Unsure but last pregnancy I was referred due to gynae issues n requesting/needing c section seen at 20ish wks saw 2 junior doctors who hadn't a clue about my medical condition tried to blag it when I asked them to tell me and when I quoted nice guidelines about right to request a c section they said oh that's trouble with middle class women read too much on internet I was then angry and upset n suggested they get someone more senior to make a decision and they came back n said consultant will see u at 30wks. Saw her at 30wks paperwork already done she said of course u need a c section explained the risks etc did all pre OP stuff think she was embarrassed by her team as when I went for pre op app they said oh she has done it all she never does it!

Anyway this time have to have same hassle in having a vbac app earliest could see was 34wks despite being a 30wk app so last week when there for scan a lovely receptionist tried to over ride system all clinics over booked another receptionist came n helped n said oh extra clinic now on but already booked up typed in a code n managed to overbook it so now being seen at 31+ wks.

It's waste time why midwife can't have a discussion with me and then process some paperwork n then get issuers c section date I have no interest in vbac all I want is a date.

Sorry u didn't ask for that rant good luck at appointment:)
  • hello, sorry I've not been around for a few days, had a bit of a scare this weekend. I took the kids out for a run around with their cousins on Saturday and ended up doing a bit too much running around myself which resulted in terrible frightening braxton hicks contraction, back ache and cramps saturday night and sunday. Gave myself a real fright, so I'm going to be taking things a lot easier from here on out.

My 20 week scan on friday went great, both babies are growing well and big for their gestation :D. The scan pictures were awful though, and I had to pay for them! Our 12 week scan pictures were much better and were free. I had to wait 3 hours to see the consultant  and I was only in there 5 minutes! She just said everything is looking good, warned me about the risk of pre term labour with twins and said I'll probably be induced/C-sec at 37 weeks. 17 weeks to go then.....yay!/arghhhhh!

I had physio for the first time yesterday for my SPD, it was great. A one to one with a womens physiotherapist, she was very thorough and has diagnosed a wonky pelvis, so I've got some exercises for that and I'm back to see her in a fortnight.

Right, I'm off to read through the rest of the posts that I missed x

  • My other half has flitted between the top end and the business end for both my births, so hes seen a forceps delivery and a water birth, and he definately wants to watch if I have a c-sec with the twins. Oh and he cut the cords too.I on the other hand am soooo squeamish, I don't think I could watch if the roles were reversed!

Congratulations to all that have had their scans! It's a great feeling isn't it, knowing they are healthy.

Hi everyone, hope we've all been well.

teaandcakeaddict - definitely look after yourself. We can't do, and nor should anyone expect us to do, what we did before pg. Take it easy. I find myself rushing around at work like I used to and literally having to slow my footsteps and breathing... it just ain't worth it

Lotti1982 - welcome! I'm getting scarily close to the top of the thread eek!

mr_knight - hope it went ok with your friend. I can imagine how I would feel in your position. Hopefully some chocolate and just 'listening' and being there to comfort will help x

    Congratulations chickpea! :j

Had my second anomaly scan today - called back in as last time at the 20 week mark they couldn't see the chambers/vessels of the heart properly. Nothing to worry about, just the way the wee one was lying. Received some nice photos, didn't have to pay (probably should have offered however completely forgot!). There is a funny one where the wee girl looks like she is pouting in a selfie... it's starting already! lol

Took a lot of prodding and poking today (very very ouchy) however, sonographer was happy with what she could see. Relief to see the wee one dancing about happily, especially as I don't really feel much movement these days.

Asked the midwife about the 'bounty book' (some may recall I was asking what was supposed to be in it) as the one I received didn't really have much material and the midwife said they don't really hand that out anymore?? Has anyone from Scotland received it?

Maybe a Scottish thing view to have stopped them

I know some women's rights groups have tried to get bounty banned here for number reasons.

Anyone opinions on stokke xplory love the look of it would be buying second hand even then not sure budget stretches that far.

There was a big Mumsnet campaign to get Bounty banned from the wards. They extort your details out of you and you ended up getting bombared with marketing material etc, and people have been bullied into letting them photograph their babies and buy the mediocre photographs.

It'll be in my birth plan that no Bounty rep is to come anywhere near me.
