That's interesting code - what's the reason for the salty snacks?

Something about salt being needed for something in your body chemistry to heat your body and thus trigger your metabolism and because most diets say to drink so much water, you wee most of it out. Or something.

    Its free on kindle atm.

It sounds really strane but it tells you to eat things when your hands and feet are cold and this happened at lunchtime. So I ate a roast veg and cream cheese wrap and a pizza roll with mega salty serrano ham and now my hands are warm again.

I can't remember a time when my feet weren't cold - they're always like blocks of ice.

    Hi ladies

Haven't posted for a while but have been reading and thinking of you all. Sorry for the bfns Smookle, Lisa and Selina and really sorry to hear about your loss Tea x

Code - utterly gobsmacked to read the comments your relatives came out with. Literally speechless (if you can be literally speechless when you're typing?)

Chocoholic_chick - no real words of advice having not been through it myself but just wanted to empathise on your colleague. My boss and I share an office, his wife found out she was pg just before Christmas. Today I have had an in-depth discussion on prams and maternity benefits. They are both lovely people who have no idea I am TTC but right now I don't know how I'm going to get through the next 6 months. Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow.

Nothing to report for me which is why I haven't really been posting, just awaiting our next appointment in April which will be to get referred for IVF. Am meant to have an ultrasound and the dye thingy I always forget the name of in the meantime but nothing has come through so need to chase that up I suppose. They are just box ticking exercises in my case I think as I have had an MRI recently which confirmed everything was fine.

Can't seem to find it now reading back but whoever mentioned Couch to 5k - I've just finished week 5 and am loving it! There is a free app you can download that talks you through each session, the voiceover woman is a bit annoying but you can play iTunes or whatever at the same time to keep you going. I usually listen to Jillian Michaels' podcasts and imagine she is looming over me screeching ;)

I did the Couch to 5k before, I really liked it, but my mum decided to do it with me and it put me off. Then I lost interest.
I must get it put back on my phone and give it ago. Might try and drag the bike out again as well.
My BMI is something like 32.0 (yeah I know). I just look at something bad and put on weight. Hence not being able to eat anything good all of xmas.
Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.
  • I am an Auntie yet again! Cant complain because she is beautiful, pulled myself together and went wandering through the baby section in Asda.

I'm in exactly the same boat as the weight loss people, took my TSH levels right to start losing weight. Now I'm taking Orlistat, I cant take that much due to interactions with other medications, I also teamed it with exercise 5/7 and a better diet, between July and December I lost over 7 BMI points and about 42lbs. I'm still a BMI of 40 but due to my age (41) the gynae gave me Clomid, I was in hysterics in the waiting room because I was something like 0.05 under what they wanted and I thought they'd send me away again.

Perhaps we should start the weight challenge. I havent been to the gym apart from Sunday in a month and I'm currently eating biscuits for breakfast! I'm aiming for another 30lbs over the next 4 months!

I need some weightloss motivation too. Was doing really well - lost 23 lbs up to Christmas Eve then it's all gone wrong! Am up at least 3lbs already.

Did go to the gym yesterday (and loved it, even though the flipping air con is broken again), but it's not enough to undo the damage caused by terrible eating habits. Was doing so well but my brain just goes "sad = biscuits".

tea, I'm back using MFP so I see your updates. I'll shout if I don't see a weight loss recorded regularly. :p

But, having said that, a few lbs back on when you've lost 23 is fine. It happens. :) Don't dwell on it, focus now on how much you want to lose from where your weight is now. :)

And, you don't have to give up the biscuits completely. I run and cycle so much because I like my food. :D

Can I just have a rant please? This is going to sound horrible and snotty and elitist but...I'm so sick of seeing people on facebook who have multiple children and they can't even spell or punctuate or use basic grammar (those with dyslexia aside). We're going to have an entire generation of people who think the correct spelling of our is "are". How are these kids going to get help with their English homework when their parents can't tell the difference between there, their and they're, let alone know what a pronoun is.

I'm not suggesting that people should have to sit a literacy test to have a baby. Just that when I can't, it seems so unfair.

    Weird, bitter person rant over.

My problem is a lack of moderation lol. I can eat a few crisps, I can drink one beer (hardly ever drink at all these days anyway), I can have a small piece of cheese, but I can't stop at one or two biscuits.... before I know it the packet has disappeared lol.

Need to look at my goals, I don't know if I want to lose more or not. Am currently 9 stone 11 (was 9-8 before christmas got me). At 5'7" that's an ok weight. Probably need to focus on the emotional eating more than anything else.

Was planning on getting back on MFP on Monday. Awarded myself a fortnight off over Christmas and thought back to work day would be the right time to start logging again. Just not feeling it though. Feel v sorry for myself and miss my Grandad :(

Code - totally agree. I don't care if that makes me a snob, I still agree :rotfl:
