iv read up on it and it said if you've already had it when you were younger then you are immune, which I did, but when you read the potential complications to the baby if you get it, it's really scary.
think I'll ring the numbers off my green notes and see if I can get some advice about whether I need to stay away or not. I'm really worried :-/
They can check your booking bloods to make sure that you're immune, although the results may take a few days to come through.
I was in the GP waiting room when pregnant, when a Mum and toddler came in with chicken pox. It was only a fleeting contact, but as you say the outcome can be serious, so I asked my midwife if I should be concerned and she offered to get my bloods checked.Mortgage when started: £330,995

We have been away for the weekend - just what we needed after a stressful couple of weeks with the redundancy news etc.
SamToby - my last working day (due to redundancy) is this Thursday! Im going straight onto SMP then...to be honest I cant wait as I have been struggling a bit latelyI have a catalogue of complaints! Can tell Im older in this pregnancy. Still not much of a bump but have got a very sore back which has locked up a couple of times, feels like a nerve is being hit & the iron tablets are making me very nausaus if not physically sick.
No Braxton Hicks here yet - cant really remember having them in my 2 previous pregnancies either.... We will see!
At least finishing Thursday I can actually try to get on with stuff - similar to you Sam Toby....I need to investigate the mattress situation as well!x
Oh - and Ive read back but cant see any updates from Mysecretalias?? Hope you are ok xx

Hi all, not been on forums much since we got home, Michael got home from hospital on Saturday but we have been pretty busy since ( my dads 50th was also Saturday) he's now 2 weeks old and is doing great, he's so content, the night feeds are tiring but other than that not a bother.
He doesn't feed very well which I am hoping improves, his first 7 days he was tube fed so he's still getting used to the bottles I guess, he tires easily. HV was out today and he hasn't gone under his birth weight so that's good.
Tiny baby clothes are still a little big on him lol, he's 6lb 2 atm.

I came into contact with a child with possible chicken pox I told my midwife & she said you're right to check but as you know youve had it you don't need to worry.0 -

I asked my mum and she actually said she couldn't remember if id had it or not which is a bit frustratingbut the midwife is going to check my bloods that I had done when I first got pregnant and see if I'm immune to it. would rather just not go to the house where the child is :-/
con Michael is beautiful! so cute0 -
Morning ladies, a quick update to say that our beautiful baby girl was born in the early hours of mothers day. Ill post more when I get the chance but she is currently in neonatal care after swallowing a lot of meconium, leading to problems with her lungs. Staff are great and Pheobe is a little fighter. X
Congratulations - and best wishes to both of you getting home and healthy ASAP.Tiny baby clothes are still a little big on him lol, he's 6lb 2 atm.

He's gorgeous! Hope you're happily snuggled up with him and that he learns to sleep more soon-ish lol...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Congratulations! Hope Pheobe is out very soon
neverdespairgirl - hope the scan goes well - I really want another.....
Had a growth scan today, and the baby's heart, other organs, stomach etc are all the right size and shape and so forth.
His head is big - 95th centile. Not a surprise, I have a big head, OH has a big head, Isaac does - there is a definite trend here!
If his head gets much bigger, not VBAC - got another growth scan in 2 weeks to check.
It's weird, unlike the 12 or 20 week scans, you can't actually see the baby as a whole, you can only see bits! Isaac came as well as OH, and was fascinated by it....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Oh - how do you feel about about the possibility of no VBAC?3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

A bit disappointed - I'd rather not have another section, but if I'm advised that it's wiser in view of the scar from the previous one and a big head, I'll accept sensible advice. I just hope his head doesn't get too much larger, really....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Sorry to hear you might not get the VBAC NDG. At least it sounds like you're in good hands.
Thanks for sharing the photo of Michael con - he's gorgeous.
We really should decide on a name, given we've known he's a boy for months it's not ideal... Trouble is boys names seem harder - we already have a girls name we both agree on. Typical!Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0
