Has anyone actually managed to get their £100 on time?
    Mine happened as planned
  • Have transferred my Nationwide FlexDirect account (now the 5% interest has expired) to Co-op (with 2 STOs to meet T&Cs) and just got access to the Internet Banking and Co-op's Internet Banking website is awful! (i thought First Direct's was bad.)

So, just a word of warning - if you're transferring your main current account (which I'm not, thankfully) you might want to try and check out how the Internet Banking looks, and whether you like it. (nationwide's site is good - easy to navigate and drive!)

I agree their online banking is awful.

Why not switch the account to M&S for a £100 voucher instead of throwing it away? Or if you don't like the M&S vouchers, wait for another switching offer?

I forgot about the M&S account, I've got another Nationwide account which I'm saving to switch to Tesco when they launch their new account.

I'll have a read up on M&S at the weekend and switch from Co-op to them. Can't see anything on their web site about a minimum number of standing orders or direct debits though.

This cannot be doing their complaints figures any good, why offer a promotion then not honour it? I have in writing from my first switching complaint that they guarantee to pay the £100 within 45 days, I am anticipating round 2 on the complaints process.
Make £10 a day challenge in Feb £325.82/£280
    March £78/£310

Hi all, quick update for you. I didn't get a response within the 7 days I gave them after requesting they log as a complaint. As promised, I wrote to the CEO on Wednesday evening letting him know it was late, and that I hadn't had a reply to two letters in a three week period. In my letter I requested payment of the £100 incentive plus compensation (I didn't specify an amount) for my time, costs, and inconvenience in having to chase them up for a third time.

I got a reply on Thursday morning, pretty confident from him direct, agreeing it was unacceptable and apologising. He copied in a few people and this afternoon two payments of £100.00 have been credited to my account!

Needless to say I've moved it straight out in case the second one was a mistake.

I really wouldn't waste your time or sanity in phoning around call centres, a letter should do the trick but if you don't get a reply this is the email address I used to reach the CEO:

    niall.booker@cfs.coop

    Thanks all

Well, low and behold, the second incentive payment WAS a mistake. Checked my account on Monday and £100 had been debited - sending me overdrawn by £95!

Clearly I let my 'mate' Niall and others know and it got sorted by Wednesday, with confirmation any overdraft fees/interest will be refunded.

Apparently when they paid the £100 incentive to me last week, after my chasers, they paid it twice 'in error'. The incompetence is really baffling.

Anyway because of all the inconvenience they decided I should keep the second £100. But then they debited me for £100.

Really is shocking I'll be switching to M&S shortly!

I switched on 24th March. Should have been paid by 8 May. I was paid on 20th May after complaining several times- including emailing the CEO. I was also paid £75 extra as a goodwill gesture on Wednesday 21st.

After my complaint by email and post, I received the £100 on 20th May, then another payment of £50.73 went into my account on 23rd May. I can only assume this is the "good will" payment I asked for. Seems an odd amount though. No doubt I will have a response in the post this week.

I've twice applied, and twice been rejected. Co-op said they'd write to me giving their reasons - but haven't.

Any ideas? The to-be-switched account is a fairly new one with no existing DDs.

Was it because I selected "Flowers" as my memorable word? :)

i think you've answered your own question - it needs at least 2 DDs or SOs to qualify
    helpful tips
    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)
