    Hi Ladies

Just a quick update after my consultants appointment. Turns out that I have a low lying placenta so need to be on the look out for any bleeding that may occur and to go to hospital or get in touch with them as soon as I notice anything. It wasn't mentioned during my scan yesterday but not sure why, anyway I'll be having a scan at 32 weeks to check that it has moved to where it should be.

After discussions with my consultant and the senior consultant they've decided to give me growth scans at 28 and 34 weeks with a review afterwards. They've confirmed that if things are getting too much for myself physically then they will consider not letting me go to term as it will be better recovery if I'm delivered earlier and depending on if they let me go to term the best way to deliver will also be discussed as it might be a cesarean or they may let me give birth naturally but it is just a waiting game as to what's going to happen at this stage.

I'm happy with how the appointment went as I find that the better prepared I am for all options the better I cope with things. I know a few of you ladies would hate to be having all these appointments and making something this wonderful quite clinical but it works for me.

tink I mentioned it as the sonographer started the scan yesterday, she did say that they don't generally do it but she did tell us.

loveactually for me probably a couple of weeks ago I had a more noticeable bump but somedays it looks like a bump and some it looks like fat especially when sat down lol.

 Impulse welcome to the thread where no question is too crazy :D

Alioops - glad the consultants appointment was helpful. The placenta thing can be fairly common i believe but good to look out for any problems. I definitely agree with you about being prepared and sounds like this has helped you. It doesn't matter how baby gets here as long as mum and baby are safe and happy.

I'm not totally leaving this thread either lol

my bump didn't pop until about 3 weeks ago and I'm 26 weeks now, before that I also unfortunately only really had a fat tummy.
  • I'm 17 weeks today and my bump is out sufficient that it's obvious that I'm pregnant. Went to the supermarket today to buy some lollies (bumper pack) and the checkout lady asked me if it was a craving. I'm loving that it's obvious and people feel like they can comment on it. Not had anyone touch my belly yet though. I'm a private person so not sure how I'll react to that one.

Sorry for not replying to your previous messages everyone re: feeling overwhelmed at mothercare. I'm not too worried yet, but a list of the absolute essentials would be very helpful. Thank you.

On another note, we have found a house that we absolutely LOVE. It's slightly more expensive than we can afford but we're trying to ask family to lend us money so that we can get it. It's amazing. And in true only child style 'I want it, I want it!'

Good luck to those moving up a board. I shall lurk to find out how you're all doing.

After being at the top of this list for less than 24 hours it's time for me to hand the baton over to T2D for her 24 hours at the top. I'm sure I'll continue lurking/contributing so I've struck myself out.

P.S. That pelvic floor message works!
