Hi Pickle, is the doctor sending the IVF paperwork now? I would not wait to start the process until you get back from your holiday. You can always delay the start if your cycle clashes. For me it took 6 months from referral to starting IVF.

    Well done Frozen.

Hello ladies. I wrote a massive post out and then the site crashed and I lost it.

Sorry for your loss chickpea. I hope they can get to the bottom of it. I'm a total believer in mental health days so hope you can get some sick leave.

    Tea, hope AF starts soon.

PM - glad you're making progress.

Good luck to the PUPO ladies and those starting their cycles.

Spent last night in a very posh hotel which was great but caught sight of myself in the full-length mirror (something I avoid at home) and I look horrendous so definitely need to up the effort on the diet and exercise front. But then I had a steak dinner, and breakfast this morning and I just had some pizza. Oops.
Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.
  • Thanks everyone for your best wishes - I dozed on and off most of the afternoon with paracetamol and a hot water bottle and have started to feel a bit better, quite sore and bruised but I was expecting that anyway.

tea, chickpea, RG, PM, fairy, isla, peonie and everyone else - thank you very much for your encouragement, it's difficult but I definitely need to keep thinking with a PMA; like you've all said, it's quality not quantity. The embryologist did say they looked like 5 good eggs and she was pretty hopeful for a 70% fertilisation rate. They're gonna call tomorrow between 8 and 10 in the morning so I'll know more then. I didn't get much sleep last night, now I'm not sure how much sleep I'm going to get tonight!

As for DH's SA - he had to ask the embryologist to repeat the result, he was so suprised! If I hadn't been in so much pain, I would've fallen off the bed in shock. His first SA in 2012 had 0% morphology and they told us if that had been his IVF sample, then would have had to cancel the cycle. DH thought last years 9 million result was just a fluke so I've no idea what's made it now 21 million. (makes you wonder whether they mixed up the sample pots!).
The only things he's done differently over the last year are taking Wellman conception vitamins, eating lots of oranges and drinking orange juice, snacking on brazil nuts, sitting on the sofa in the evening with a cold flannel on his nuts and giving them a blast of cold water in the shower. He did lose almost a stone last autumn but put most of it back on over Christmas.

PM - good luck for your appointment next week, I know how long it's taken you, let us know how it goes, we're all here thinking of you xx

Hi chocgirl - hope you stay here is short (meant in the nicest possible way)

Apologies, I seem to have written an essay - congrats if you've managed to read this far! :D
Hugs to everyone (especially chickpea) xxxx

    Well done Frozen.

Really? Was this private or NHS, I assumed that since we are private it would happen pretty much when we said so (I'm to old for NHS treatment *sniff*).

I have another appt with the gynaecologist soon when he's got all my tests together so I guess I'll ask then if I need to start the process.
  • Just had the call - can't quite believe it but all 5 eggs were ICSI'ed yesterday and this morning all 5 have fertilised successfully.

The embryologist is going to ring each day to let us know how they're getting on but I'm provisionally booked in for a 5 day transfer on Saturday at 10.30am.

Gonna treat ourselves to breakfast at a local farm shop - try and get over the shock!

Apologies for not name checking everyone, will check in later, hugs to all you lovely ladies xxx
