Well I had the HSG on Thursday and it was very painful. Like I was crying and writhing and squeezing the poor nurses hand. I'm wondering if the fact it hurt means there are blockages after all? She didn't tell me anything, just that the images go to my consultant.

I hope what I've heard about being 'extra fertile' after a HSG is true. Trying SMEP this month.

So sorry it was horrible Millie. I think it's when they open your cervix that causes the pain. I'm not sure but I think it's like when I had my coil fitted and nearly passed out with pain. How stupid I was to bother with contraception!
I hope you're feeling better now? Did they let a partner go with you?

    Hi everyone,
Just having a catch up on thread - been so busy at work.
Tomorrow... I am booked in for my lap and dye/hysteroscopy. Had a massive panic after pre-op as nothing had been said about how I really should be on hormones if any chance of my period coming. And Thursday I was told it was too late to start said hormones. Today, I have only had a tiny tiny bit of spotting so hoping hoping that if it does start tomorrow it will only be light. After 6 months of waiting, really don't want it to be cancelled!!!!!

Star! So happy to see your news, hoping it's all going well!

Tam, thanks for your advice the other day... hope you are doing ok. Are you still on bedrest?

Laura, glad to hear you have option of NHS cycles!

    Choc, how you doing?

Everyone else: HELLO! and welcome to any newbies, sorry you find yourselves here.

    Hi all,
Ahh glad things are going well Tam :)

So I had my lap and dye/hysteroscopy and despite all my panicking, it was fine to go ahead!
Been referred for IVF as a result... She said even if I were to conceive naturally, I would be at high risk of ectopic as my tubes so slow. She said ovaries/tubes v damaged. Probably born that way!
So although was rather gutted to hear that, she was very good about us going straight for IVF and there isn't a waiting list luckily so can get started ASAP.
    Thinking of you all xxxx

  • Elles - Glad you don't have to wait for the IVF :)

So I'm back for bloods tomorrow to see whether this attempt has worked, though I already know it hasn't. Been spotting since last Thursday and have had negative HPT's so another failed attempt. Had a full on breakdown over it, if I knew that at some point it would work then I wouldn't mind putting myself through it so much, but to go through all this for nothing is a horrible thought. I've really struggled with this FET, the hormones have been horrendous, I can't sleep because my boobs are so sore and swollen and I just feel like the slightest thing can set me off. I hate all this :(

Oh Choc :( I am so sorry. You are so right in that if you knew it would take X number of attempts then you could cope with it, but putting yourself through it over and over must be so hard. Big hugs and thinking of you xx

Elles - glad you are feeling OK after your lap and sorry about the results but at least you can straight on with treatment.

Choc - so sorry you think it's another negative. I hope you can hide away and look after yourselves and that the clinic has a way forward for you.

As for me - as I was about to sit down to go on MSE, AF arrived :( No spotting at all which is unusual. So on we go to the next cycle. We had our first appointment yesterday and everyone seemed nice. DH is pleased as his results sound better than our GP suggested. I'm now waiting for an internal scan and an hsg and feeling scared about the pain :(

This week has been pretty carp really. Car in the garage, dog in the vets and this morning I had to have root canal treatment :( Roll on next week!

  • Evening ladies

Test was negative so confirmed what I already knew :(

Need some time to think about whether I can put myself through it all again. Wishing you all well but I may just step away from here for a little while until I get my head round it all
