Welcome, Rambosmum!
I'm now 38+4, and this kid is definitely a lump now. He's properly heavy to carry aroundAnd my bump is somehow still growing!

Wow bosscout.
How are you feeling? Nervous? Excited?0 -
Thanks for the welcome. I did NCT first time round as DH felt he didn't know enough, I wasn't too fussed as I'd read loads. But the friends I've made through it have been great. The whatsapp group in the early days was fab ("is this normal" "what did you do when they did this"). I also made some great friends through mums and baby groups who I still see regularly too. I'm a bit socially awkward so was worried.
Need to get my MATB1 form at my next appointment, suddenly had the realisation today!0 -
Munchkin - a little of both, maybe? We did an online hypnobirthing course, so I think I'm about as chilled out about birth as I can be. But every little twinge or pain now does have me wondering if that's the start of something... And very excited to meet him, finally, but also a little terrified of actually having a small human rely on me. He's safe inside me, being no trouble other than headbutting my bladder repeatedly and booting me... When he's out it seems like so much more responsibility.
39wks today...0 -
I had a little freak out tonight about this tiny human relying on us for everything.
I can’t imagine how being at 39 weeks feels. I don’t think I could think about anything else.
He’s had a right wiggle on which has woken me up and I feel very uncomfortable. Hoping that wandering round the house a bit will send him to sleep.
Been quite unwell this week. Assumed the nausea Monday was hunger or being nervous about the health visitor. Turns out I had d and v, possibly food poisoning. Never been so sick.
Feeling better now thank goodness. But missed antenatal class.
I really should look into hypnobirthing.0 -
Munchkin I can totally relate. I'm 31+2 and this week I've felt a fair amount of pressure and definitely feel like I'm waddling much more. Which is exciting as we're obviously getting closer, but also a bit scary as we're getting closer!
I'm glad to hear you're feeling better, hopefully that's the last of it for you.
Bosscout, which online course did you do and would you recommend it? You sound fairly relaxed so I assume so? Any other advice for us a few weeks behind you?Little One born 19/12/18

So to be fair, I was already very relaxed about everything (I have a friend who gave birth 5 weeks ago who keeps telling me she can't believe how relaxed I am about everything), but I did the The Positive Birth Company hypnobirthing course online - it's £35, although they do quite often have offers on. It's split up into chapters, the lady who does it all goes over the science of birth, relaxation techniques, what will happen on 'the big day', what your rights are and how to best make the right decisions even under pressure. It's most helpful if you can watch them all with your birth partner - as to be honest, they have more to do than you do... We just push a baby out
They have to keep us fed, watered, relaxed, make sure our wishes are known, communicate with the medical staff, all of that stuff! My partner was a bit sceptical at first, until I convinced him there was no actual hypnosis involved, and he found it really helpful. Now he knows different stages of birth, and how to recognise them and how to keep me relaxed and reassured and why that's important.
I've also already joined a breastfeeding group on Facebook which is run by trained consultants, rather than just being peer-support, and that's very useful to learn about the difficulties you may face, and also the things which may feel difficult but are totally normal! (Breastfeeding support and information UK)
I would definitely say that the further along I've got the more time every day I spend thinking about....everythingIt can feel a bit obsessive! But I do also feel as ready as I think you can ever feel...
Munchkin - glad you're feeling better! Sorry you were so ill though0 -
Argh. I have sciatica and it's really bad today. I do not like being pregnant!0

Hope you feel better soon, it’s horrible.
Got asked how long I have left today. 10 weeks exactly. Then asked if there’s only one in there and am I sure.
Almost punched this woman.
I’ve spent a lot of this pregnancy worried about his growth after getting a call at 13 weeks telling me I need growth scans so I really didn’t need some random commenting on my belly.0
