Lush you are crazy lol!
Just the thought of gardening is enough to tire me out! I can barely get washing out the machine anymore or get pans or dishes out of low cupboards because once I bend or kneel down I can barely get up again! I have to get on my knees and pull myself up by the work tops and it really hurts especially on my knees on the floor.
I was thinking about mowing the lawn today but decided not to purely because it would involve bending down to undo the lock on the garage door and DH isn't about so I could see myself sitting on the Tarmac trying to get myself up and decided not to!
I did make a lasagne & spag Bol for the freezer though so that was my job of the day!0 -

I had a sleep when I got in then beans on toast and felt better but not quite right still. I've a friend whose a nurse who said it sounded "like torture" and couldn't figure why I'd be put through it if my urine had been fine!
Urine's not a very reliable indication of gestational diabetes. If you have sugar in it, then it's a good indication you might have it, but no sugar in your urine doesn't mean you don't.
I read a lot about it before my GTT last time (-: I'm the obsessive research type, I'm afraid!
I don't usually consume much sugar either, so that's a good explanation of why it makes you feel weird. And it's better to check and not have it than not check, I reckon?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Yup that's why I did it - I'd sooner have the tests to be sure than remain ignorant if a problem! It was just a little worrying my nurse friend said that.. Oh well... All done now.
Thanks for the info re urine.. My mum also couldn't understand why they went straight to the full test, so I can tell her thatPlease forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -
There's a lot of GTTs going on here! I declined it, they sound horrible! I have to travel quite far for the midwife clinics and got a call today asking me to go back on Saturday to have some blood tests again because the last midwife didn't label them properly! How bad is that?! On the plus side there is a huge tescos right by it so I can double it up as a shopping trip lol!
I hope emz's abscence means that she's had her baby!0 -
If you've got medical reasons then I cant see them being funny about it. Otherwise it might depend on your hospital, mine is 'baby friendly' so not allowed to encourage or really talk about formula unless really pushed or for some reason breast feeding isnt working I think they can suggest it alongside from hearing what has happened to my friends in the hospital. They do run feeding work shops which include how to formula feed, but I think its more of a thing like how to tell you how to do it when you stop breast feeding.
I would assume that if you say you don't want to, they will at least encourage you to feed the baby the colostrum as that is the most important.
Woken up with a cold today which is pretty annoying as Ive managed to avoid having one for my entire pregnancy, DH had a couple in the autumn and he slept in the spare room and I didnt catch it. Now I havent been near anyone I know with a cold and Ive gone and got one!!
Thanks Claire although for me it is more a personal choice to be honest and although I'm 99.9% certain I'll bottle feed I guess there's still that chance it could change once little Bob is here.
Hope your cold clears up soon xx
I had my glucose test a couple of weeks ago - because my bmi is 31 - and it was horrible but results came back ok which I was obviously pleased about.
I've got my whooping cough vaccination a week on Saturday and hoping I don't suffer any bad side effects :-/
Hope all is going well with emz can't wait to hear some news :-)
OH is at work on nights and I can never sleep properly so just watching Twilight - was never interested when the films first came out but then really got into them last year lol
Hope everyone is well

Oh yes clare1angel you've reminded me I need to book the whooping cough one, it'll be the same week as my next mw appt where she's taking blood to recheck iron levels.. that will be a fun week, not!
At work and feeling rubbish. OH and I had a right fall out last night, and though it seems minor he's really annoyed me. He's a teaching assistant, and said yesterday they had to dress up today (a late world book day event) as an animal. I was working til 7, got home, he's chilling in bed after finishing work at 3:30. So I asked him to make tea while I did an online assessment that was due at midnight, then had a shower by which time it was 9:45. I started to make him some kind of costume, was cutting up bits of felt so I asked him to find me a set of needles and some thread. He was huffing and puffing because *oh no* he had to get out of bed and go downstairs for the needles. I said I know you're shattered, but so am I, and I'm making this for you and he just said 'well you shouldn't have offered to do it then should you'. It really upset me. I was doing it for him and he is moaning because he had to help for about 30 seconds? He is working full time, and doing another 20 hour job at weekends, and at college one night a week, but I work full time too, at uni part time including 8 hours teaching a week and am 26+5 pregnant so it's hard for us both? Just wound me up, I feel like I'm nagging him but unless I ask him to do stuff it just doesn't seem to happen.
good luck with the 'operation' Squ1rrel5 lol xxx0 -

At which point I would have left him to it.Mortgage when started: £330,995
