  • Hey TCOD - thanks for the info! Got my first appointment next Weds and I can't wait. I'm wondering if we can still do NHS antenatal classes? I wanted to do some at the Women's. And did she mention anything about a tens machine/pool birth? i.e. are the same options open to us as normal NHSers?

Don't want a homebirth, so its good they don't try to push it.

I've seen those lazy daisy classes advertised, do you mind saying where it is and how much it costs? Have you seen the free mamafit classes? They look great but are all in work time so I can't attend.

lilmiss - enjoy your weekend away!

Oh my god, I just went to the toilet and I am bleeding bright red blood. I have had no bleeding whatsoever this pregnancy, not spotting or anything at all. I literally don't know what to do or who I should call or anything, I don't know what to do

In regards to snoring, hubby doesn't but the dog does! She sleeps on her own bed but in our bedroom and for some reason the last couple of weeks she has been keeping us awake! Well I actually sleep through it but hubby feels he needs to wake me up to tell me he can't sleep :rotfl:

When the baby comes we will need to kick the dog out of the bedroom as although I trust her it's obviously not sensible to have them in the same room. We should have really thought of this before we let her in but after 6 years it's a bit late. Luckily we should be moved house before the baby comes so hubby suggested as soon as we move she sleeps outside the bedroom and has a couple of months to get used to it before the baby arrives so she doesn't associate the baby with being kicked out!

Does anyone else have pets? We also have 2 cats too but they've never been in the bedroom so they aren't so much of an issue.

lilmissreading - Have a great weekend! xx

Daisiegg - don't panic. Repeat: don't panic. There are many causes for bleeding in pregnancy and it's not necessarily awful news.

Look up your local EPU (early pregnancy unit) or maternity unit and call them to explain how far along you are and what the symptoms are. Take deep breaths and call them now. They will advise/direct you as appropriate. Look on your maternity notes for the number, or Google search if you can't find it. If you're still stuck call your GP or 111.

Let us know how you get on

daisiegg are you back in the UK? Definitely call your local hospital or gp surgery for advice as I recall you don't have a midwife you can contact or am I confused about that.

If you don't have anyone to contact get yourself down to your closest A&E and hopefully they'll be able to help you xxx

Daisie, you should have a list of numbers for the hospital and phone which one you think is the most appropriate. They will probably ask if it's enough to soak a pad. Even if it's not, tell them. When I spotted I got so used to it I didn't bother contacting them. As this is your first time you should get some reassurance..

Oh daisiegg I know how distraught you must be feeling, I was when I had bright red blood at 12 weeks!!! Definitely go and get yourself checked, this is what they are there for. I slept on it as it happened late evening and I don't like bothering people but I was still a wreck in the morning! Keep calm and but don't be afraid to let out emotions, I felt much better crying than trying to keep a lid on it. Keep us updated xxx
