    Hey

So could people email EE today to ask for a cancellation?

    Or is it too late?
Also what email address should be used?

    Thanks

Yes too late - but as one door closes a new one opens - see this forum

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4818999

and go to post #80 on page 4 for a template.

This is great news! It's just occurred to me, should we have asked for the phone to be unlocked from whatever network?

I'm still waiting on EE's defence but I cant seem any reason why mine would be any different.

No - apparently they are not obliged to give you the unlock code, just the PAC code.

I found that some "locked" T-Mobile and Orange phones accept sims from the three network. You can obtain unlock codes on most high streets/markets for a small fee.

    Hi RC

just need some help. My wife had initially sent the first template back in February but she has not had a response since. We were waiting to see what the outcome was. Should we send the email again or go straight to CISAS??

I just called EE to try and cancel, they offered me a more expensive tarrif!

    Unlimited calls and texts
    10gb data
    roaming
    £37.99

At the start of the call i said i didnt want to pay more than what i had agreed too!

  • Thanks for the redirection RC, I have filled in the online form as instructed and have forwarded all email conversations between myself and EE to them as supporting evidence.

Well done to those who have succeeded with getting their contracts cancelled and receiving the unlock codes, let us know how quickly this takes effect.

All that has happened is a re-wording of the T+C's as per OFCOM guidance.

The old T+C's basically said if the operator raised prices by more than RPI you can cancel. Which is the same as the new wording. Just written a bit clearer.

    Non-story.

Just go through the whole process again, but start of by resending the first email and preface with:

" I still do not have received a response to my email below, please can you respond by return so that we can bring this matter to a conclusion"

Then if no response (it must be 8 weeks by about know) - take it to CISAS.

Alternatively just go straight to CISAS after 8 weeks of the first email (but that won't allow you to build the case for compensation). Assuming she wins the cancellation will be back dated to 14 days after the first email anyway so I would go through the whole process to both extend the free use of the networks and build the compensation case

Just came across this thread after receiving my price increase letter on Sat morn. My Orange contract is pre Oct 2012, my wife took hers out in June 2013. Is there any way these can be cancelled? Am I right in thinking we just send the template letter from post #80 on the mobile phone price rises thread? Cheers

    Got another E-Mail from CISAS
original appointed adjudicator is unable to make a decision in the above matter due to unforeseeable circumstances and therefore a substitute adjudicator has been appointed.

    The parties are advised that

    Xxxx Xxxxxxx Xxxxx

has been appointed as adjudicator and that all of the case papers received have been forwarded for consideration.

Get the feeling one adjudicator is getting all the work, to copy and paste decision fingers crossed

Yep, but that is just the start it will probably need 3 or 4 emails in total - and a CISAS case - it will play out very similar as to it has here with EE denying it has done anything wrong. I wil assist along the whole route as always
