Hello all.
Sorry to hear your news chickpea *hugs* I really hope that the dr can suggest something to prevent it happening...
RG - Glad to hear its not all over, fingers (and eyes) crossed for you, and all those PUPO.
Good luck FP
AFM: FS appt on Friday was good, he looked over my notes and did another internal scan, which he said was all fine, he even printed the photos out so we could have a good peer and OH could have a look too. He's going to do some more blood tests. He talked us through the IVF process and the costs etc (I already mostly knew but wanted my husband to hear it). He seemed a massive advocate of having a few drinks
All in all nothing new, but its good to have it all checked and not just be told a blank "your fine" (what does FINE mean, it certainly doesn't mean I'm pregnant!). Current plan is to wait till after our holiday in late May then join the IVF train (unless a miracle happens before then!).0 -
Doing short protocol so don't use burserelin sorry LA2 angels in heaven :A0

Chickpea So sorry. Big hugs to you xx
Frozen Good luck today! Let us know how you get onxx
Loveactually I was on short protocol so had to take Buserelin for 3 days at the start of my cycle & I took it at 9pm, I took all my injections at 9pm. I would inject myself and then reward my bravery with a nice warm bath
SewIt/RG Hope you are both doing well. SewIt did you not say you were on Zita West's supplements? I'm on it but not sure whether to stop my Vitafem Boost now that the embryos are I or carry on until I get a positive?
Tea Hope AF turns up soon
Hugs to anyone I've missed or who needs them xx
AFM Had cramps Saturday night after transfer, had that first time too so just relaxed on the sofa for the rest of the day & most of the day yesterday. Finding the cyclogest is making me feel bloated too as I keep waking up with a sore tummy during the night. Also having weird dreams, last night it was a BeJewelled type game but instead of gems you had to get 3 or more embryos, the more embryos you matched up the more points you got!?! Hi everyone, can I join you?
Been on the other thread for over a year, ttc since 08\12. I was 40 in January, OH is 44 and has 2 kids from a previous relationship.
Been using cb fertility monitor for a year but no joy. Last 6 months or so been noticing some odd cycles where I got highs but no peak which I am assuming means no ov. AF turns up at odd times on those cycles (either early or late). Rang docs a couple of weeks ago to be told they are booked up for the next month, I am going to ring again at end of feb to get appt for April.
Just going to explain the odd cycles thing with the monitor and that oh has kids already (and they were conceived pretty quickly) so its probably not him that's the prob.
OH asked me what they would do, and I said I don't know!! I don't know generally, and have even less idea bearing in mind my age?
Can any of you lovely ladies give me some guidance?
xx0 -
Hi choc girl.
Can't really advise on what the doctors will do for you in that respect, my infertility reasons are known without investigations iykwim but I'm sure others can help with that.
Ringing a month ahead for a doctors appointment is bonkers, what do you do if you are unwell and need seeing? Hope you get an appointment ASAP.
Good luck today Frozen, doing the eggy dance (in my head at least!) for your clutch today.
AFM, endo scratch booked for 2 weeks today, then stims start approx a week later. After the scratch we have our planning appointment, they've booked us in for two slots as I have so many different meds to take, on at least 2 days it seems I have 5 injections to take. My poor bruised body!!!
Oh well, it'll be worth it, right!?!2 angels in heaven :A0 -
Hi Chocgirl
I've never used the CB monitor so no idea about that but just because OH has fathered children previously doesn't mean that it will be you. Sperm counts/quality changes over the years due to many factors such as age, diet, smoking, etc.
When I first went to the Dr I had a 21 day progesterone blood test to see if I was ovulating and day 3 blood tests for LH, FSH, Prolactin & T4. My OH had to provide a sperm sample. I've had swabs, scans & a lap & dye test over the years too.
At your age you only need to be trying for 6 months to get referred off to a fertility clinic. Some PCTs do ivf for women 40-41 (as long as the children don't live with you) so check your local PCT or if you can afford to go private then a local clinic.
Hope that helps you a bit, I'm sure there will be others to offer advice soonxx

Hi chocgirl
they'll probably do some initial blood tests on you (day 3, and 7dpo (not CD21!) to check hormone levels. They may also do a SA on your OH. Levels and quality can change over time so don't assume that because he has children he must be in full working order... although of course am hoping you both are!
If you have any other symptoms (eg. of PCOS or endo) you may be referred for an u/s, or to a gynae.
V much depends on your GP though - some are much better than others.0
