in the twenties, now it's the top ten!

To those talking about maternity bras, I got some really comfy ones in the m and s sale today. £5.99 for two down from £29.50! :T

they're a bit Pat Butcher-esque though (I don't know who on earth thought that leopard print maternity bras would be a good idea!) but I'll take comfort over style right now! If there's an m and s near you I'd reccommend having a poke about in their sale section x
  • welcome bumblebee! so glad everything is going okay so far :)
