Exciting to find out you are 18 weeks. Glad all is ok.

Fresh the anti-d is not that bad. I was terrified after reading google and it really was not that bad. My midwife is doing that and whooping cough on the same day so lots of jabs for me that day.

Had mw today and was able to hear heart beat. All was fine but I still have strep b so iv during labour :( that's worse than anti-d I think, don't like canulas.

It is definately taking a while to get our heads round, It was only 5/6 weeks ago we we took the test and know we are almost half way through the pregnancy! It is all a bit of a blur!
I've been taking Pregneae Plus since the middle of July (at 14weeks?)
I never get ill so all this hospital and midwife time in the space of a month is a little overwhelming for me but my husband has literly driven from north Scotland where he is working to be with my for appointments :)
Scan again on Friday my actual 19+6 week anomolly scan, not sure if we want to find out the sex then. Is that weird? Our mums wantt o know to buy things, wouldn't be horrid if everything was either blue or pink?

I have no idea what comes noext, will have to find out what the anti D and whooping cough injections are next!

I think its personal preference finding out the sex, I am glad I did as was initially disappointed so glad I have had time to clear my head of my mother/daughter daydreams and be mentally prepared to be buying cars rather than dolls.

Lots of appointments going on, my midwife works Thursdays which is always the end of a week for me where I am +6, not seeing her til 24 + 6 and think work will be harassing me for my maternity form which I won't get til then. I have read employers have to receive info during the 25th week so assuming they don't need it instantly.

Has anyone bought any new bras yet or about to? I need to but am quite small chhested , though maybe not so much now, but finding the right size is always tricky and choices limited. Any recommendations on where to go? At this point should I be buying maternity bras or just normal ones? Thanks

Scmp, anti-d is given if you are a certain blood type (rhesus negative) and your midwife will explain if you are recommended to have it. Lots of people don't need it :)As fir whooping cough it's a new thing I think, don't remember it sat time. My midwife said number of cases of whooping cough have increased and babies are more susceptible. They hope they will get some immunity if mums have the vaccination.

As for bras I went to mothercare to be measured. I have gone from an A cup to a D. It's brill lol. I bought mothercare and marks last time. They were nice but I went to next thus time (had a voucher) and they are horrid IMO. Go try some on but it's reccomended you don't wear underwired bras when pg.

Tia - I kind of want a girl... I have 1 niece and 3 nephews, My husband has 1 niece and 3 nephews as well so it would even the playing odds somewhat lol

Mr Knight - Thanks for the injection info, it is a lot to take in as what we thought were the few weeks left in the 1st trimester we didn't want to read up to much or get excited as though not to jinx the pregnancy after 6.5 years of trying! 82% of mothers in north wales (apparently) have had the injection due to deaths so it is definitely something we need to concider.

As for bras i am very interested in that! I am/was a 36D and i'm getting a bit to big for my brad now :( Having a size 12 body with big boobs was a pain before! I didn't know about the underwired bras... i don't think i have not worn underwired for 15 years!!!! I don't know how i will cope?! I can't beleive you have gone from an A to a D, that's insane!!!!

So i'm 19+3 now and not felt anything i can say is baby movements as of yet but obviously we saw it wriggling round only a week ago so not worried yet. I can't wait to feel it for certain but at the same time i don't mind holding off as once it starts it's not going to stop! :)
  • Knight - I have had THREE anti-d injections already this pregnancy and they really hurt me and make me itch for two days lol I hate them. THe woman at hospital said it is the most painful injection she has to give. :( I hate hate hate it.

My midwife today was canx so next week now....x

Three already? Not good. I must have been lucky, it wasn't pleasant by any means but not as bad as the horror stories I read on google. Hopefully it will be ok this time. Can they not give you some anti histamine for the itching?
  • I have to have the Anti D injection and have already had my appointment through for December! In fact the letter has arrived before my 20 week scan date!

Where I am they do one injection at roughly 28 weeks and then you get another after the birth if the Baby is Rh Positive. I think most health boards though do 2 injections after 28 weeks? freshstart 3 sounds very unfortunate, if you don't mind me asking why have you had 3?

The Whooping cough injection hasn't been mentioned yet but I'm sure it will at some point.

Hope everyone is ok? We have now told quite a few people and it is feeling more and more real if that makes sense? We've less than 6 months left which is exciting but scary at the same time!

  • 2 bleeds and 1 fall, two were within a week of each other. The first one should have still been ok but the antibodies were hardly showing (my anti d must be low!!) they did mention to me I may need more done about this.
