Hi all, sorry that we all still seem to be down in here. I can't help with IVF advice I'm afraid as it's not something we have experienced. We don't qualify for help and can't afford to pay it ourselves (well we probably could, but it would come at the expense of days out and holidays with DS).
PM, I hope that you get through to the hospital and manage to get your delivery in time, I know you've spent a long time taking those drugs so far!
As for me, I was finally signed off by the EPU yesterday. My hpt test on Monday was negative (the only time I've ever wanted it to be so)! They told me to wait for one normal period before trying again. I'm not sure that they really understood that it took us 4years to even get a sniff of a positive this time!!
Problem now being that I thought I was almost passed the hoping and praying each month and had nearly accepted that it was never going to happen, but have almost gone right back to the beginning again....
We'll just have to wait I suppose and see what happens....10/10 [STRIKE]£12,156.26 [/STRIKE] 11/10 [STRIKE]£11,950[/STRIKE] 04/11[STRIKE] £12,500 [/STRIKE]Ooops! Okay, back on track - 01/2014 £2,800, 05/2014 £4,500 (my car died!)

Mrs vics hugs to you.ive got everything crossed that you get your sticky bfp soon.
Afm I'm getting really worried now. I'm being given the run around by the courier/the company sorting out my injections and the hosp haven't returned my calls and urgent message last night0 -
T2d just sent you a pm.0

Pinkteapot - During my IVF I only had one scan during my stimms phase, and one baseline scan, both were was outwith working hours (very early in the morning). As Isla is at the same clinic that I was, its possible to request scans pre/post work then be off 'sick' during the EC/ET phase. Every cycle and clinic is different though!
Hope they sort out the drugs PM, I wasn't on menopur so can't help. x0 -
That's interesting - my clinic said they do scans every other day during stimming, to check for any hyperstimulation signs! isla - if you can get away without having to miss work until EC then I'd probably be tempted by the 'off sick' route too!0

I had scans every other day through both ICSI cycles.0

To cut a long story short i spoke to the on call dr who managed to get some menopur for me to collect from the hosp. I got there and its only enough for 2 days so im out again tommorow
i dont even know when im going to get my meds.

Wow, thanks everyone for such informative responses. It's certainly given me a lot to think about.
It pains me to say it but we've decided to delay until Jan 2015. I'm still in my early 30s plus I have extremely high AMH levels currently and no reason to expect this to fall off a cliff. I've spoken to the clinic and they are happy to put a note on my file after I explained the extenuating circumstances.
I know in my heart of hearts I'm not mentally fit to take on another cycle just now. I also work for such a small team (3) that I don't want to jeopardise my excellent working relationship with my boss by lying when it would be obvious what I am doing given the time off needed for scans etc. Even the early scan times impacted on my being at work because of my usual start time / time required for travel from clinic to the office.
I have to say that my work have been very accommodating but fertility leave is just not something that is offered simply because of the size of the company. I just don't think it's come up before tbh. I travel across the country and having to attend scans on fixed days meant that I was effectively no use to my team for a lot of the time even if I wasn't actively taking leave on those days.
Obviously having a family is my number 1 priority just now but I suppose in the meantime I can plan a holiday to recover mentally from last round, hope that OH finds another job and BD like mad in the search of an elusive BFP!
PM The courier needs a good hard slap!
Edited to add: I should add that this next cycle would also be our last NHS funded one so want to make sure that I am mentally and physically ready to give it our very best shot as we can't afford to pay for private treatment.Sealed Pot Challenge #9550 -
Isla - sounds like a good plan. We ended up having a year between cycles (not planned at the time) but I think it helped in some ways. It's different for everyone but I couldn't have gone straight from one to another without a holiday and some head-space between!0

isla - I'm early 30s too and, as I said, postponed our first IVF cycle for about three months. It was absolutely the right thing for us to do, and I'm so glad we did it. Are you unexplained too? Meaning there's a chance that DTD will work anyway? I think that makes a difference, psychologically. If there was no chance of us managing it ourselves, I might not have postponed.
If our first cycle in July doesn't work, I'll be doing my second in Jan with you.0
