Evening all, can I join this thread please, had my scan last week and am just over 14 weeks now. Got my Downs syndrome screening result back and risk is less than 1 in 10000. 20 week scan 25 September. :j
I don't think I am showing yet but someone called me a "fatass" (!!!) on holiday this week so, perhaps I am. I'm only a size 12!
Even though the scan went well I am still struggling to believe it, particularly as sickness is starting to ease!0 -
Hello, can i join you please. I'm 13 weeks tomorrow with non identical twins. Official due date is 23rd Feb but they will consider me full term on 3rd Feb so not really sure when I need to be ready for
. Next scan is on 3rd Oct.

Too old - how rude of them to put that, I wouldn't have thought your size was that big! Yay for another team blue, I have noticed in one of my scan photo's you can definitely tell its a boy (at least that's what we think it is in the pic!!)
Fresh start hope the 3d scan goes well. I originally wanted one but have become more and more freaked out by pregnancy and what's going on that I decided not to. Will you get a DVD with yours?
Welcome Sulphate lol for the rude comment. I find that some people fall into the 'you don't look very big camp' while others are 'who ate all the pies'. Ignore them all! BTW I have had a symptom free pregnancy, nothing other than bloating and tiredness which I considered to be normal for me anyway so don't worry about no symptoms.
Wow Jammy, congrats on twins!! Will they be your first?! How exciting!0 -
Just back from the closing down sale at Kiddicare it was defo worth the drive to lakeside :-)
And nope I didn't think I was that big but he really did upset me apart from knowing all ok the scan wasn't a pleasant experience at all :-( x0 -

Too old- I got the same comment on my 20 week scan- "visibility impaired due to maternal habitus". I didn't get that comment on my 12 week scan. My booking in weight was 13st 9 and I was a size 16. I'd lost weight by my 20 week scan and have only just reached my booking in weight again.... I just think some of them write it to cover their own butts as my 12 week scanner commented how clear the images were. Try not to let it get to you- I know it rankles! xx

Tooold I had it stated on my 20 week scan that visibility wasn't good due to patient body habitus which google confirmed is due to fat but to be honest with you at both my 12 and 20 week scans they didn't really talk that much through the whole process so don't be disheartened. You should probably remember that they do this for a living whereas it's something wonderous to us as it's our child IYKWIM.
My best scan was one I had done last week at 28 weeks where as soon as she put the wand on the scan my little girl started yawning her head off and we could really make out her features, even the sonographer was laughing about it as every time her face was scanned she was yawning lol.

Hi!
We have had a busy weekend telling all of the family so have not been online!
tia86 - When i took a HPT we thought i was 8 weeks based on a conversation we remembers having back in May... we were planning our wedding and got hitched in June and so had not been keeping track of periods!
We went for the first midwife appointment at 10 weeks and answered all of the questions.
At 12 weeks i had not received a scan appointment and i had put on a little bit of weight and the bas of my tummy was hardening so i called the hospital on the Friday morning (8th) and was sent straight in on the Monday morning (11th) for the 12 week dating scan at 12+6. The scan revealed I was actually 18+2 weeks!
I had missed the nuchel scan and the quadruple bloods were taken there and then. On Friday morning (15th) i went to my community hospital (my husband made it home in time to take me) where some more bloods were taken, i pee'd in a cup, had my BP taken, listened to the baby's heart beat and was informed my 20 week scan is this Friday!
It is all go go go!
Here in North Wales we do not get a 28 week scan unless they see any problems or suspect any issues?
I definitely have a bump now, I am only a size 12 at my waist and now i can't close my work trousers, see my toes so i seem to have 'popped'!0 -
Gosh what a surprise scmp, how exciting and scary to be moved on that much, bet that took some getting your head around0

Thanks everyone. I know they were just doing their job but a bit of reassurance would have been nice. Saying that am just so happy to have got this far and all is ok :-D
Made me a bit self conscious about my weigh so have brought fruit for today instead of sweets lol Midwife Thursday busy week !
