Aww lovely! I have my midwife appointment tomorrow. I only take OH if he is off work. He works shifts so he is around at random times of day. He missed 20 week scan last time as couldn't get off work but luckily is on a day off that day this time.0

I haven't been taking hubby along with me but only because we didn't think he'd be allowed to due to work however his manager told him off for not telling him about my last midwife appointment so he will be coming to all appointments from now on.
Luckily (or unluckily) I still haven't had the midwife listen to the heartbeat, that gets done at my 25 week midwife appointment.
Just goes to show the different processes in the same NHS system.DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

I've got my 20wk scan tomorrow, I'll be 21 weeks. I'm nervous and excited xx
Good luck with the scan x I know, I can't sleep past about 530 these days.. not hungry or desperate for wee, just wide wide awake :-(0 -

It was in the 140s which I think also points to being a girl.
Made me wish I'd brought my husband though, do you ladies bring your other half to midwife appointments?
How lovely! mine was in 140's also... I had mine heard at the metabolic clinic rather than MW. My hubby comes to all appointments, I think I'm really lucky he's so engaged in this whole process.0 -

Hoping he can come to the appts with you, it's nice to be able to share these moments if you're able to but can appreciate that it doesn't work for everyone. I know that we get paid maternity appts (it's the law) but not sure about OH's? (probably not?)0 -

They're not actually entitled to the time off paid, it's at the employer's discretion. I can't imagine my husband's boss would mind though, they are very reasonable.
I think both of us are very lucky with our employers. Mine (male manager) has been nothing but supportive and lovely, he texted this morning to ask how it went and has been great when I've gone home early a few times or come in late due to exhaustion. My husband's lot have been very good about holiday at short notice and time off for other hospital appointments so I'm sure they'd be fine. I know not everyone is as lucky though.0 -
My husband current work are much better than his last work he only comes to scans as waste time coming to midwife always running late even if have first appointment n never gives a straight answer so seems silly him coming as well0

Ah that's a shame FQ. My midwife is very nice and very helpful. There was a student today too who was lovely, she was worried about finding the heartbeat because I have an anterior placenta but she found it easily enough and was rather pleased with herself
I think I would be happy to have a student midwife at the birth, but not medical students.

I'm back from my 24 week midwife appointment and they said the heartbeat was 'happy'.
I was told to take the iron tablets with fruit juice as it helps the body to absorb it. Taking it with tea or coffee counter-acts the iron but they can be drank at other times. My iron dose doubles from tomorrow for a month so I hope the faint spells will disappear quicker - woohoo.
Also, the pain I'm experiencing under my breast is from stretching ligaments and should go. But when?
All of this time off work means I can research bathrooms. Mr P told me at the weekend he has booked the plumber in for August to remodel the bathroom but had not told me and I'm the one who has to design the bathroom and source everything while checking he also likes it - grrr.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

Just to say I really hope you're ok daisyegg. It can be scary. I had a Subchorionic Hematoma bleed when I was just 12 weeks. Like someone had cut my arm off... local doctor in the wilds of Scotland (we were on holiday) said nothing they could do, just to make me comfortable
thank goodness for the early pregnancy centre that is open 7 days.. managed to get a scan early Sunday monring and babba was fine, just had a massive bleed from the hematoma. I'm sure you'll be fine but just to say thinking of you and sending positivness your way x
I really hope you're ok - please let us know how you get on.
Thank you, you are kind
I am absolutely fine - bleeding has become a normal part of pregnancy for me! I have been bleeding on and off since 17 weeks (am now 24+6). At first it was because of a low lying placenta. Now the placenta has moved but I am still having bleeds due to cervical polyps, and an eroding cervix. All fun and games! Nobody seems too concerned and baby is moving lots. It just seems to happen when I have been on my feet for too long. I am meant to be having lots of rest and keeping my feet up as much as possible. The hospital did say I have to get checked every time I bleed but I think they meant more than I am now - it is really a very small amount. It happens very frequently so I can't go traipsing to hospital every time!0
