Part Mouse - I cannot believe the difficulty you are having in getting the right number and actually speaking to someone! Its ridiculous.

Can I join the club of feeling rubbish? Had the first appointment with the FS and left feeling optimistic. OH though is now suggesting he is not bothered about having a child. I am really upset as he has never said this before, I don't know if he is having a panic over how its become serious or whether he had thought this all along. Spent yesterday ignoring him and we are going to talk about it later. I just worry that if he is being difficult at the beginning what will happen if things take a long time and we have to go all the way to IVF.

ouch I hope your oh can put your mind at rest with a chat. Horrid though when you feel like its not something you both equally want :(

I have to say im at the end of my tether with it all :( I hoped that as my fs was now part of a team things would be better but its got much much worse. I fear im going to get to 5 months of bleeding and as the hormones arnt stopping it what an earth do I do? I don't have any funding, no appt all I have is some sh@tty hormones that don't do anything :( and I can't even get to speak to her.

Yes it was a shock Tea Lover on Weds when said to stick to three meals only a day and low Carb, high protein and drink lots of water (i knew about the water bit from prep talk).

Thanks, no Pret near me but had a chicken breast for lunch and scrambled eggs yesterday. I have never been a breakfast person (as had chocolate or crisps at 11… needless to say I ate my lunch at 12 today h:rotfl: I might need to consider breakfast options!

I was told no fruit juice or fruit either between meals. Basically nothing (apart from a few nuts if needs be)!

That's really interesting Star, we were not told anything about diet really on our first cycle and only finding out now from my acupuncturist importance of protein etc. (I'm forever eating fruit as always trying to lose weight :rotfl: ). I believe the protein is important for egg quality but did they say why low carb?

PM, I'm not surprised you are at your wits end! I can't believe how they are treating you, could you go to see your FS in person and demand that something be done? It's harder to fob someone off when they are in front of you and annoyed.

Oh PM :( I do understand. I know its not exactly the same situation but I have had that feeling when trying (and failing) to get hold of someone at the clinic and not knowing whats going on with your own body. It's just a job to them isn't it and they don't seem to realise how completely and utterly it messes with peoples lives. Do you have a follow up app. booked for when you finish the drugs next tuesday? (Sorry if you've already said and I missed it).

The clinic didn't tell me anything about diet or vitamins. I can't remember if I worried when DR'ing, the last time I did short protocol. I'd start the vitamins etc early on, as I guess they all influence the egg development even before it starts growing in earnest.

When I did the DR, over a year ago, I was so f'ing depressed I suspect I let myself eat what I wanted! And that was the cycle I got the most fertilised eggs, so who knows.

I think the no carbs thing is mainly as it makes you bloat, and you will be bloating anyway so don't need more. Plus the sugar in carbs probably isn't great for growing anything (apart from my waistline!)
