I've been trying to do things where it would be hugely inconvenient to go into labour... Still nothing :D I've always said I'll be patient, he'll come when he's ready... But I am impatient! Come on, kiddo, come and meet us! (Plus the top of my inner thighs is absolutely killing me with SPD.)

Still here, still cooking this baby! My friend has a bet that I'll give birth tomorrow.... Went for a walk today to try and jiggle him out. Hips kill, inner thighs kill, bump hurts, zero sign of him leaving though :D
  • Aww I got all excited then seeing a notification.
I bet you can’t wait to have him here.

Awww, Bosscout. I think you've done amazingly to get to 40 weeks before feeling like that. I was 37 last time and couldn't wait for him to vacate (which he did at 38 thankfully).

I have had a good weekend, pain free and slept well (as well as you can with a 2yo in your bed!). Which has made a nice change. Saw the midwife on Friday, she was lovely and very reassuring about me getting me c section, unlike the horrid registrar I'd seen the week before. Thankfully the attitude of the registrar seems to be a one off in my trust as everyone else I've spoken to (3 other midwives and 1 other registrar) have all been very pro choice and reassuring. Got to wait another 6 weeks though to see the consultant.

    26 weeks today.
  • Well I've absolutely forbidden him from arriving and making me miss the Bake Off final tomorrow night. So expect him to arrive precisely then. :D

Glad you had a lovely MW, Rambosmum, it makes such a difference!

And yes, Munchkin, my OH finds it hilarious that every time baby is kicking off, making my belly stick out in every direction, I'm there saying 'Come out, then you'll have room! You can stretch as much as you like! Just get out here!'

You're obviously doing too good a job keeping your little one comfy and relaxed Bosscout! Wishing you the best of luck and a smooth labour for when baby does finally decide to make an appearance.

RambosMum don't let the registrar get to you, like you said it's only one person and everyone else seems helpful. At the end of the day it's your choice. My midwife is quite pushy for homebirths I had to tell her few times it's not something I'm comfortable with. (FTM just wanting the reassurance of being in the hospital should anything go wrong or I need stronger meds).

I'm 33 weeks tomorrow and have bloody awful hip pain - I feel like I've pulled every muscle in the hip/groin/pelvis area which is making sleeping and waddling around difficult. I imagine its all normal and to be expected but any suggestions on what could help ladies? I'm seeing my MW a week tomorrow so was going to wait till then to talk to her.

Hope you've all had wonderful weekends

  • I’m having pain which I think is trapped wind. It’s so painful I need to stop moving.
And when I sneezed earlier i thought the baby was coming out, it was that painful

    How's the trapped wind today?

I suffered terribly with it with DS, not quite so bad this time though. Moving helps (the pain is it working it's way down) but getting on all 4s, with bum in the air and wiggling also helps! Though make sure the curtains are closed before you do it.
  • Thanks Rambosmum. I’ll give that a try next time.
It feels better today. Keep drinking peppermint tea and I’m trying to stop drinking fizzy drinks.
Hope everyone is well and that you get to see bake off tonight Bosscout.
My baby kicks the entire length of bake off. With a chef for a dad I guess he will be into cooking too.
Got another growth scan Thursday. Hoping that everything is ok and he’s on track.

Midwife can refer you for pregnancy physio for some tips. You might benefit from a pregnancy support belt although that's only for use standing or walking. I didn't bother as I got my bad back when I'd nearly finished work and figured I could cope with not being on feet too long.

At the antenatal class I attended the educator said some very positive things about home birth but as a first time parent I want the security of hospital!

Last couple of days my pelvis hurts a lot sometimes when I get out of bed or out of chairs. Wondering if baby has gone lower in pelvis and that's causing it? I'm not so bad sitting or lying down. I've had a bad back when on my feet for more than about 5 minutes for a while now but hurting just to get up is new! 38+4 today.
