    Morning,

Samtoby - sorry for your false alarm but at least the twinges mean that things are moving along. I am still waiting to feel my first bit of anything. Feeling a twinge of jealousy :p x

Preggosaurus - welcome to the board x

Wangdoodle - I hope your results come back ok and the midwife appointment goes well. x

Oh sunshine, its a good job you are having a quiet day. I love to have a wander around the shops but I'm finding it harder and harder to do. I am sorry you are feeling unwell most mornings as well. Hope you feel better soon x

Thank you for all your words of reassurance. I think the chances of it disappearing before birth are quite slim as I am only 2 weeks away, but ah well. As they say what will be will be. I am glad that they found it though because it has made me aware of it. If I am honest I had no idea what it was, let alone keeping an eye out for symptoms in LO. I really do no understand why they wouldn't test all women close to their labour date just to be sure. I will be talking to my midwife about it though. I do prefer the sound of the cannula instead of the drip. I can just about deal with not having the water birth but the thought of having to stay still and bed bound is horrible (I fidget even when I'm not in pain much to my husbands annoyance sometimes lol). I don't mind having the antibiotics I just do not want to be stuck in bed, especially when everyone is telling you that it is far more painful to do that and can slow down labour.

Today for me is another at home day. House is pretty clean and tidy (the result of having too much time on my hands) so don't need to do too much there so instead I am planning on making a pair of dungaree/romper type item of clothing for LO and sorting out the mountain of random letters/bills and junk mail that has piled up. I am terrible for having a quick glance at things to make sure I don't need to do anything then shoving it in a drawer to put away later. Yesterday I gathered all paper from all drawers into an eye watering pile and realised it would probably be a good idea to get it organised before she arrives. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it won't take too long but something tells me I am being optimistic lol.

Hope everyone is feeling well and has a good day xxx

Marywooyeah and Neverdespairgirl - Also just looked at the list and realised that we are 7th, 8th and 9th! It doesn't seem that long ago that we were up there in the 20s/30s. Or should that be down there in the 20s/30s...whichever one it is lol x
  • I see no signs that I'm going to be the first of us, Vicky, so either you or Mary still looks good to go!

I think sometimes you body plays tricks on you but my bump is seriously low and measuring 42 weeks now arrggghhhh! I don't think it is accurate though as it depends on your size before I think. I hope I am not hiding a 10lb'er! Nothing else today so have been pretty busy since 7am!

    - Made bacon sandwiches for DS and OH before they left for school and work (DS gets a bus in the morning)
    - washed all bed clothes from upstairs
    - made chocolate fairy cakes for going to my friends with for afternoon tea later so the children can play
    - made little sheppard pies some to eat tongiht and some to freeze - used all the veg that was nearly off so very MSE lol
    - Refund arranged on something we don't need
    - Friend popped in with her toddler gave her some jam sponge cake and her 18 month old (he is so cute) - do you see I like cake!
    - Arranged roofers to come back and see why our roof is leaking
    - Packaged 8 ebay parcels
    - Bought bits on ebay for my friends baby shower with profits I made from sold items - just in case I can't drive anywhere (we live rurally, so if I wasn't able to drive I would be stranded)
    - Knicker watched sucessfully on every toilet visit to look for any signs ha ha ha ha ha

    To do:
    - Post office
    - Pets at home for chicken feed and dog food
    - Collect DS at 15:15 from school for playdate

Then.....dinner and sleep..... I am shattered from not sleeping last night but its fine I have nothing to do tonight.

sunshine81 - don't they say before labour you can get a dodgy tummy - all to do with clearing out?!

Maybe we are going to have a run of birth announcements soon!

Its so I can maximise tomorrow as DS is going to his Dads until 5pm and the house is empty so I have full intention to spend it in bed sleeping/ resting and watching tv!

    Are you still at work?

I'm not going to court any more, just doing some quiet paperwork stuff, mostly at home. More comfortable now than going to Chambers all the time (which isn't far, less than a mile) but I can easily draft grounds at home with regular stretches.

  • It is different, in every way, robots. But you are still you, you don't become a totally different, non-robots person, you add something wonderful to your life, you don't take anything away from yourself.

I'm not an earth mother type, I work full-time (well, until last week) and I went back to work after Isaac was born, and I will this time, too. I enjoy my work, I'm good at it, it's important to me. But that doesn't mean I don't also love being Mummy, and do my best at that, too

Not every moment is wonderful. There are times with a screaming newborn baby where you can't tell what's wrong, a toddler who has decided that putting shoes on Just Won't Happen, a stroppy 6 year old who is being a royal pain in the neck for no apparent reason, and then teenage years to come....:(

    But it's worth it.

:A Thankyou NDG, it's nice to hear that I'll still be me, but with additions... It's a shame my family aren't giving me the same positivity.

I think you sound like a wonderful mum, and person in general. I was v career minded, until the economic downturn took the funding out of my industry. I'm very highly specialised, recently redundant, & without moving to a big city (which would mean the end of husbands rural management role), I can't see me working in my industry for quite a while to come. So having a child is perfect timing, but is coming on top of me loosing a huge chunk of my identity anyway. (Plus I can't play my team sport once pgnt, so I've lost that identity too...) So your post meant a lot xx

Ditto here, Robots - I played netball twice a week for 3.5 years, and obviously had to pack it in when I was pregnant. But that's not for ever, I fully intend to go back to it once I can.

My mother told me when I was pregnant last time that it's really important to have something regular in your life which isn't "Mummy" or "Mrs X" or work-related. Something that's just you. And she's totally right, and I look forward to going back to playing netball and being just me, as well as all the other things.

When will you stop completely? Do your cases pass to someone else or does it not work like that?

I feel really funny reading my work e-mails - its strange that the people I was working with are now working with my replacement.
