Looks like it's off to physio for me with my shoulder as he can't give me anything for it, not even a gel. Knowing my luck the appointment will come through for when im on holiday! He's not too concerned about it as long as I don't gave breathing problems because it's right between my shoulder blade and spine and deep. Reckons it's probably ligaments starting to stretch there.
Had some bad news today about someone I know who's only 3 weeks in front of me so I came home from work and had a good cry. Just spoke to hubby on FaceTime though so feel a bit better after that. Can't wait to have him home tomorrow, he should be here just after I finish work and hopefully with arms ready to give the huge cuddle I need right now.No longer ...tobe! Daisy, I'm also another one who's going back at 23 weeks to have the 20 week scan finished, hoping this time they can also find out the sex.
I wasn't told it was because of too much maternal covering, but I'm sure that played a part, that and the fact that mine wouldn't move down from where it had squished myself up into my placenta.
only reason I may be at a higher risk of pre eclampsia is because I'm over 40! which just sucks, I'm not that much over 40!0 -
MrsC, I'm getting sore around my shoulder too. Same as last pregnancy, but the physio did help. I'm going to book myself in again soon for a session.
Sorry to hear about what a rubbish time people have been having x
I'm back from holiday a day early, because we've had a miserable few days with a sick toddler, who just wanted to go home and watch telly. Now we're home he seems to be eating better again, as the food that we could get into him over the last few days seemed to go straight through (or back out). Not fun in a tent, even if it was a big posh one with running water0 -
Hi everyone.
I tried to stay away from the Internet last night as was just making myself worry. Plus my little man wouldn't settle anywhere other than in bed with me so I ended up having a very early night. I think it is headed the same way tonight!
Anyway I have a scan booked in for tomorrow afternoon so will talk properly to the specialist midwife then . I chatted to her briefly today and feel more positive generally. Thank you for thinking of me. I will update you!
Bluebell hope your little boy feels better soon!
Dais I am sure that they would tell you if they suspect anything wrong. Sometimes they just can get the right angle.
MrsC I suffer with Rsi and had a steroid injection before getting pregnant. My specialist said it would be safe to have another in the third trimester if I needed. Might be worth exploring options for referral with your gp? I'm going to try and avoid it if I can but I was in a lot of pain before and it helped so much that I will just play it by ear.
That's a tough situation with the stepkids. I don't envy you. I personally wouldn't bother with the presents for siblings unless you were doing it for younger children too. I was 7 when my parents did that for me when my brother was born. I liked getting a present but totally saw right through the "your brother bought it for you" story. I got wound up by adults lying to me when little even if it was good intentions.
Lemon hugs. Try not to worry too much about the risk. If aspirin is not good for you then they will just have to come up with something else or monitor you more closely. If age is the only additional risk factor it sounds like a bit of overkill anyway.
Monty that is frustrating. A good pram lasts a longer period than you'd think, but we didn't shell out as much as I wanted to. We swapped for a cheap one when little man was 10 mths old. There are some really good compromises out there and I'm determined not to buy new this time or replace anything pram included unless absolutely necessary. The urge to splurge wore off for me!
Jen what a donkey's backside he is! At least you didn't have to spend the last few days with him. Blessings in disguise and all that.
T2D excellent combination of nap and dinner service. Shame about the politicians!
I've been keeping up, but boy is stirring so I know that I haven't covered everyone. I'll pop back tomorrow.

Evening ladies
Sorry to hear everyone is having aches and pains. I am quite lucky from that respect and touch wood, I haven't really suffered any. I have however had a bloody cold for just over 2 weeks now and it's really hacking me off! I was getting better last week but seems to have come back! Constant coughing when I try to sleep and snotty nose :mad:
On a positive note I am finally getting the hang of knitting and have almost knitted my little girl a blanket so feeling very chuffed with myself.
Seems we are a step closer to moving now and should be completing around the end of June so I will finally be able to buy things!0 -
Thanks Lixi. I do suffer from RSI/tendon inflammation in my right wrist and doc (different to today's one) basically told me to stop doing as much with my right hand and gave me a gel that I haven't used since just before I found out I was pregnant (was playing in a comp where anti-doping legislation came in so I had to stop it a couple of weeks before). Bizarrely my wrist hasn't bothered me since then! Will see how it goes with the physio and if no joy will be back to the gp again. I do like the one i was at today and trust him....it was him that I threw the pregnancy test at and told him it was a complete effing waste of time prescribing me pills the week before! Lol.
As for the step kids, I don't know the best route to take, been trying not to think about it as I've been thinking of the other people tonight with the bad news today. Sad face. The next few months are going to be tough as I'll see the husband regularly and he's going to be faced with my growing pregnancy while he doesn't have the joy that he should have. Not easyNo longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
Why do I even bother trying to have breakfast only for it to end up down the loo every morning?
May just give up on it and have an extra 15 mins in bed...!

Hi all
Aw daisi that is poo.
Sorry to hear everyone is having a tough time. And sorry to hear about your friend mrsc. I keep hearing things like that and it really scares me.
Good luck today lixi.
Been feeling pretty good last week or so (sorry ladies) - no headaches more energy. Is this the 2nd trimester bloom coming on? I hope so!
Had a really good day yest. Asked to be godmother of my best mates bubba, and OH felt our bubs kick for first time. Was amazing. Just so nice to share it with him. We couldn't wipe the smile off our faces.
Hope you all enjoy the lovely sunshine today.
Sewit :hello: glad to hear you're doing well xx0 -
Hi Ladies
I'm finally recovered from my girlie weekend which was amazing but very tiring.
Mrs C my shoulder has been hurting me ever since I found out that I was pregnant but I've been able to just get on with it as it's not the worst pain that I've had to live with. It mainly hurts when I reach too far, or put a lot of pressure on it so am hoping it's just to do with ligaments stretching.
Hubby and I bought our pram yesterday, we got this one and the matching carrycot. Definitely a lot more than I wanted to pay for a pram but it's going to be better for me to use. Oh and hubby chose the designer look :rotfl:.
We also bought the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Essentials set from Toys R Us for £49.96 rather than the discounted price of £69.99. I now realise that when I showed them the page on the website of the better price it was for a different set but they didn't notice it so put the discount through anyway. I'm not sure if it deserves a :money: or a lot of these:o:o:o:o:o:o:o :rotfl:.
To everyone having really bad times at work, I completely understand as I'm spending at least one day a week wanting to cry if not actually crying. I was like this before but the pregnancy hormones are definitely making it a lot worse as I can't stop the crying once I start.
Hubby was rubbing my stomach last night before he rolled over to go to sleep and I told him it won't be long until sproglet starts answering back :rotfl:.
Anyways it's meant to be the hottest day of the year over the weekend which means it's probably going to rain but today is my last day off work with hubby and so we're going to go and enjoy a carvery and go and watch Godzilla.
Have a great day ladies.DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D
