We were told by the sonographer that Bob is a boy
so one of each!
Also means that all the clothe see hoarded from Frog have to go to the NCT sales as they are girly, not hot pink girly but still clearly aimed at girls.
Urgggghhhh, Frog has learnt to wipe her nose on her sleeveobviously copies it from some kid at her nursery. She only goes 1.5 days a week but it's enough for her to pick up all sorts of habits
I've got a load of DS's clothes that I'm keeping till after baby's born just in case we get a surprise instead of the girl we're expecting! I'm going to attempt to girlie-up some of his cast-offs with flowers and maybe colour the blue things purple so we don't have to spend too much.
Wiping noses on sleeves is lovely but I think DS has that beat by wiping his willy on his t-shirt after he has a wee! No amount of reminding him to 'wiggle' or use a tissue is getting though atm.
mysecretalias sorry to hear things haven't got any better hun ((hugs)) I paid for a private room with DS which might be a option if changing hospital turns out to be a bother.
My Dad didn't have his licence when Mum had me smartcat04 Mum loves telling the story about him having to walk home 5 miles, abandoning the car at the cottage hospital and then a couple of days later a lady at the maternity ward window saying ..."there's a crazy man dancing in the field".... the crazy man being my Dad who had just passed his test and wasn't allowed in to tell Mum. :rotfl:Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

:rotfl: Ah, all of these things to look forward to!
MSA- so sorry you had such a rotten experience in hospital. If you can't/don't want to change hospitals, can you speak to the person in charge to organise a private room (for free/reduced considering the bad time you had this week!) for when you go in to give birth?
Smartcat - I've had some fun this week telling people in shops/cafes that the baby should've been here on Monday; they all look a little panicked, as if my waters are going to break there and then! Up to last week I had been getting comments like 'No way are you due in a week!' but now I seem to have grown a lot and people have no problem believing that I'm overdue!
Welcome Icey
Lovely bag Smlsave, aren't you lucky!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Thanks birdie, unfortunately along with the birthing centre the private rooms are also a gamble and if they are all in use when you go in to give birth you can't have one no matter how much money you offer them. So it's all just luck of the draw. Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Thanks becs I was thinking of doing that just can't think about anything at the moment through the tears. I just need the medication and i can't believe given the circumstances I'm having to wait until Tuesday for it. I just feel like curling up in a ball and never emerging. Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Urgh, it sounds like an awful time mysecretalias just adding to your stress. You'd think they'd have sorted those two idiots out rather than allow people who may still need hospital care discharge themselves... take it easy. Same with you samtoby!!
I'm not quite 24 weeks yet but wanted to see if any of you had any advice experience. I've just been for a second scan as they couldn't see lil HB's heart on the first. Anyway that was fine (eventually!) but she said I have a low lying placenta and need to have another scan at 32 weeks. Can/does this situation change? I desperately don't want a C Section (although baby's safety always comes first). I've been having a easyish pregnancy so far and I don't want it all to go downhill now *sob*

Sunshine, as your womb grows the placenta will often shift up with it. Obviously they will check at that scan so try not to worry now.
If it stays low then you may well have to have a section but it will only be because otherwise it's not safe for you and the baby x
MSA so sorry about those idiots in the hospital. The maternity wards are busy and noisy enough without horrible people making it worse for everyone. I don't know if I'd move hospital in that situation or not, you will have a room to yourself for the actual delivery and with any luck you won't need to stay in long either.
I watched my toddler in the car when I was filling up with petrol one day. She spent a while picking her nose, then looked at her finger and wiped it off on the side of her carseat...:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Msa if you can (and even if you cry whilst doing it) please try to call the hospital and get your prescription sent to their pharmacy or one you or DH can get to today/tomorrow. It would be awful if you got all dizzy again. I'm sure they are used to people crying on the phone. Otherwise you could also be stressing out wondering what will happen if you have a funny turn with no medication which will surely only add to your anxiety I know it would for me.
When I had a mc I called my dr to get a sick note & I couldn't hold back the tears, if anything it probably helped!
I'm sure they won't be expecting you to be waiting til Tuesday after all you only left the hospital because of those women!0 -
So the first baby has arrived from our nct group. The lady finished work weds and looks like she had the baby Thursday!0

Hmm, just picked up a message off the answerphone from one of the two midwives at my surgery. She hopes I'm okay and thought they hadn't seen me for a while so saying I should make an appointment.
I saw the other midwife (who is my 'named' midwife) on Tuesday!:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Sorry to hear about your hospital experience MSA - ive never had to go to hospital before so Ive no experience of what its like on a ward . I'm hoping that i wont have to stay in too long when the time comes.
Well Ive not really had a great day today - after complaining of my swelling elephant ankles last night, they seemed to have gone down a bit this morning but they just haven't felt comfortable at all in work despite me wearing my slippers in the office. Later in the morning, they seemed to be swelling up again so my boss agreed to let me work at home for the rest of the day so I could put my feet up (which I am thankfully doing now) - hope it helps the swelling, really dont want this for the next 4 weeks!!!
However, before I was allowed to go home I had to fire my maternity cover!!! I was saying earlier in the week that I'd had to do a discliplinary but was hoping if it came to dismissal my boss would do it, but no, I got the dirty work!! Had to call HR for advice, as I've never fired anyone before, I felt absolutely sick before I did it.
The actual meeting went okay and I think I handled it pretty well - my boss was really pleased I'd done it earning me a few extra brownie points, however still feel pretty bad - and a little stressed that I no longer have any maternity cover!!
Least Im at home now so I can chill out a bit and hubby is cooking a nice tea for us....0
