My problem is a lack of moderation lol. I can eat a few crisps, I can drink one beer (hardly ever drink at all these days anyway), I can have a small piece of cheese, but I can't stop at one or two biscuits.... before I know it the packet has disappeared lol.
Need to look at my goals, I don't know if I want to lose more or not. Am currently 9 stone 11 (was 9-8 before christmas got me). At 5'7" that's an ok weight. Probably need to focus on the emotional eating more than anything else.
Was planning on getting back on MFP on Monday. Awarded myself a fortnight off over Christmas and thought back to work day would be the right time to start logging again. Just not feeling it though. Feel v sorry for myself and miss my Grandad
Tea, I'm only an inch and a half taller than you and weight almost double minus a stone or two (damn you anticonvulsants!), so you have nothing to worry about. You maybe need to focus on strength rather than cardio at the gym - you can really shape your body beautifully with the right exercises.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Thanks for all the hugs guys!
I've just started running again but am using an app called Zombie Run, which plays a post apocalyptic radio show with your own music mixed in while you run about and 'collect' useful items depending on how far and how long you run for. Makes it into a bit of a game which I find inspires me more lol it doesn't give you a detailed 'run for this long this week' approach but is still pretty good!
One of my close friends has just had a baby but doesn't know about my situation, do you think it would be rude to ask another friend to drop a new baby gift round on my behalf? Think it's too soon to be facing newborns...
Code, if you're sounding snobby then I think we must all be snobs alongside you! I get so cross when I see pregnant adolescents outside thr maternity unit smoking and swearing, why do they get to have a baby and I can't? !0 -
I don't think that would be rude at all smookle. Getting them a present at all is a really kind thing to do, and shows what a lovely person you are. They'll be in such a newborn fog anyway I doubt they'll think too deeply about who drops the gift off.
Have heard good things about Zombie Run.0 -
Completely agree Code, my spelling mistakes tend to be more because my fingers get carried away on my keyboard and run faster than my brain.
Went into town earlier to get a case for my phone so I can try and go jogging tomorrow and listen to the Couch to 5k. Town just seemed to be filled of 14 years olds with push chairs, my hope that they were lovely kind sisters and brothers is probably unfounded.
I hate myself for tutting at young parents, my friend's parents had her sister at a late age, so she was about 15 when her sister was born. As her parents worked full time, she looked after her sister a lot. I was surprised at the time how much people judged her when she was out and about with her baby sister, thinking she was a young parent.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -
Smookle, I don't think that would be a problem. In fact, the last couple of times I've dropped off baby gifts, the new parents have been to exhausted to even look at them, let alone thank me so probably best to avoid.
In fact, one of my 'friends' posted a very entitled article on what they expect people coming over to visit the baby to do and it was things like bringing food from high end restaurants and not something you've cooked yourself, bring gifts even if you already gave one, don't take photos, do all their housework and not rocking the baby . I thought it was pretty rude. I usually do the dishes or something but I made a point of not doing hers. And I rocked the baby (I sang Smoke on the Water to him). Another friend said people could not see the baby without proof they'd been vaccinated and a clear throat swab from the doctor, but get this, she isn't vaccinating the baby.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. code.... You need some different friends. :eek:0

Code, are your friends for real?! I've never heard of anything so selfish or hypocritical!
AFM it's now 20 days after my u/s and trigger, and still no sign of anything, another bfn this morning. Thought this would make me regular, not disappear! Think I might give the hospital a call and see what they say. I'm not expecting a bfp, I just want to know what's happening!0 -
Code I can't believe your friends?! That's just unreal, it would never even occur to me the things they're demanding.
Appointment yesterday went OK, signed some more forms, had an internal scan ( lovely! ), did anyone else have to fight the urge not to laugh? Just watching the doctor put a condom over the wand thing then rubbing lube over it, don't know if it was just the nerves but I found it all a bit weird and had to stop myself from laughing
Have to go and get some more bloods done, then back at the end of February to have another chat and to be shown how to do the injections etc then start everything on the 1st March :eek:New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

I felt like laughing too. From the outside, its a pretty hilarious looking thing. I got my scan in the maternity bit (thanks fertility clinic!) so they had a massive screen at ceiling level so I got to see my ovaries and uterus and the radiographer pointed out things to me - I was just about to ovulate and she pointed out the follicle so it was quite fascinating.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Hi all, and happy new year!
Tea, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather. They're so special aren't they.
Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear your most recent cycle didn't workMassive hugs xx
Sorry for you too, Smookle. I hope you aren't pressuring yourselves too much to make a decision immediately. Also completely get where you're at with the friends issue - we've had a few babies born to friends lately, and my immediate instinct is to avoid them to protect myself
Selina, I can't imagine how hard it was to find out on Xmas day, when there's so much else going on. I hope you're doing ok. I bet you'll be a fabulous auntie too, congratulations.
Welcome to our board Harley, hope you don't have to be here long, and find it helpful while you need it! I found Rosemary Conley classes brilliant for losing weight (although I fell off the wagon a bit after an illness last summer). Although the company's gone bust, you might still find something similar locally? Vesper, I'd no idea you'd lost so much! Well done!!
Glad the appointment went well Chocoholic. It sounds like things are really moving alongI'm like you and Code, too, I find scans surreal and fascinating.
Shrimpy - I'd say ALWAYS follow up to check referrals and appointments are being made - more than once I uncovered mistakes and was able to correct them, saving masses of time and heartache.
As for me, I'm well and truly on the countdown to our first (and only NHS) short protocol IVF cycle. I think I ovulated on Saturday, so should be starting about a fortnight later, if everything goes smoothly. So far I've been off the booze, eating well and taking a couple of extra supplements in addition to the usual conception multi-vit. The drugs are all collected and waiting at home in our brand new fridge (long story - we live on a boat and our old one is 12v and rubbish - it regularly freezes things - too risky for meds - s we've bought one specially for the drugs!). Pink, I wouldn't expect you to be updating lists, but if you did, mine would now be awaiting AF to begin 1st short protocol IVF cycle, expected end January 2015!
How are you doing Skaps and everyone else who's starting treatments soon?
Tea - did you find a flute in the end?
