Lush I feel the same as you about bf & toddlers.
I understand why people choose to do it, and fair play to them but it's not something I would want to do.
And like you said its all down to personal opinion. In the same way people who choose epidural over gas & air or whatever, it's their choice.
I defo want to try bf but I've promised myself I won't beat myself up if for whatever reason I am unable to do it.
It's something that has never been done in our family. Babies were always bottle fed so it's slightly alien to me. OH's family are the compete opposite & that has made me more keen to at least try it.

Thought I would share a couple of clothing wonders I have found.
http://www.izabel.com/en/ukeurope/leggings-and-trousers/overlayered-tie-up-trousers/invt/p52491uk
These wide palazzo pants but have wrap around material. The sizing is generous and they are really comfy. They look better in real life.....and.i got lots of compliments when I wore them yesterday.
The other thing is primark have skirts in legging material(think 80s tube skirts) they sit just below the knee and they had black, wine, navy and blue and white strips they were £8 and are really comfy.
Emz congratulations and love the name.Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."Official DFW Nerd 1365

Four boldies and CupOfTea due today!
If you all give birth that puts me at number three! :-)
Went to bed at 9.30 last night; made sure to go to the toilet last thing hoping to sleep through...no such luck I was up once and back to bed, then up a second time so I thought I'd check the time...00.47! Sometimes I am glad we don't have a clock in the bedroom as it would drive me crackers every time I was up. Suppose you can't win tough as at least it was early enough for me to go back to sleep until bf's alarm at 6.20 whereas if I'd looked and it was 4 or 5am I'd have been frustrated.
After a lazy weekend bump was having a party when bf got back yesterday :-) sweet but after a while it just gets awkward haha. After the last mw appointment bf keeps asking if I've had my show yet which is just plain awkward too!
Have to say now that I can say she is due in the next ten days the bit I am nervous about is not recognising the move from aches in my lower back etc (think thats my braxton hicks) to 'real' labour pains and also my waters breaking. Probably the two things I shouldn't worry about as I'm sure I'll know when the pains change and there's nothing I can do about my waters and when they go! Oh still not looking forward to people looking at my business either...maybe birth will make me less shy/reserved haha************************************

Believe me Lushlifesaver - youll know!! Incidently my waters haven't gone until at hospital in full established labour.
I am SICK of going to the toilet in the night!! Was up about 6 times last night and that is usual at the moment - only properly go about 3 times. Don't go that often in the day so don't know why Im up so often in the night - I cant ignore it. Baby does appear to be having a party in the night though and is probably jumping up and down on my bladder. Don't remember it being this bad in previous pregnancies.0 -
Don't worry Lush, you'll know!
Don't worry too much about people getting a look at your lady parts either, the midwives will make you feel at ease and once you've had a couple of examinations you'll stop caring about it, especially as the contractions get stronger as each time someone pokes around down there it means the baby's getting closer! I had some bleeding after giving birth and there was a room full of people having a good look and a MW with her hand up my hoo-hah for about 10 minutes holding onto my uterus and I really didn't care!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Well there's no signs from me... Think I'll be a boldie for a while! Lush, you might even beat me!
Tmi alert... For the last week I've been getting increased discharge and yesterday and today there have been two pretty big mucus plugs when I've been to the loo on the morning. Mr Google tells me that even if this is my show labour could still be 1-2 weeks away!!!! I have no other signs at all, baby still seems high and no contractions whatsoever.
No doubt I'll still be on the list next week0 -
Hi ladies - I've been lurking for a while but still reading. I was just wondering if anyone is taking evening primrose oil? I've been taking it daily but I'm 38 weeks now and I think I need to be taking more, and inserting them in the business end....Anyone have any experience of this?
I'm getting quite uncomfortable now and to be honest am getting bored of being pregnant. I want to play with my baby! No signs of anything tho, but my mw says I'm 2/5 engaged which I think is a good thing. Anyway, hope you are all well.0
