Mad isn't it?! No wonder the results vary so much when we're all being told totally different things.

I reckon they're just making it up as they go along!

They might well be! Making it up as they go does sound like a logical explanation for it :rotfl:

Ooh exciting times danielley! When did you start DR-ing?

frozenpenguin I started on the buserelin injections on 04/06/14.

I'm on a long protocol and due back at the clinic on 25/06/14 for the baseline scan. I think after that the plan is to start on merionel (the stims) and hopefully EC a week or 2 after that? Can anyone advise what date they think i'll be having EC if I start stimming on 26/06/14?

I am physically finding the injections ok, but I am struggling mentally. I don't know if it is the medication or simply a build up of anticipation ... I am so beyond the point of being patient and I seem unable to think about anything else but TTC. It feels like my whole life is on hold, holidays, work, socialising, everything!

I am one of life's worriers and I keep trying to talk to my OH about 'what ifs' relating to things not working out, like 'should we ask for 2 embryos to be put back' (providing we get 2) or 'what will happen if it doesn't work' (we only get 1 funded), 'would he re-consider adoption?' but he refuses to discuss them, saying 'we'll cross that bridge when we come to it' ....which I know is his way of saying stay positive for now, but I find it hard!

On a much more positive note I'm DELIGHTED to recognise so many names on the graduation list!!

    Hugs to all!

Danielley, I can highly recommend the IVF Belief CD. It really helped me to stay calm and talk myself down during my second cycle. I was in a much better mental state than during the first cycle where I wound myself up to breaking point.

Other CDs also available of course :)

Danielly I can also recommend listening to a relaxation CD. I had Bree Taylor Molyneux and what seems like ridiculous affirmations ("My ovaries are ripe and full of life") did make me much calmer about the whole thing. I used to listen to them on the tube on the way to work! So you don't have to be in a trance, I just closed my eyes and tried to feel positive.

I also got a sleep track (Sleep hypnosis by positive life therapy) which helped a lot as not sleeping was a big problem before and making me more stressed.

I got my forms from the OFU so we have filled them all out and put them in the post tonight! Got to have some blood tests redone, did anyone have any problems getting the GP to do these for them? I got weirdly upset seeing the forms, like its all real now.

Nope just called and booked with nurse - she did ask (literally as she was putting the needle in) if it was an NHS or private cycle as she "shouldn't really be doing them for a private cycle" (it wasn't but you could easily be economical with the truth if necessary). She was a bit sniffy about it but that was it.
