Phone them. Make a point of the fact that you're annoyed at having to chase them and make sure to mention that you're having to call an 0845 number to chase. Not only should they put the money in your account today but you may also end up with a few quid for the cost of the calls0 -

Thanks, need to do that tomorrow. You can't even ask them a question over the phone without having to give god knows how many details and the security number etc. which I don't have in my head as I already have to memorise god knows how many other passwords etc. Sorry little annoyed now :mad:DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Thriftylass - I got an extra £10 when I had to chase the Halifax for my £100, it seems like a lot of people have to chase it up.
DH got his payslip yesterday although it doesn't go in the bank until tomorrow, he got a payrise which no-one had advised them about backdated to last month so we had more than we expected. I did March's budgets last night and will make payments to things tomorrow, will manage to pay more off than we thought. I had forgotten about DH going to the dentist tomorrow so need to see how much that affects things although it should just be a check up.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Morning!
Got paid today, so I have sorted all my pots of money out, the woman in the bank as well as the queue behind me thought I was completely mad:rotfl:
I've made another CC payment too so go me! Put money into various savings accounts and forecast for April as have DSs swimming to pay for then AND the dreaded MOT
I'm confident I will be debt free by the end of March, fingers crossed!
Right off to sort some fleabag sales for postage today, didn't do anymore this week but will this Sunday. I've used some of the paypal money to pay for some birthday cards on funky bird.com, still not sure what to do with the rest of the money after fees have come out but am inclined to leave it in my paypal for now.
Looking through all the accounts and my paperwork, again I must thank you NSK, I don't think you realise quite the impact you have made on people, me especially, since doing your challenges my mindset has completely changed. I'm nearly debt free and have several savings "pots" just by forecasting, planning and being careful with my money.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Surfaces again :hello:
Got today and tomorrow off so finally found time, and the energy to come on here and update you all.
I've had two days back at work since my holiday and after these two days I'm back in for six straight. Not looking forward to it because my To Do list is two pages long already. Oh well, it pays the bills.
My bank account switch over was 95% successful. One Direct Debit was missed. They sent a letter wanting to charge me £10 for missing the payment. I queried it with my new bank who said it was not their fault. Queried it with the payee and they told me they had not been given enough notice. So it is now back with the new bank to refund me the £10. Didn't go with one of the £100 offers, but with the one that I am in, if I can keep my balance at a certain amount, I get £75 a month and it helps with my upcoming mortgage.
Checked the old account yesterday and if you remember, I was cautious at the start of the month and only paid £200 off my credit card after slipping into the red last month. Well I still had £200 and some change left so I've just paid another £200 to the credit card. That will bring the balance down to £1300 in the next few days and means I should still be able to make my DFD!:j
Buying a new house though and the costs and mortgage stuffs with that may have to take priority though. I have got the cost of my service/MOT and years worth of insurance already saved and still got three months to go.
Just been for my last supermarket shop of the month. I didn't need a lot so most of what I've got will see me well into March. I'm going to do a cupboard and freezer stock take today and try and do a bit of meal planning, or, at least write out what meals I can have. Have to include lunch stuff in this too. I'm not really one for sandwiches. I prefer to have something hot.
Kat Another one joining in on the thanking of you here! I had an appointment with my mortgage adviser today to go over some figures. We had to do a budget to make sure that my new mortgage was viable. Instead of just plucking figures out of thin air or having to send a form in later I knew all the figures thanks to your challenges. So, thank you from me for making me look at my spending.
I was still about £200 adrift somewhere but I think that comes from the latest couple of trips to see the OH. These are now seriously being budgeted and saved for though. I was happy that I was only a small amount adrift though.
Now to go and update my spreadsheet with todays spends and update my signature.Feb NST #4

Make sure you use say no to 0870 to find a local number. They don't know you are calling from that number so should give you money for call. I got £7 for my call and £15 comp. Plus they paid me the £100 twice!!!!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -

I just used the work phone. Finally found a number in my text alerts where I would get through to a person straight away and could confirm my ID without that security number. Really friendly bloke but I doubt his name was Kevin judging by his dialect. Never mind. Will get my £100 in the next three days plus an extra tenner without me even asking and I didn't want to push for more

It's our wedding anniversary today and DH is off work for a few days for half term. We have been for a long walk and a picnic at a NT place we love, just paid £3.50 for the car parking and the kids made a log bird for free. We are splashing out on fish and chips for the 4 of us for tea then later we have a bottle of wine which was given to DH by a colleague as thanks for a favour.
I did all my budgets last night and then today remembered we need dog food so will have to rejig the figures, we buy a 15kg sack every 6 weeks so it is quite an expense at the time.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Afternoon all, working hard to day - brain about fried!! SFD - hurrah - DH birthday today, cooking a nice tea and have the huge cake that he bought for my birthday earlier in the month. Have a huge bottle of local cider to release from captivity too
Yay Thrifty re the £100. Banks can either drive you bonkers or be brilliant. I managed to open a new savings account with our HS*C bank in one click last night, seriously just clicked submit when I was online and it was suddenly in my accounts list - How cool is that!! (Geek moment) - chucked the stampduty money in there and should clobber some better interest until we do move - the old savings account is now there to build up the car fund. Couldnt cope with it in one "purse" - good job dh trusts me - the bulk is now just in my nameIf it rains much more I might just leg it!
Also dolly84 have you come across this dog food http://www.csjk9.com/ we have gone from £80 per bag hypo allergenic stuff from the vet, to James wellbelove via hills to this. It costs us £11.50 per bag for 15Kg of champ adult and is fab - no nasties in it and our retriever wolfs it down - dont know if there is a stockist near you but might be worth asking for a sample. It's so much cheaper and the same stuff/protein contents etc.
Hope everyone is having a good day - its nearly March!!
