I'm drafting a set of grounds now - was supposed to be able to do them in a relaxed fashion earlier this evening, but got trapped at the hospital when I went for a growth scan for Aethelbald's head. That was OK, but they detected protein and wired me to monitors for several hours, and having established we were both absolutely fine, I didn't get home until well after 11pm.

At least my backup c-section date is still 20th May (40 + 6) as his head allows me to have a go at VBAC so long as I don't go too overdue.

gosh aquamarine monkey what a palava! glad you and baby are alright for now, and hope your metformin starts working and the dizziness goes away. I'm having the GTT on Wednesday, I'm scared now! :)

today I am meant to be at work but I asked if I could take annual leave as I was just having an office day. yesterday was a bad day for me, what with being shattered from the 2 hours of sleep for the past 3 nights, my legs hurting from the cramp, really painful PGP meaning I was limping everywhere, horrific heartburn, I felt absolutely horrible. went to the Trafford centre with OH for tea to cheer me up but ended up crying in the car on the way home as he said all id done was moan all night ha, which just made me think if you were feeling like this you would moan too! everything was hurting! I should have just gone to bed after work really.

anyway today will be spent trying to rest even though housework is calling me :-/

fireyfirenze - Hope your feeling ok. Housework is calling me every day I have this thought - oh the baby might come today so I better clean bla bla bla bla. It is nice having a clean house. Only bits I can't do is lift the big hoover upstairs, make the bed from the clean sheets - I find that so hard - and carry the wash basket up if its full as I can't see the steps.

neverdespairgirl - Sorry to hear you needed monitoring! Glad to hear all is ok for a VBAC. You were up late/ early! DS is back at school and so happy about it not! I think its a good there is a bank holiday this weekend!

AquamarineMonkey - Good to see you post on the thread. I promise there has been no more days like that one! But I am cleaning every day, ' just in case today is the day'.

glimmerofhope - Hope baby has moved on your next Midwife appointment.

Lara44 - Great words of advice! Hope work is treating you well.

RobotsinDisguse - Its only now you are weighing more than conception!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: I have gained nearly 3 stone!

cmace2 - Welcome to the thread!

Well. This is the month my pregnancy journey began. I fell pregnant at the end of May 2013 and I am feeling a tad 'bitter sweet'. I feel so guilty about posting about a miscarriage on a pregnancy thread but I am thinking of that little bean today and it seems strange that here I am a year later waiting for a baby to come. Does that make sense? I don't think I could have stayed sain if I didn't talk on the threads and its nice some people that shared that terrible journey with me are here to share their pregnancies too. (You know who you are).

I know for some the journey here is pain and trouble free and for others it takes years and it might seem like I don't understand how lucky I am that I fell pregnant immediatly my loss but I believe we all suffer pain differently if that makes sense. I am usually very strong but that hit me like a ton of bricks and has made me knicker watch every single day since this BFP.

I have the Midwife today, hopefully all is well. Pressure is so much on my bladder now I have wet myself a couple of times - can't believe I have limited control of my bladder! Its so embarrassing.

I have this strange feeling I am going to go overdue. I can't explain why, I can't justify it but I just have a feeling. My OH's response - 'oh like you thought the baby was a boy?!' - well it still could be, nothing is 100% until baby is in arms!

I do hope everyone has a good day xx

    Hi samtoby,

I've not yet officially joined this thread yet (think I'm still a little bit in denial-26+4), but I too had a miscarriage before this pregnancy and found it difficult not to be paranoid this time round.

I conceived almost exactly the same time of year as I did before which means the due dates are 1 year, 3 days apart. I feel guilty for looking forward to having this little one because I feel I should be mourning my first; I'll never, ever forget her and I think I'll always have a moment on that day to think of her.

It's a very difficult thing to balance the emotions of losing a little one, and being excited for this one too, and then throw in the guilt and it's nigh on impossible!

I also found it much more difficult at the start of this pregnancy knicker watching and just generally being paranoid, especially when it came to the anniversay of the miscarriage.

So, I try to take one day at a time and try to focus and enjoy being pregnant and consider how lucky we are to have been given a second chance-it's unlikely we'll ever have another (IVF success after 5 years TTC).

well ladies - I am still on knicker watch!! Don't think it ever goes away xx
Though like you SamToby - I am feeling a lot of pressure 'down there' - really don't want to sneeze as I know Ill wet myself. Not good! I just went out to buy paint (on a mission) and had to run to the toilets in B&Q as baby was squirming around right on my bladder.

Nursery/ToyRoom almost finished in terms of painting - my brother is coming over later to finish it for me :) Cot needs to go up - though there is debate between me & DH about where the screws are - its been in storage for 4 years!
I literally haven't stopped since finishing work - can think of loads of stuff still to do. Bought paint for the bathroom today - as decided that needed an overhaul prior to baby bathing in there!!

Samtoby - It must be a difficult time for you, but bean will always be in your heart.

AFM Just seen mw and bubba is now head down and quite low. He is measuring 33w @ 31+3 so have referred me for another scan. Also my bloods 2 weeks ago showed borderline low iron and Drs should have called me..they didn't so lots of dark chocolate for me .

Lara they wanted to give me tablets but I asked if I could have until next appt in 2w to try and up it myself. The lovely student mw suggested a couple of squares of dark chocolate guessing they mean the stuff with high % of cocoa.

I'm finding it really hard to sleep which is frustrating, I can go to sleep fine but then I wake up between 3am and 5am and can't get back to sleep, it's so frustrating and makes work hard going :( I just wish there was a reason for it, I'm not waking up because I'm uncomfortable I don't think? usually it's for a wee but then I'm wide awake!

woke up at 5.30am this morning with horrendous cramp in my leg, one symptom I hoped id avoided! had to wake OH up and get him to stretch my leg muscles out because I can't reach my toes properly, my bump is too big! ha :-/

I hope labour doesn't hurt as much as cramp or I am in for a horrible surprise...

    32 weeks today :)

Ah i'm EXACTLY the same ! Awake from 3am to 5am after going for a wee, soooooo frustrating, i used to be able to sleep 12 hours straight without weeing or waking up.

And i had awful leg cramps a few weeks ago, but i think that was due to a lack of potassium and magnesium. Try eating dark chocolate and bananas, and drinking lots of water. i havent had any cramps since i started eating a 'nana a day and dark choc :D it's all for the vits and minerals of course. And OH isnt allowed to touch my chocolate as i've told him it's medecine ;)
