Well this month has been an expensive one for me :o Credit card bill came in yesteday £1003.00 and I was 122 od on my bank account this morning. I had to borrow money from the kids accounts (all linked to mine) to stop me getting charges. Money goes in at midnight and as this is my first month of fulltime, in theory I'm £500.00 better off :T but in reality, I will just break even this month and stop anything extra building up. Only £100 of the CC bill was a surprise, forgot to add that, everything elase was accounted for. Hopefully next month, will be much lower. DS turns 21 at the end of next month and will be away with his girlfriend to celebrate, so he can get his pressie when they are back in April ;) But, the bills will be in by then, so it really is swings and rounabouts! I've yet to catch up on this thread and this is a quick check in from work. Good luck everyone, I hope we are all well :)

  • Afternoon all,

Applemuncher - glad DD is on the mend Crazylady hope the knee does the same!!

All of a flutter here - got someone coming to view the house on saturday morning - who knows what will happen but it means we will be on house tidy mode on Friday!! Kids in straight jackets, dog sent to friends house - that kinda thing!! Had a brief (ok quite a long) rummage through rightmove - there are a couple of things out there that if anything happened we would go and smooze at. Trying not to get excited - been down this road too many times over the last few months!

Anyways sfd today, keep fit has been gazumped by school governor meeting - its my first one - not quite sure what to expect but need to learn quite a few acronyms given the minutes I was sent of the last meeting. Should be "fun"!

    Right work to do
    Love to all, LAGL xx

    Hello.

Today won't be a SFD, will need to get milk, fresh fruit, stuff to bake for Friday (my last day at work) and ingredients for food to take to my maternity leaving do at my bosses house on Sat. Do it all today as OH plays footie on Thur and is away on Sat/Sun. Hope baby knows that he'll be away, got a strange feeling about this one and taking German punctuality a bit too serious.

Sorted out my accounts yesterday at my new bank and put money in the appropriate pots (online savers). OH gave me the money he borrowed back plus money for the wedding fund. Will update my signature once I got paid on Friday.

Savings might take a wee hit sometime as OH goes on about getting a new mattress. I don't mind it, quite comfy when I'm not pregnant (although it could do with being replaced). Atm any mattress wouldn't make a difference, to me anyway.

Hope all patients feel better soon x

  • Another SFD today, this may have something to do with it being a pj day!

Spent the day pottering around at home and sorting out bits and bobs. All rooms have been tidied and straightened up.

Had to stay in for a parcel to be delivered today. It arrived in good time, now I just need to find somewhere to home the parcel contents.

I have just signed up to an online photography course. The money isn't coming out of my normal budget so I'm still counting it as a SFD. It is from money I have had put aside for a while for rainy days. The course is 18 module, completely online and there is no time limit on it.

I bought myself a digital SLR camera last year for my birthday. I then managed to find a one day basic photography course on Grooopon for one sixth of the normal cost. It was a very good course for someone who has never really used a SLR camera before. I did learn a lot but unfortunately most of it I have now forgotten.

I took some fairly good pictures using my latest toy whilst away last week and it has re-ignited the desire to be able to use the camera properly. The online course was another Grooopon spectacular and one that I didn't really want to miss.

I did a lot of account sorting and balancing yesterday. I'd kind of forgotten about one savings account I had. It doesn't have a lot in it, but as they say, every little helps.

been a bit naughty with buying more sweets :o

good news is chest pain seems to have gone :j finally after 2.5 weeks  will go salsa tomoz but working fri pm now so will aim to go back to gym on sat.

as chest has hurt since 8th feb i have only used gym 4 times in feb which works out at £12 per visit  will obv be much better in march and will start skinny rules again :A

dont think i will get anymore payments before fri so have paid dad £560 today. so debt is now 3 figures at £790 and WILL be cleared by 31 March :j

have planned events/spends until 18 april (even though will be debt free by 31st march my pay cycle is until 18 april so spends for that budget will need to be counted). events are-

7 march- colleague leaving meal- budget £15
14 march- spa break with friend- £150 to inc petrol, drinks and lunch on 2nd day
15 march- will combine spa with weekend at parents as its close so will save petrol. budget £15 for lunch with friends
29 march- party. already bought ticket so budget £25 for drinks and taxi home
20 april- german beer festival- budget £20
26 april- dinner party at friends (bring a dish). will budget £10 for food and drink

total £235  have got £300 available though and these are over estimates in some cases. would liked to have saved for spa break but is short notice as friend only in uk for 2 weeks. means i have £65 left which may need to go towards debt if im a bit short so need to make sure i dont fritter it!!!
