NSD today! Very strict meal plan is in force for this week as I'm moving this weekend so need to take as little food with me as possible. Have one night out at the theatre planned this week (bought tickets last month so budgeted for!), just need to avoid buying drinks/snacks whilst there.New graduate trying to get debt-free.
Make £5/day challenge: August £84.08/155
I owe £5400 (plus £34,000 Student Finance)

Hi All,
Another SFD today and LTW as well.
A quick summary of my main achievements / disappointments:
16/15 - SFD really pleased with this and am now hoping to get to 20 by Friday :T
8/16 - LTW not good but will try harder in March
£165.57/£150 - Grocery. Not good but I do have enough meals in the freezer for at least the first week of March so hopefully March will be lower.
£50.02/£100 - Fuel. Pleased with this as we have actually had 2 unplanned long journeys and we are still under budget. May need to put som more in before Friday but will see how it goes.
30/28 - Decluttering really pleased with this as I've cleared a lot of areas but still have lots more to do.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying the small bursts of sunshine.

Aww, way to go NSK! Have some fun with Mr Archer before you sail off into the sunset on your travels!
Well, feeling that end of the month type summary and review feeling here at Tiptoes Towers... not going to hit the SFD totals, but should come in at 14 as we have all we need till Friday now. So not too shabby. It would have been 15 but I split the weekly shop and got milk and eggs on Saturday to get us through the weekend and bought the rest today as it was 20% off day at Morries with the staff discount card so it was well worth losing a SFD for as I saved a tenner there.
DH has overhauled the spreadsheets at work today and they are even whizzer and prettier now… so that’s quite exciting. And he was superkeen to tell me all about it when he got home, so methinks he is not only tagging along, but has caught the bug!
And I am also feeling that getting ready for the start of the month challenge-y feeling and wondering just how much (if any) we can re-coup in March with all the bills we have and the several entertainment things we have planned and can’t get out of. We have started tentatively looking at holiday plans for when we are DF (we aim to go away in Jan 15 so we should have been DF two months and should pay for the holiday with savings from these two months – any money not paid off by Nov 14 is money coming off our holiday fund) and then looking at houses and mortgages as this will be the savings pot for Feb 15 onwards… looking to save around 40k. Eek. So, looks like we’ll be doing your challenges for many years to come Kat!

Hi all
Just a quick check in to claim SFD, forgot to take LTW(doh!!) but fortunately a colleague took pity on me and gave me a spare tin of soup, so was able to avoid unnecessary spend. Lunch already in my bag for tomorrow.
I seem to have lost motivation for de-cluttering, have promised myself i will do better tomorrow.
NSK-this lovely Archer doesn't go by the name Cupid by any chance?;)

Yeah much better thanks, and yes I know there evil and it was my stepdaughter and partner birthday. So I couldn't not get her anything plus her to give to her dad, and the loans were for living off. Like food dinner money for kids so essentials. It was just bad budgeting since after Christmas but I will be better off come Friday. And will budget alot better and more thourgly for March. Anyway still trying to catch up but to tired to read anymore so catch up Tom so good night all.:j

Forgot to ask NSK can I pretty please keep my number 13 for next month challenge. As most don't want that number but it's my number as I was born on the 13th so I go with it for things sad I know.:j

Morning all
I fell off the spend wagon this weekendI bought makeup I didn't really need (only a fiver though...) and a pair of trousers for my upcoming holiday as I'll need something to keep me cool in the 30+ degree heat, that's still decent-looking as I'm off to an Islamic country and want to be culturally appropriate. I need to trawl through my wardrobe this week for suitable clothes so I can finish my panic-buying next weekend
I also had a night out on Saturday and spent over £50 (!!), although that included a lovely meal as well as *cough* one or two yummy cocktails.
That's going to be my last big blowout for a while as I have had it confirmed that my job will finish at the end of March. I've been on a short-term contract so it wasn't unexpected, but it's not the best time to be looking for work given that I leave the country for nearly a fortnight in a week and a half  I did see a job this morning that looks right up my alley - it's the type of work I do but working for a charity rather than in financial services, so I've saved it to review and will work on the application this week.
I have £30 left in my food budget and three days of the month left so I'm aiming to have £20 left of my budget when the month ends. I should get a SFD today although I did buy car insurance this morning :rotfl: I don't count it as a spend though as I have a fund for car expenses. I saved £30 on our renewal price (our insurance is pretty low anyway I think) and should get £50+ back in cashback as well. I will also get some lovely Clubcard points as I paid using my Tesco credit card
I won't hit my LTW target as I haven't been in the office enough. I did buy one lunch this month but I won't do it again. It wasn't as tasty as I thought it would be and was £3 wasted.
I'm really looking forward to seeing next month's challenge. I'm going to probably join even though I won't be around much for ten days - as my holiday money is all bought and paid for I'll count them all as SFDs as long as I don't use my credit card
Hope everyone is well?0 -
Wowsers I am tired! Slept on the train and the tube and nearly fell asleep on my feet walking to the train station. Even with getting to bed at 2130....I love my bed. honestly and truly its the most amazing place in the world....
Anyway - MORNING SLAYERS!!! Not long to go now! Working on march so will check in more later...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Today, will be another SFD. My transfer to the Halifax is finally complete but still no £100. Need to check how long that was meant to take.
Had a few good practise contractions yesterday, so hope baby won't let me wait too much longer. A week and a half would be nice, lol.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250
