Congratulations on your 20wk scan Disney - still feels an age away for me.
Teabag - I had the same problem with the old nips and have started using cocoa butter on my tummy, hips, boobs and thighs and it's made a difference - bonus is it also smells lovely and should hopefully minimise stretch marks..!Baby on board - EDD 29th Sept0 -
lilmiss, I have donated for a few years, but it took me ages to get around to it, unfortunately I'm one of the slow donators and given I now have reynauds this seems to have gotten worse, last time I went I ended up traumatised from being told so many times that I was being too slow - not like I was klinging on to the stuff! So part of me was relieved when I got pregnant that I've got an excuse for a while.
can't wait for my 20 week scan, seems like it's so far away, yet by the same token also feels like I've got lots of baby related medical appointments. Got to start testing my blood from Monday, not looking forwards to it, and really hoping the numbers stay as they have been of late (low - mid 4's) just got to get to get my doctor to prescribe me more than one box of testing strips a month, given there's 50 in a box and I have to test 4 times a day they won't last a month!0 -
To anyone struggling with dry or itchy skin, I bought the soothe and protect body lotion from the Cussons Mum-to-be range, it has made my skin feel lovely and has stopped me itching all the time. I really recommend it, and it was half price at Boots when I bought it last Friday.0

Glad the scan went well Disney
I gave blood twice for medical experiments when I was at Uni. First time I almost fainted, second time I did faint. I don't actually mind needles or blood normally! But I haven't dared to try giving blood since.
I have 'Mama Bee' from Burts Bees (body butter). It smells lovely and I didn't get any stretch marks last time around. Of course that's not necessarily due to the body butter, I might just have been lucky!
Currently typing from bed.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I have been sleeping really badly but last night was a bit better - I had no caffeine at all yesterday so fingers crossed that helps, as I'll be off to sleep soon I think!0 -

Last night I had an interesting conversation with my mum. I always thought she would pressurise me to breast feed from the way she reacted when my sister (older than me) did not.
But she surprised me. She breastfed DSis for 2 weeks then switched. Persevered with me for 6 months but I would not stop crying. Then I had to stay overnight in hospital, they bottle fed me and it was the first night I slept through. Unfortunately mum was not producing enough milk.
Like I said, I'll give it a good go and at least I know I'm not going to get crazy pressure from mum as well.
This really interested me. My friend had exactly the same problem - baby always crying because she couldn't produce enough milk. Health Visitor gave her hell for supplementing with formula. I just can't understand this rigid belief that there is one way and one way only to raise a child :mad:Met DH to be 2010

Ooooh I've been part of an unintentional chat about needles. V interested in everyone else's stories. Makes me feel less alone and silly
I am wrecked. Sitting in bed typing and imagine I'll be drifting off soon.
A question I had is whether anyone is having more headaches than usual? I am and put them down to tiredness. However, i thought I read somewhere but now can't find that you have more blood in you when pregnant so that can give you headaches! Does anyone else know or am I confabulating?
Loving the skin tips.

Definitely more headaches lilmissreading - had a stinking one last night so gave up and went to bed early!
I'm not massively fond of needles but provided I don't look and don't think about what's going on then I'm normally alright..!Baby on board - EDD 29th Sept0
