12-24 weeks pregnant (part 3)

Maybe we can even convince tcod to take the plunge too.
The big girl thread makes it all too real though!
I spent today cursing bodge, our absent and useless builder as I had to chip out the kitchen tiles he so kindly plastered (badly) over and individually replace 50 mosaic squares. I hope the little swi.nes ears are burning! Back is bugg.ered now though. I also think i've started nesting already which is very upsetting as I hate cleaning! After doing the tiles I spent 2 hours scrubbing all of the kitchen units which then I realised (when finished) was a totally pointless exercise as I have to paint the ceiling and walls and I'm really messy at painting.:rotfl: baby brain + nesting= waste of time!
Was in b&q before and they have loads of easy plant (6 & 9) packs pf bedding plants for £1. Will spend tomorrow flitting between painting kitchen and planting some pots and baskets for outside.
Thanks bluebell & lilmiss for the advice. I need to just calm down and fight my corner I think. My heart condition isn't treated with medication (they initially gave me beta blockers which gave me the bp of a corpse!) and this is the first time they've banged on about it as an area for concern. Unless they can come up with some real evidence or there is a real risk they can show me i'm staying home!
Will carry on reading now!...0 -
Oh I'd love to go get some more flowers. I bought some a few weeks back and they have all come on beautifully. The last few years of infertility have seen my nurturing instinct put into the garden and in quite proud of my roses and things! But can't beat some fresh petunias and things in spring.
Maybe I'll sneak out.. Pretty sure gardening is on my banned list though. I did water the plants today and nearly flooded the garden. My neighbour called to tell me it was filling up as the hose end had popped off and it was flowing freely on the patio! Baby brain....0 -
Evening ladies. Is anyone else feeling invisible due to the World Cup? Wish I could disappear for three weeks!0

Oh me too...I have done no gardening this year and I really miss it
I did loads the last couple of years and I think the garden is suffering for me not doing it this summer. We have two beds with no flowers in at all yet! I would probably be ok but hubby is adamant I should not do it due to the exertion and also potential of cat poo in the soil - I keep trying to tell him that I'd be fine wearing gloves but he is having none of it! And since I have been spotting this week simply after going up and down a few stairs there is no way he will be letting me anywhere near it.

When does it start? I have no idea! Luckily hubby is not into football. Nor am I obviously!0 -

Yes Daisiegg we are fortunately football free here too.
Had one of those moments pg is about. Little one was kicking so DH was lying with his head on my belly to not miss a single one and those moments are great and do make it worth it:j
Thank god am on a flexi tomorrow. Need to call HR. Having got my matb1 form (daisiegg - I just rang my surgery and went to pick it up later in the week) I now need to double check a few bits before going further. Manager all fine with it.Met DH to be 2010
Moved in and engaged 2011
Married 2012
Bought a house 2013
Expecting our first 2014 :T0 -
Is consultant because of the placenta or were you consultant led anyway? 16 weeks is still really early you have loads of time for it to move and maybe you will be lucky and it will move soon like mine did
my worst weeks were from 17-19 when I bled constantly and then at 20 weeks it had moved already! The sonographer I saw said it is very, very common for people to have placenta previa early in the second trimester and it is only because of earlier scans that we know about it - it used to just not even be picked up on. I know none of this is comforting as I felt exactly the same as you when I was in that position, sorry cxx
I was under consultant due to high risk (age etc) but now I am higher risk and on Open access list etc ..........
Fingers toes & everything crossed it moves......If you can think it........it will happen0 -
Hey all. Just checking in from Gran Canaria. It's hotter every day out here even though they only forecast 24c. It was 23.3 in the main resort at 9pm the other night!
Ankles and subsequently feet are still giving me problems so I've taken at night yo sitting with them in a bucket of cold water before going to sleep with them on 2 pillows and a blanket! Don't know what the maids must think of my bed but needless to say it hasn't aided a good nights sleep as yet. Can't wait for one night at home on Sunday for a decent sleep before I fly to Italy on Monday!!!
Was bad tonight and had a glass or two of wine, I figured that it won't do any harm as it's not like I'm a frequent drinker (a glass every couple of weeks tops), and had to stop the bar owner when he started dishing out free shots to everyone to celebrate the start of the World Cup!
Bump defo expanding this week but that may be the all inclusive food! Oops!No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
Hello all, I've just popped up from the <12 week thread, after my 12 week scan on Monday. My due date got moved to Boxing Day - eek!
It's all become very real this week. I enjoyed sharing the news with family & friends & work this week, but it's been quite overwhelming. Until Monday I thought I might or might not be having a baby - didn't want to count my chickens... Now I've started thinking about maternity leave less than 6 months away and how we need to find a house, save up, and having a baby! Two nights this week I've slept really badly - I'm normally very calm and a good sleeper - I need to chill out! Hopefully will get some sleep tonight...0
