    Morning Ladies,

I have updated the list, I do hope I have not missed anyone out.

sunshine81 - I am watching Homes Under the Hammer while updating here, then I better write my list for today. I am finidng I am keeping on top of housework ok, by seem to have all these little jobs that involve going out into town that I just don't want to do! Oh well, got to get over it and get them done!

sophiasmum - Hope Midwife goes ok, we have one name and if its not a 'she' and the name doesn't suit we don't have anything else! Have you?

RobotsinDisguse - What bargains on ebay! - I have some bits listed at the moment trying to get rid of bits we don't need.

marywooyeah - My son is my best little friend. My partner is my best big friend. I had Toby very young and I don't really remember a time with out him - I never had much money but we spent so much time doing things together that were free and thats what it is all about.

neverdespairgirl - Lovely pictures, good action shot! Is he excited?

skintchick - Welcome, its clearly been a long journey for you and I can understand why you would feel how you do. I had added you to the list and just put 'End of July' hope that is ok.

purcy81 and lilmissmup - Welcome to the big thread!

    And heres my big 'baby'

sexki11en - How are you getting on - you are the first baby due in May on the list!

I know! It's really quite scary. 39w today  I've been off work for 4 weeks now (I had loads of a/l to use up) and I'll admit to being a bit bored now. I'm pretty much housebound as I don;t drive and SPD and Sciatica (along with my sheer bulk now) means it's almost impossible to walk to the bus stop.

But baby is healthy and seems happy enough in there so I can't complain - I am ready for her to be here though. I've had empty arms for far too long now.

Not sure if it was brave or just stupid but we drove 2 hours each way to a Christening yesterday (at 38+6:eek:) Hospital bags and car seat came with just in case but all was fine. Was also able to pick up an isofix base for the car seat that we won on ebay for £35! That was the last of the things we really need although I'm sure I'll think of more in my boredom lol.

Hope everyone else is doing well - I've read every day, I just don't post much. Not sure if this will work but here's my 38+1 bump last week. I'm pretty huge but I have a really short torso so have looked bigger all the way along. Still looking high, although she has dropped - there's no room for her to drop any further!

And a VERY surprise miracle in March 2017!
  • Hi all

I was just wondering if I can join please? Samtoby, my due date is 28.06.14 and we are team pink. This is baby number 3 for us.

For those with older boys, I totally understand, my 2 boys are the most exciting (and mischievous) little things ever.

Have to have another scan at 36 weeks for a growth estimate and to check the low lying placenta. I think I remember that a few people on this thread have had low lying placentas too?

Everyone looks so nice in their bump pictures! I feel like a total mess at the moment!

Hope everyone is having a good day xx

Yay I'm no longer bottom of the list!! Welcome everyone new & am loving the bump pictures!
We've had a lovely week off & few days in Ireland. Was so nice to have time with my big boy who is just 3 - he was so well behaved so I think having all the attention must have helped - makes a good point to remember once baby arrives.

Is there a list of freebies / things worth signing up for somewhere? I'm pretty sure there was 3 years ago, but couldn't find anything - prob looking in the wrong place!

well had my midwife apt - booked in again for when Im 37 weeks....however she took my blood to check iron levels :( and confirmed what I already thought - if Im still low Ill have to go to the main hospital for birth rather than the birthing centre :( Not ideal - as the main hospital apart from not being as nice as the birthing centre is much further away! 30 mins rather than 7 mins - and I only just made the birth centre last time...

Not panicing yet - she will phone me tomorrow/Wednesday with the iron levels and Im hoping that if theres still no improvement (which I doubt as Im only taking spatone)- that we can find some way around it!!! x

SamToby - We have no reserve boys name! Hadnt thought of that,.,...I have a couple of girls names that I like. I keep repeating them after my 2 daughters names, Sophia & Eva - to get a feel for how it will sound!

My orders have just arrived :) and my changing bag is lovely.... Off to paint the nursery/toyroom now...

I had a low lying placenta at 20 weeks but went back for a scan last week (35 weeks) and it is now high... which i'm really happy about as i am planning a homebirth :-D

Apparently 90% of them move out of the way so try not to worry too much xx

Preggosaurus don't worry yet my placenta was low lying at 20 weeks, I'm now 33+1 and a scan last Friday showed it had moved so worry ye not :-)

Got lots of hospital bag bits today and an actual bag for £4 from Primarni that should do :-) also a couple of charity shop bargains including a book on your child's first year and a wasgij jigsaw for when I get fed up on Mat leave! There's tons of charity shops but hardly any baby bits in any of them, ah well back to eBay later.

Hello all, Hope everyone is feeling well.

I have a bit of a question to ask. I had a letter through the post this morning about the tests for infection I had at the hospital last week. Apparently, when they did the swab they found Group B Strep. They did send a leaflet with the letter and that was great in informing me about how it relates to baby, but it didn't mention anywhere about how this would effect my plans for labour. For example, as I will have to have antibiotics given to me through an antibiotic iv at various stages of labour will I still be able to have a water birth in the midwife led care unit. Has anyone got any experience of this? I will be able to ask the midwife at my next appointment but unfortunately that isn't until the 8th xxx

I'm not 100% certain but I think it rules out a water birth and would require you to birth at a hospital.

    Hi

Yes i had a positive test for GBS in my last pregnancy 5 years ago. The policies vary from trust to trust but here a positive group b strep colonisation immediately makes you high risk which means no water birth and no midwife led unit and lots of monitoring during labour particularly around the times of the antibiotic giving.

I know this probably isnt want you want to hear (or should i say read...) Please discuss with your midwife though as the policy in your area may be different and you may be able to negotiate some terms.

This is controversial (and by no means medical advice!!!) but bear in mind that ANY intervention is your choice and you have the right to negotiate as long as you are making an informed decision.

    I hope this helps.
