Just a quick check in, not much to report so haven't been posting. SFD up to 13, and most of weekend spends low.
Actually I do have some exciting news: very sucessful demolitions on the weekend! All the walls I wanted down are gone. Two friends surprised us with a picnic lunch (so I didn't have to shout my friends at all! I did offer to give them money but they said no) and the rugby player husband of the pair provided some much needed brute force :rotfl: Wouldn't have got anywhere near as far without him. It's fine, they're in the process of buying so will return the favour in the near future no doubt.Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -
Thanks LAGL - I will investigate that dog food further. I spent a lot of time researching dog food when our lab was a puppy and he can't tolerate large levels of protein as it makes him smelly and he sheds his coat more than ever but I never came across this one.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Well my challenge totals are creeping up and although I won't make SFD's or exercise I won't be far off and I have definitely spent less this month and that is mainly by resisting lots of little impulse buys I would normally make.
Today was going to be a SFD, parked a way from work and walked in to avoid parking charges, took my lunch with me, met a friend for a free drink and cake at John Lewis in my lunch break and didn't need anything from the SM but had forgotten that the lovely lady who sits behind me had her leaving do today after work and would have been gutted to not go. Me and her have both had a tough year with lots of similarities so have become quite friendly (numbers swapped to try and stay in touch). She had the do at a new ice cream bar just across from our office, my first trip there and was very restrained ordering just two scoops in a bowl, one of the cheapest options (could have had just one scoop I suppose but my self control wasn't quite that good).
Trying to think about how to increase my number of SFD's going forward, will have to study the spreadsheet a little more closely to make sure I know exactly which ones were wasted on milk or ead within a day of SM shop etc and if there are any other common denominators.
Just three more days of Feb to go, very curious to see what DH gets paid, hoping it will be enough to put a little extra towards the debt. Oh and on a negative front we have a large damp patch on a wall in our living roomit is not the first but not sure of the cause which means no idea if it is going to be costly. It is a room which desperately needs a little TLC and had been hoping to just freshen it with a coat of paint I have been offered for free by my dad until we had money to get it plastered etc, depending on cause may make sense to get it plastered sooner whilst getting other stuff done which would impact on the debts repayments we can make  I know it is nothing in the scheme of things but still feels like it may be a step back pour debt free journey before we have really got going.

Ooo, it’s all going on here tonight – contractions, DFD’s getting near, walls coming down, wedding anniversaries! Congratulations everyone!
Not much good to report here. Ofsted are here and one of my files has been picked for inspection. Joy. Luckily they are coming to the area to do office visits and observations next week – when I have annual leave booked all week! Yeay!
NSD and a swim today on way home, so feeling virtuous. Won’t have worked off all the chocolate cookies I ate at work though due to stress. At least they were free.
I popped out at lunch to spend some gift vouchers in a clothes shop and came back with a standard but nice casual white shirt that is smart enough for office days and casual enough to look good with jeans. It’s the first new thing I have had since our challenge began pretty much and before I would have got this without much thought and then if I wanted other things in the shop then I would have got them too. Now I am all of a dither wondering whether to take it back and exchange for some summer shoes I saw that were nice, or use the money to put towards most of the price of some new jeans.. I have been arguing all night in my head which of the three items would be the most useful and get the most wear! How things have changed….

SFD here, only 3 more to go til March...
Got the flatmate to dig out our energy bills as I needed them for a survey and he discovered we're overpaying since we barely used any gas this winter, so will have £80 refunded soon and dropped our monthly bill by £10! Only half of that refund/savings is mine, but having £45 extra in the March budget will help enormously.New graduate trying to get debt-free.

Evening all,
Seem to have hit the new half term with a crazy busy weekHave just stopped working and have crawled straight into bed.
It was payday today so did a food shop, as the cupboards were quite bare (unless you count a million tins of tomato soup). This means not a SFD but hopefully will have them from Wed to Fri to meet the target
Paid a chunk off the debt but due to overspending this month, it didn't make the numbers fall as low as I had hoped in my head. Oh well, it's still in the right direction and when OH gets paid he will be paying off the money I've loaned him over the month.
Got a couple of eB4y parcels to post so will have to wrap then before work tomorrow and post them on the way home.
Decided my post sounds rather grumpy, so 5 things I'm grateful for today
1. OH cooking a lovely dinner
2. The fire alarm this afternoon that gave me 20 minutes off teaching
3. The assembly that overran this morning and resulted in an unexpected hour off teaching
4. My lovely warm bed and the four dogs currently acting as hot water bottles
5. Speaking to my sister who is currently on the other side of the world
On reflection, it seems like quite a good day :rotfl:

Evening all - we are into the home straight! I am definitely up for the next challenge Kat, count me in, I need the discipline!
Missed a NSD today due only to DD's athletics club (£3.50). In my head I am half counting it as I tried so hard to swag a NSD today...up v early, cycled to work meeting to avoid using car, on way fell off (ouch), got lift from that meeting to next, borrowed plaster (scraped knees - very comedy appearance with nude tights but did not buy new ones), did work, lunch was much forgotten hm soup. Missed lift back to place I'd left bike. Decided not to take train or bus, but to walk. Walked blooming miles (about 55 minutes), in rain for bits of it. Nice fresh air though. Got bike, cycled home. Think whilst cycling probably is ok as light exercise post op, falling off bike probably is not. The symptoms are not great now, plus I have a swollen knee. Luckily I am working from home tomorrow so can do so from my couch! Had very stressful event this evening but did not resort to stopping for chocolate!
Nighty night all x0 -
Took dd to fracture clinic yesterday and she's been discharged already! :j She did really well to get up and out of the house early, and cope with 2 buses in busy traffic, plus walking right across the hospital to get to where we wanted to go. Then, on the way home, she did the food shop with me. She was insistent that she wanted to go to school, so I took her for the afternoon.
She was definitely ready for bed at bedtime, and I don't think she's moved all night! I'm going into work late so that I can take her to school, and dh will do the same tomorrow, that way she can have a bit longer to wake and get ready.
Am pleased to have almost kept to budget this month, and to have done plenty of exercise and knitting. March is shaping up to be a very busy month - and not with really fun things either! So good habits learned thus far will be necessary.
Am grateful for being able to go into work late, for dd sleeping soundly, for it being daylight as I type, for the car passing its MOT and for discussing the kitchen with dh last night.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Oh dear Crazy Lady, what a day! Hope the knee is better this morning.
Glad your DD is on the mend Apple Muncher, sounds like she just wants to get back to normal.
I've got my speed awareness course today, so this morning will consist of quiet pottering before my dad comes over to look after DS. Not sure if it will be a SFD as we need eggs and the place we get them I will drive past today. Either that or it's going tomorrow when I go to hey diddle lidl.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
crazy lady - what a day you had, glad your fall wasn't any worse than a scraped knee.
I have reached my 15 SFD and my exercise target (but will carry on with that for the rest of the month). I would have more SFD's but half term is scuppering it a bit, today might be one though.
I have made all my debt repayments from February's pay and have paid off a total of £482.79, I am very pleased with this figure as we had lots of bills to pay from this pay day too.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
