Just adding that my arm was painful too for a few days after whopping cough jab too. Hard to lift anything or raise arm above my shoulder. Would also suggest having it in your left arm if right handed...... :)

Congrats emz. Hope you're recovering well :)

I bfed for 6 mths with DD1 and thought that was just normal. When I went for booking in with DD2 they asked how long we'd managed and were v impressed with 6 mths. They said most women don't do it longer than 6 weeks.

The 2 year recommendation includes the developing world where extended bfing protects children from water and food borne diseases for longer. That's not so important in UK, so I guess that's why the recommended duration is different.

Ive had the same. DH keeps joking about needing a gas mask. I say Im just getting him back for years of his!

Ive had some awful stomach pains though which Im guessing are indigestion, normally in the mornings.

Yeah I haven't any digestion related problems other than constipation for a while but last night was awful! Today I keep getting pains in my stomach which come and go and sit sort of towards my back but are definitely related to my digestive system :-\ think its a combination of the pains of trapped gas and constipation...can't wait for my digestive system to have more space and get back to normal (well normal for me) :P

Serves me right for indulging in three courses of such rich food yesterday though!

  • when do you think you should be worried about not as much movement? I don't really remember feeling the baby yesterday but then again I was so busy all day on a 13 hour shift :-/ at night she is usually active but I didn't feel much. then this morning I have felt a few kicks but little ones, mostly flutters, no big movements like usual. I think the more I think about it the more I'm worrying. what would everyone else do?

Hi firey, I didn't want to read and run but think if your at all worried then the best thing to do is phone your midwife xx

Firey I agree with Clare; if it's not 'normal' for you and you're worried give your midwife a call for some advice/reassurance.

Just had to take a really awkward phone call from the hotel my team are staying at this weekend - guess that's what I get for only providing my contact number and not giving them everybody else's numbers too! Upside of not being at the tournament means that the other person won't know that I know why they need her to call them ... unless they tell her they told me!

Throughout my pregnancy, baby has had quiet days and really busy days where she moves non stop... everyone is different though so don't try and compare yourself to others.
I had to go into hospital for monitoring the other day (at 39+5!) as baby had a proper snoozefest throughout the day and I was really worried, as normally I feel something. As soon as I got to hospital, she started having a disco in my belly, typical! The midwives were lovely though and its no trouble for them just to monitor you for half an hour if you;re worried! Always better to be safe than sorry!
Just give it a monitor yourself for half an hour or so - have a glass of ice cold water or eat something really sugary, if you';re still not convinced just call the labour unit. xx
  • I don't really have a midwife to ring for advice, iv tried that before ringing the number on the front of my green notes but they just said to make an appointment! does everybody else just have a number they can ring whenever they want? the only other place I could ring is triage at the hospital. iv been out and about with my sister trying to take my mind off it. thanks though ladies I'm going to see what she's like this evening.
