  • Gah! I broke a tooth :( on blueberry yogurt!! How is that even possible?! I had a checkup just over a month ago & he said they were all fine apart from one. I had to miss that appointment though as I was in hospital... BUT it's not that tooth which has broken!!

I'm currently bidding on some eBay local items.... Unused asda newborn nappies & a workbench for husband. Missed out on a maternity skirt by 20p :( am gutted about that as I used to always wear skirts but most don't fit now (30+6), & didnt seen any in the sales when I got my under bump jeans.

Changing bags - I saw some nice ones in TKMAxx, but am considering a Chinese cheapy from eBay... I like the giraffe on it :) I'd love a Pink Linings or JoJo mama bebe one but don't think I can justify the cost.

NDG it looks like you're having a lovely time away :)

Hi littlemiss, welcome to the thread :)

    Hello ladies

I can't believe it but I'm finally joining the big pregnancy thread! I never thought I'd make it to this point so I'm really excited!

I know a few of you from my ttc days and from the Facebook group  but for those who don't know me after 2 mc and 15 months of trying I'm so happy to be here! My due date is the 16th of August which will be almost exactly 2 years from when this crazy journey began and I'm team pink

    hugs to all

Hello little miss up and welcome!girls far outnumber boys on here, so you and your little miss (well, I guess she must be little little miss up!) are in the majority!

Robots that sounds awful! were there big bits of blueberry in the yoghurt? maybe that's what your tooth has broken on?

at least your dental treatment will be free as you're pregnant, every cloud eh! I hope you're able to get an appt to be seen quickly, tooth pain is the worst!

Samtoby I have a lot of twinges and pains but the midwife said it was normal for this stage of pregnancy. I really thought the shock had sent me into labour on friday as my lower back was hurting and I was having contractions but thankfully it died down.

I don't have time to slow down unfortunately as I need to earn as much as I can before she arrives, once I'm on maternity pay I won't have enough to be able to run the house and have two children so I'm trying to save as much as possible while I can still work.

NDG it's nice to see some pictures of Isaac as he is now, he looks like a lovely boy :) does your mum make wedding cakes for a living, or just a one off? my son went back to school last week, I think we are a week ahead of london as we are in the east midlands x

Samtoby - I don't really do due dates, but stick me on the bottom of the list for the end of July and I am Team Yellow.

I'm feeling really emotional and overwhelmed at the moment. Been thinking a lot about my lost babies and feeling very sad about it all.

Sorry not to do personals but I feel so drained right now.

On the plus side baby is kicking around happily and everything seems to be fine. I got my fit to fly letter from the GP and will be heading off on holiday in less than two weeks. She included a note about me needing to take my Clexane onto the plane as hand luggage, so hopefully they will be OK with me carrying 8 syringes!

Has anyone flown when pregnant? Any tips? I know I have to avoid the X-ray machine and have a pat-down instead. Anything else?

Isaac had 3 full weeks off, most of the London schools around here were the same, back either tomorrow or Tuesday.

My mother does make wedding cakes / jams / marmalade and so forth for an income, but this particular one is for sister #2's best mate, so the mate's paying for the ingredients and that's it. A bargain for mate, my mother's absolutely wonderful at it, all those hand-made sugar flowers, that kind of thing, as well as the actual cakes.

I do quite like Isaac, but I'm biased. But I find him fun to be with, and good company. Just as well, really, we're stuck with each other!

skintchick I'm sorry to hear you're feeling low. It's hard to be pregnant again after having losses as the happiness of having a baby can be twinged with sadness at remembering your lost babies.

You can feel guilt at feeling happy for being pregnant when they are gone and knowing that everything that there is to look forward with a new baby won't ever happen with the lost ones. It really is hard but they wouldn't want their mummy to be sad, they want you to be happy with their new sibling. New babies don't ever fill that hole caused by losing babies, but they really do go a big way to helping you heal. I hope this brings some comfort to you, feel free to pm me if would like to xxx

NDG your comment "I do quite like Isaac" made me laugh! of course you like him, he's your little boy! Me and Dylan are like best friends, I love him to pieces and particularly when he was a baby we were inseparable, I rarely put him down even when he was asleep!

I worry that when the new baby comes we won't spend as much time together, even at eight months gone we still crawl round soft play centres and go swimming together and a few weeks ago he challenged me to an obstacle course at a local park (I let him win, honestly!)

I love that bond with him and I think that's partly why I wanted another boy, so that a new boy could just slot straight in with us. He is so excited about having a sister though, he keeps rubbing my belly and talking to her, saying how much he loves her, it brings tears to my eyes :)

Earlier he told her a joke and paused before delivering the punchline as if he was waiting for her to answer pmsl! Honestly he's wonderful I'm so proud of him :)

sorry I've just realised that I've gone totally off track! but it was in response to your comment about Isaac, he really does seem like a lovely boy, and with you for his mummy it's no surprise why :)
  • Mary & NDG - it's so lovely to hear you chat so happily about your sons. I've been having wobbles about how a baby will change our lives and reading that / seeing those pics makes me smile :)

Purcy - welcome to the thread! So nice to see you here :)

Mary - it was Yeo Valley organic probiotic yogurt, so should be good for me! It's quite uncomfortable so I hope I can get an appointment tomorrow.

As for me, I found another skirt on eBay, bid & won it! & it's costing less than I lost the other one :) plus I won a maternity wrap top, so I'm feeling rather pleased tonight.

Hope everyone else has had a nice weekend :)

Morning! Off to see MW this morning - my appts have gone out of schedule because they are Monday appts and bank hols fall on Mondays :) Hoping she doesn't take blood and investigate my iron - I prefer denial.
Girls back in school - so can get on with stuff today..... am feeling relatively motivated.
Think weve decided on a girls name :) We have always had a boys name - from the time of DD1 but girls were proving trickier as I had used up a few names I like on DD1 & DD2 first and middle names!

Everyone else sorted on the naming front??

Morning! hope the mw appt goes well Sophiasmum. We are certainly not sorted on the naming front! We decided on a girls name early on, and had several other girls names too, then we found out lil HB is a boy and we have really struggled! I *think* we are down to a shortlist of three now (and my favourite one my parents hate!), but I still keep looking for ideas. I'm queen of procrastination and have no idea how or when I'm going to make an absolute final decision!

I'm watching Jeremy Kyle (lol) while writing a to do list for today. OH has gone to work after getting over his man flu. He managed to drop his (expensive) phone down the toilet at weekend AND stood on and irreparably broke his glasses this morning, so 2 costly jobs for me to sort today

I'm going to attempt to get most bits for a hospital bag today, including the bag itself! Have a good day all xx
