  • Thankyou Vseviour, that does sound really interesting actually. I am a bit of a hippy at heart!
Someone gave husband the Haynes Baby Manuel ( like the Car Manuel's), so he says he can learn everything he needs to from that. I respect his confidence (!), but that Daisy class sounds practical & hands on, so very useful :)

that's funny, I just looked it up on amazon as it sounds like something my OH would like :D but I decided to buy commando dad instead as I remember him reading it in mamas and papas the other day while I was trying clothes on, but he wouldn't buy it because it was expensive. it was much cheaper on amazon!

my 30th today and iv been wide awake since 6.30 with my little girl kicking the heck out of me but I couldn't be happier! my oh had his head resting lightly on my tummy before talking to her and she practically kicked him in the face! haha.

  • Happy Birthday Firey!! Hope you have a lovely day :)

I'll take a look at the Commando dad book too, thanks, husband has done some survival training so it might appeal too :)

    Oh dear NeverDespair!

Firey - Humm, it's probably as I live in a v small market town.

I'll try ringing about the most local real town, where the hospital is, they might have other options... But then I wouldn't see the mums around where I live & husband is rarely out of work by 6.30. But I'll investigate, thanks ladies.

I wouldn't worry about ages, really. After all, you're all there for the same reason!

I find it even more at DS' school. Most of the parents of his classmates are at least 10 years older than OH and me, a lot are more so. A number are actually closer in age to my own parents than to me (-:

One boy he plays with a lot, for example - his mother was 41 when Isaac's mate was born, and 46 when he second made her appearance, so 14 years older than I am, and 13 years younger than my Dad!

    Good afternoon,

What amazing weather it is today. We have hired a skip this weekend to clear our as much of the rubbish in the garage and house as possible. Amazingly we have filled it and we could probably fill another one!! Where does it all come from. Don't feel so guilty now about having homemade pizza for dinner tonight now lol and might even have some vegetable chips cooked in the actifry with it...yum yum.

DH was brought the commando baby book as his secret santa gift from work. He loves it. In fact I'm wondering whether to pack it in the hospital bag in case we need a bit of entertainment.

I am really looking forward to my antenatal classes because of meeting other parents to be in the area. We are a little ahead of our friends as non of them are married and having children so meeting others is going to be great.

    Happy Birthday Firey for today!!

Happy Birthday NDG for Monday. I can't believe you have to have a blood test on your birthday. I hope you veins are much easier to find than mine. Last time I went she had to have 5 attempts and I ended up with bruises on both of my elbows, both wrists and in one hand.

Hope you are both being spoilt rotten xxx

Thanks Vicky - Mothering Sunday tomorrow and my birthday on Monday, I'm definitely holding out for two days of being pampered and treated (-:

Mine varies - usually found quite easily, but I have had a couple of spectacular multi-coloured massive bruises. I'm very pale skinned, so it shows up impressively too.

39 weeks today... We 've had a few building related fun and games this past few days when it was discovered our lovely new build house had a major leak behind the wall in the downstairs bathroom where the kitchen fitter had screwed through the main pipe going to the upstairs bathroom. Three days of building work later and we're slowly getting there but won't be fully resolved till Weds. At one point ln Thursday there were 7 tradesmen in the place.

So much for relaxing after we moved in ;)

Hope it all gets sorted ASAP! Newbuilds are supposed to be hassle free, right?
