What exactly is guaranteed???
My switch was done within 7 days - though the Coop and I had mixed up the switch start and switch end date. Minor misunderstanding and irritant, definitely not something I would hold against them.
Something must have been seriously difficult with your switch - just the slightest difference in spelling of your name/address could cause problems. What was it?0 -
Got to the bottom of the missing 55p now. Nationwide clawed back 6p in interest for February and refunded 1p in tax, so that accounts for 5p. They also charged 50p for unarranged overdraft usage.
Trouble is, they never paid me any interest for February so there is nothing to claw back, and no tax to be refunded. I also was never overdrawn so there is no charge due for any overdraft.
I don't know whether these funny transactions were made by a human or whether there are problems with Nationwide's sytems. I know it's only 55p but I am not having any of these guys taking even a penny off me for no reason. Nationwide have now apologised and put the missing money into one of my other accounts with them.
Lol if HMRC had your attitude tax evasion/avoidance would be virtually non-existent lol0 -

If not complain, they may give you a few extra pounds!
On the face of it there were no hiccups. First the account was setup without a hitch then instructed to phone in to kick start the switch when the switch date was agreed then out the blue a text was received with a new switch date. Not a big deal considering the free £100.
My switch with a different account, at the same time as the co-op to bag the Halifax £100, was completed inc payment within the 7 days :-)
Cheers0 -
I am going to switch one of my Flexdirects that now pay 1%, but I have been using the overdraft to earn interest elsewhere. Should I be worried about them charging fees?0

It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for the £100 bonuses to roll in.
Co-op states 45 days, though I remember previously Halifax stating something similar, yet their bonus was paid almost instantly.0 -
I hold little hope for a fast payout. I have fulfilled the criteria a week ago and as yet nobody has even asked me yet what my charity of choice for the £25 donation is. This makes me think they haven't yet started thinking about making any payments.
EDIT: Just checked my switching paperwork. It says that from my confirmed switching date, I" have an opportunity to select one of our chosen charities to receive a £25 donation from us by visiting co-operativebank.co.uk/charitychoice".
Well......anybody can go to that URL and select a charity. There is no link with the switched account at all, and if you clean your cookies, you can choose again and again. So somehow I don't have any confidence whatsoever that any of this is going to work.0 -
I also have no confidence in this being paid out swiftly (although I am prepared to be proven completely an utterly wrong!).
Got my letter confirming my switch has been completed and I've funded £800 into it, I will continue to 'fund' the account until it pays I guess!0 -
I was accepted via email today ,after applying on Saturday.
Hopefully things will continue going on track0 -
I'm not confident either, my switching paperwork hasn't arrived a week after commencing the switch. They have promised that I will get the hundred pound bonus but nothing is in writing.
I'm not sure though that the co-op will be able to afford any more bad press so maybe they will pull through.Make £10 a day challenge in Feb £325.82/£280
March £78/£3100 -
When I applied for the switch I got a letter and a bunch of texts, however there was nothing to confirm the swich did complete as expected yesterday (did anyone get a text to confirm?) I don't want to send the £800 until I am sure it won't have to be done again.
Looks like there is little chance of getting the £100 in time to use this as a donor account for the post office switching offer that runs to the end of MarchI think....0
