Tia, my bump only seemed to be noticeable from about 27-28 weeks. Now I can't hide it (31+4). I don't think they start measuring your bump until 28-30 weeks so don't worry.I didn't feel movements until around the same time as lil miss- anterior placenta too.
I also haven't signed up to any of the free rubbish. Mainly because I don't like handing my details out, I don't want to be hassled by reps (think our hospital also has some quite pushy reps) and I don't think a labour/ post-natal ward is an appropriate place for reps in the nhs. MIL is a mw and gave me a bounty pack without signing me up to anything and tbh I don't think there was much in there of any use. Think I binned most of it. The tiny sudocrem did amuse me though...0 -
Got physio app through by text for a wk Mon only day of wk I cannot do is a Mon no child care. Rang n lady was lovely explained a group session wasn't any use n explained treatment I had last time n physio I saw n she tried to book me a 1-1 app with a physio n tried another hosp n nothing til 26 Aug so she spoke with a physio who is going to do a telephone consultation with me tomorrow and go from there. Least they were helpful.
Midwife had written growing pains on referral which soooo doesn't reflect the agony I am in.0 -
Does any of you ladies talk to the bump or baby?
If yes at what week or month did you start?
I have read that talking to bump makes the babies connect to the voices and grows attachment. I started doing it from today but feels so odd talking to myself.Saving goal for BTL mortgage - 28600 / 60000 ( July 2021) , 37600/60000 (December 2021) , 39300 / 60000 (august 2022) , 41000/60000 ( January 2023)0 -

Yup, but not randomly. Only when I have something to say. E.g. Stop kicking me there, be good, you'd better not be like mummy when she was young. So, yep, the lecturing has started alreadyLBM February 2008. DFD March 2013 19 August 2011Debt at LBM £14,395.48. Debt Now £00 -
I don't really talk to the bump unless it's "stop kicking me in the bladder please"
I feel a bit daft. I might start playing it music though. Surely it would hear you talking all day long anyway and get to know the voice?
I got another lovely bundle of maternity clothes from the local Facebook for sale page this evening, mostly Next but some Mothercare and New Look, I got some lovely jeans, pair of cord trousers, loads of tops including a nice fitted check short and loads of t-shirts and vests, in fab condition for only a tenner. Some of the tops are a size too big but I can just take them in. Very chuffed.
I'm a bit worried, my friend who's expecting twins went into hospital yesterday with a UTI and was kept overnight on antibiotics and apparently they were worried about premature labour. She was texting me regularly and posting on facebook, we were going to visit her tonight if they hadn't let her home and I texted earlier to make sure she was still in hospital but she hasn't replied, I've sent her a few more texts but she's not replied, sent her a message on FB and no reply, texted her OH and no reply, phoned there house and nobody is home. I'm probably being paranoid but I'm just a bit worriedReally hope she's ok. But it's about a 20 minute drive to the hospital and I'd no idea which ward she was in so didn't want to turn up on the off chance, especially if something wasn't right.
ETA: Just heard from her, she's ok, was released in the afternoon but then felt funny on the way to the car, went back in but they wouldn't take her back, did a few checks and sent her home. She's now resting but I'm not too convinced she should be home at all.0 -
Love actually - I am 18 weeks and we sometimes talk to the bump, can't feel it yet, but sometimes just make a silly comment
Angel - glad your friend is ok. What antenatal group have you been going to? There isn't much in my area by the looks of things until nearing the due date.
How's everyone's weekend going? Was meant to be wet here but actually turned out to be ok. Looked at a couple more pushchairs - considering the Sola City and Maxi Cosi Loola - anyone know much about these?
Am now off for 6 weeks (teacher) so must not obsess about baby stuff as I have more time to look things up0 -
Tia we well I am looking at stokke xplory most def second hand though.0

Yes they will hear you talking normally anyway so enirely up to you whether you address your comments to bump or not. Bump won't know! AFM started feeling much more normal to talk to bump when I can feel him moving and flip flopping around or sometimes if we are talking about him e.g. he has been told several times that he is to stay in for as long as it takes to cook properly but to try to aim for 6-7lbs. Selfish mummy reason. I talk more as I get bigger. I also sometimes talk about DH to him. All that matters is that it feels comfortable for you.

Moved in and engaged 2011
Married 2012

Just a local free one run by a lady who works as a doula. It's for women only and is very friendly, topics I've been to included home water births (couple of pools available we could try inflating and climbing into), slings where we tried out loads of different types with fake babies, active birthing, pain relief, and I've missed breastfeeding and hypnobirthing. Coming up is induction and birth plans in the next couple of weeks.
We are also going to the NCT classes, ours start in September, because my husband also needs to be educated and he could do with meeting a few dads to be as well0 -
Last night was feeling pretty rough, not sure if something I ate or just general PG sickness, although it felt different. Was a bit down as had to miss a friend's birthday dinner that I was looking forward to.
However, was absentmindedly patting my bump and felt that elusive movement... so much that my hand felt the movement also!!! I could have jumped up and down but instead burst into tears (of joy). I had been trying to not let myself worry that at 23 weeks I 'thought' I hadn't really felt anything so was overjoyed to actually feel something not only inside, but with my hand on the outside.
It may sound inconsequential to most but to me it was a real mark in the sand.
I note some folk have mentioned NCT classes to include the 'dad/male partner'... does your NHS class not? We are offered 4 NHS classes and the midwife said the men come along to all... is there a massive difference in the NHS and NCT aside from having to pay for NCT?0
