Shame or not - I remember A VIVA well enough - just like the Vauxhall of the same name ie unreliable, not something you want to be associated with and always a pleaseure to get out of.

As a longstanding Vauxhall Viva owner in the early 80's I have to say it was a VERY reliable car that carried me all round the UK without a single hitch. :)

    Sorry, off-topic, I know. ;)
  • Hi Becca,

Sadly, we were broken into recently and we had a couple of laptops stolen.
The 'loss adjuster' said that they would be replaced by a 'prefered supplier'.
I think he said it would be Ival / I-Val ?
I said that, as a software developer/graphic designer and gadget junkie , I was pretty fussy over what laptop would be suitable as a replacement and I would like some say in what the replacement(s) would be. However, he was quite firm and said that he is instructed to use the prefered supplier who should supply me with equivilent replacements.

This has left me with a feeling of dread at the impending battle/squabbling over suitable replacements.

However, after browsing moneysavingexpert.com and coming across a number of your informative posts and offers of help, I have renewed confidence in Norwich Union and feel less threatened by what I perceived as an 'unhelpful penny-pinching corporate adversary' ( a bit strong I know, but these are stressfull times for me, apologies).

Anyway, all I wanted to say was... Becca - Well Done ! :T
  • Hi Gaz
Thank you for this post. And I'm sorry you've had such a rotten time recently.

I'll do my best to try and explain what should happen - but I'm not in the office at the mo, so will just double check tomorrow morning - to make sure that my info is correct (its nearly my bedtime!)

I can understand that you would want to have a say in what sort of laptop you have yours replaced with, and we will do our best (as will I-Val) to ensure you are left in the position you were in before the break in. Naturally, if there are some things that are not necessarily the norm you may need to steer a little.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have need to :)

I hope you and your family are not too traumatised by the break in.

    Becca
