    Happy Mothering Sunday, all!

I got woken up especially early for the treat of Mothering Sunday cuddles, and got a lovely dark brown summer straw hat with pink ribbons, and a card showing a T Rex bloodily devouring some other poor unfortunate dinosaur.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Well he's obviously making reference to mummy's adversarial advocacy ;)

Aqua that sounds scary! Glad you all made it back in one piece!

I have just hit the ground with a bang. I have had some mild braxton hicks contractions today which has totally thrown me.....Sam you are 33 weeks pregnant...... it really is time to slow down and get sorted.

So project as soon as I go on maternity leave (last day 9th April 2014 whoopppppeeeee) is my hospital bag.

After I have done that we will tackle the nursery, materess situation and getting organised.

I am really struggling with Uni but I have managed to work most of the day today on one essay which I have sent to my tutor for my one chance of critique and then I just have one large 3,000 word one and a reflective essay of 1,000 words which push come to shove I could write with a baby in tow. (End date for all essays is the 12th May - baby due on the 18th)

I think once work is out of the way I will start to relax, I am so tired and could do with naps already but I just keep telling myself a few days left at work will fly. And I will be off and I can use the time to essay write, sort baby things and indeed sleep once those are done if there is any chance. I am so glad I banked holiday so I leave at 35 weeks instead of 37 weeks.

neverdespairgirl - loving the sound of your card!

Eiteews - sounds like the house situation has been stressful - hopefully will all be sorted before baby comes. Not long now.

VickyVics - totally agree with the being ready and the hospital bag - can't believe I am writing about hospital bags - only moments ago it was waiting for the 12 week scan.

marywooyeah - sounds like a funny midwife trip, I have one due Thursday but DS is at school :)

AquamarineMonkey - That time left at work will fly!

Hope Firey had a good birthday!

Last day of March tomorrow and lots of babies due on the list so no doubt it will be busy! I have a real fear of being top 20....and top 10 welllllllll :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    :)

I'm happy to report that both boy and girl were born on March 29th, weighing 6lb9 and 4lb12 respectively. After two days of induction my boy's waters broke at 1am on Saturday morning and both arrived by 12:40, first one with forceps the second with a suction cap. Although they were all prepped for a c section so there were 12 members of the medical team present for the delivery, which scared me no end.
Both absolutely fine and gorgeous and hopefully home bound today.
  • Hi ladies, well 6:45 am isn't a great time to discover that NHS Direct was decommissioned yesterday.
There's another number to call but I don't understand why they needed to change a system that worked.

I've been awake most of the night. I had a v mild temperature yesterday am, but 1/2 a paracetamol stopped it, I've had a stuffy nose for weeks and yesterday it was runny so thought the 2 were related.
Just before bed baby kicked low on my right side 3 times & took my breath away. One made my leg shoot out - I figured a nerve had been hit.
Couldn't get comfortable in bed, sore belly didn't help.
But 3 times in the night I was woken by sudden sharpe pain in the same spot, and 2 of those times I'm not even sure if baby kicked then.
It's prob just a nerve or ligament but I think ill phone up. I'm so tired writing it down has helped.

  • Sorry for not reading back first,

  • I've rung NHS 111. They have told me not to eat/drink & to go to Drs when it opens, they've sent over notes from our conversation.
hopefully nothing to worry about & just baby doing something to a nerve or blood vessel, but needs to be checked out. According to the website I'll try not to be worrying about placenta abruption, appendicitis, or pre-eclampsia.

I hope all is ok - might be baby on a nerve - my belly is very sore and I have problems with my circulation in my legs which causes cramps and sometimes pain!

I know what you mean about writing it down :)
