Welcome harleyquinn, I haven't reached the stage of being referred for Ivf, but I have been told I am most likely to require it, and if I do I will be refused at the moment as I am too heavy. I always knew I would be, but it is a really good incentive. I have lost about 18kg so far at have another 6 to go. Have reached a plateaux at the moment especially with Xmas. But am chuffed I haven't put on weight over Xmas, although I cut out all of the yummy bits of Xmas.
Just had a wonderful couple of days away for new year with hubby. Was lovely getting away from everything and had a bit of time together. Hubby's promotion and therefore new job starts next month along with the house move so we won't get to spend much time together as he is going on nights, but the wage is far too good. Luckily he works word continental shifts so only actually works 7 days out of 14.
Next hospital appointment is on the 20th so not long really especially with everything else going on.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -
Good luck vesper on your next appointment thing is I believe we are now in limbo until I get this weight off which I know will come off as have lost 2 stone already just that I'm at the stage where I can't wait to actually get the whole thing started xxharleyxx0

Good luck Harvey. The first bit of weight lost it was fine and easy. But it's hard now. Need to find something extra exercise wise to help. Can any one help.? I already do 3 dance classes a week. I live in a rural area but I don't know what will be in the new Town.
Very nervous about moving somewhere new. It's only 14 miles from my current home but I don't know much about it. Luckily my closest friend half lives there well her partner does.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -
Morning all
Vesper have you tried running? Really worked for me in the past, there's loads of couch to 5k challenges and you're bound to have a local running group you could join
Starting to get really nervous about our appointment tomorrow now. Ended up in tears the other night worrying about if it doesn't work, a few people at work have announced pregnancies lately, one of whom I sit next to. How am I meant to come in to work and sit next to a pregnant lady if I go through the whole process of ICSI and it doesn't workTrying to get the right balance of positive optimism while anticipating it won't work, not easy.
I've put on a fair bit weight since we were first referred for IVF, does anyone know what your BMI has to be under to be accepted? Worried I might be over that nowNew House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

chocoholic_chick - I think most areas will only do IVF if your BMI is less than 30, but check with your individual clinic.
(((hugs))) my love. I found our cycle incredibly stressful for all the reasons you describe. It is good if you can stay realistic about the chances of success, but a bit positive/hopeful. I know that's easier said than done!
The reality is that a BFN is really hard no matter what mindset you had during treatment. The best advice I can give is to simply take life one day at a time during a cycle. The whole thing is too overwhelming and each stage of treatment is dependent on the last stage working. You can't think too far ahead or you'll get panicked. Your mood will also be up and down on the drugs, so you just take each day as it comes, deal with what needs to happen that day, and don't think beyond that.
And we'll all be here when you're stressing and need to talk.
HarleyQuinn2016 - sorry you find yourself here, but welcome. We'll look after you in here.Good luck with the rest of your weight loss. This is a great motivator!
On that note, who else here is doing some New Year weight loss? We need a TATOTTCWIJNH Fit Club.
I've put on a stone since the start of our IVF cycle in August, some during treatment and some since. I'm still at the upper end of my healthy weight range (currently 24.1 BMI) but I feel happier with my body at my 'normal' weight that I like to be. I lost three stone a few years back then maintained pretty well until the last few months. Need to now focus and lose this stone before it becomes more.
Back onto MyFitnessPal for calorie counting, and need to get back into exercise. I gave up running and cycling (bike, not IVF!) when we had our IVF cycle as they said no high impact exercise and I've not got back into it.I've got so unfit so quickly! Back on it this week, and dieting properly food-wise from next week when we should have finished the last of the Christmas leftovers.

Thanks pink. My BMI is 26.2, so in the overweight category but hoping it'll be OK. Want to lose about a stone, really overindulged lately so feeling sluggish and clothes are a little too snug! So definitely on the weight loss challenge myself, first thing is I'm going to cut out the alcohol now that treatment will be starting.
I don't know what to expect tomorrow, they said in the info pack I'll be having an internal scan, but will they also give me my schedule of when I'll start treatment, is that what normally happens?
HarleyQuinn2016 good luck with the weight loss, I'm sure it'll not be long until you've lost what you need to so you can start treatmentNew House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

Every clinic's different, but at our first consultation they explained the IVF process, what drugs to take when etc and answered any questions we had about that. Then they did an internal scan for their records.
I then had to phone up on CD1 (start of my next period) to 'book in' for that month. The nurses noted the date and prepared a treatment schedule which was posted out to me. They also ordered all the drugs for me.
So, treatment wasn't scheduled in detail at the consultation as it depends on when your next cycle starts.0 -
I'm currently doing diet rehab - which is a program to 'fix' my metabolism after years of yoyo dieting has destroyed it. Its counter-intuitive as all food eaten has to be full fat and carbs and salt are important. You have to eat at least 3 meals per day and if you get hungry between meals, you need to eat something salty.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

That's interesting code - what's the reason for the salty snacks?0
