Also I don't have the old NW card so don't know the long card number, do they need this or can SC and account no be ok?0
-
They are asking for the card number, and you need the card reader to set up a new SO.0

existing coop current account holder.
phoned to start switch on the 6th.
told switch could commence on the 7th.
text message on the 10th confirming switch date would be the 17th.
today my Halifax SO's and cash balance are in my coop account.
switch complete? well, the Halifax account I have switched from is still open with a zero balance but maybe that will close later today or tomorrow?
good job coop.
....and today the Halifax account is closed and has gone from IB...very good switch for me.0 -

I got a call in today to the coop who were very efficient, just a final security check, waiting for card and pins now before initiating the switch.Make £10 a day challenge in Feb £325.82/£280
March £78/£3100 -
I started my switch today. Took a long time though because the operator went through all the terms and conditions (the previous time I tried to do the switch the guy didn't bother), plus towards the end he realised that I'd already called to try the switch and the system wouldn't let another switch attempt start. He had to find the ID of the previous switch data I guess and continue that one. Phew, got there in the end!0

Just wondering - the card reader that Co-Op provide (I'm still waiting for this), is it the same type of card reader that Nationwide use? I'm going to send £800 into the new co-op account but I am reluctant to do so if I can't set payments back out without a working card reader.0
-
Apparently yes you can http://ask.co-operativebank.co.uk/help/internet_banking/any_reader0

Yep, Nationwide, Natwest etc card readers will work at the Coop. Also, for the first 21 days after internet registration, you don't need a card reader.
The Coop will automatically order a card reader for you when you register for internet access (or so I am led to believe). It can take up to 21 days for it to arrive.
I didn't ask but you could perhaps get one in a Branch if you are desperate.0 -
Thanks for that info, I have a Natwest one and a Nationwide one knocking around somewhere so I will use those
They did say they would send one out when I registered for internet backing so will just put that away as a spare when it arrives.
