Well I have a lot of catching up to do been over a week since was last on. Not been doing to good with birthdays and having this chest infection, which has finally cleared after a second set of steroids.
Have lost count of spend days as I was either forgetting things when doing a big shop or buying stuff to ease my sore throat.
But I will sit down Tom night and figure it all out but I will be honest it's been a bad month. I had to do 2 payday loans this monthand yes it's bad but I won't be ever doing it again. Was a lapse in judgement with my money
anyway as I go and hang my head in shame for that. I am going to catch up with what I have missed and will put my disastrous figures up Tom
good night.
Hope your feeling better and really never go near payday loans again. They are evil. Hope it was at least for essentials and not because you "had to" to go to birthdays and buy stuff. Sorry don't want to judge esp as you know youself.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Evening everyone...or is it morning? Thanks to someone leaving a banana in the bin (and me rescuing it for smoothie making), today has been another SFD! And another yoga day!
Don't think I have much to report really - I'm limping on with most of my misc budget left, but I've spent almost double my food budget  so they cancel each other out. Although I've moaned that this seems like along month, I don't seem to have had time to do any of my To Do list! Declutter? Eh, no. Food bank contribution? Not yet, although I do have a huge bag of food for them when I finally get round to it. Petrol? Yeah, emptied the tank and spent March's budget filling up again. Should I stop digging now?
No real damage has been done, but there's been no progress either
It'll soon be March and I FULLY intend to draw a line under February and start again in March. With gusto!
And, I hope to see you all along the way!!
I think we're ready for the next challenge Kat0 -
Morning all,
Well I intend to not spend a bean today so all should be well. Missyv, I hope you feel better soon! Don't beat yourself up about the Pay day loan, you've done it now. Just let this be an inspiration to get you debtfree, so you never feel the need to again as they truly are evil.
Well good luck everyone and have a good day!:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
Morning Slayers....
My fingers are seizing up and I have my coat on again. I am not enjoying these cold office mornings and have come to the conclusion managment within the building do not care....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
How are we all this fine and glorious morning though? February is soon to leave us with the new challenge up on my SCREENas we speak. I have a theme ( I think ) although it might change and despite this having only been a 28 day month it's been hard.
March is going to be harder for me! Not sure about anyone else but I have NO extra funds at all. I have started my morning with a glance at my "accounts". I think my visits to the little sainsbury's outside work nearly every morning haven't help nor has my use of the buses coming home from work....
One currently has- £15.42 in ones current account,
- £62.58 owing on the CC,
- and only £1750 in the savings account! (I was predicted at £4000 by now in my ever optimistic pre-New Year planning).
Still wanting to put £1000 away in March. There is no way out of that. £150 from the travel account went to the Aussie Passport which is fine - the other £100 was transferred into my current account although I don't know what for now. It's shameful as I know it's part of what is buying my food in the mornings...
I must I must I must remember the 7 P's...Proper Prior Planning Prevents Pi** Poor Performance.I am going to march on the motorbike with a £200 budget for petrol This means leaving on time, not exceeding 56mph (virtually impossible in London), not braking really hard, not accelorating really hard - OOOOH I know that £100 was for the bike oil filter - okay I feel bettert now, and making sure I don't hit pedestrians again ( it was HER fault).....:p
The other "issue" - yes I am dating Mr Archer. Mumsy was advised of this last night and said "Oh really? And what does he do" - and that was the end of that conversation. I think she assumes it's not serious so there ain't no reason to ask any more - which is true. It isn't yet but there is the adage of "dating" and paying your way.
Thankfully he knows about my travels, that I am leaving in October, and he is very nice about it. And for those who are really interested he is half Egyptian, taller than me (thank goodness), attracted me in week 3 of archery due to his incredibly sense of humour (told me I blanked him in week 2:rotfl:) and yes he is very attractive and intelligent and incredibly fascinating. Better still he seems to think I am amazing!
So there you go - back to the March drawing board and to read some posts...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
I haven't posted for ages but I read and run and have had a really succesful month actually.
Our spending is way down compared to normal and I have been well behaved on the spending front. My DH has been filling in all our expenses in an excel spreadsheet which has helped a lot to identify where the money is going adn what we are frittering cash on.
Although I am not so active here, it helps me a lot just to read everyone's posts and I find you all so inspiring.Seriously money saving0 -
Living_a_good_life wrote: »Evening all - managed a sfd today. Yesterday we had family breakfast at our church so that cost a few quid - it was good though! Also picked up some drinks at Mr Tesc0 ready for our takeaway dinner around at another friends house last night - I know, I know - however we hadnt seen them in ages and they have a new baby so they suggested T/A at theirs.
Anyway - DS had a birthday party this afternoon which was nice, DD finished her epic half term homework - 4 sides of A4 completed of her own story from start to finish with pictures. She is 6 and its half term - felt a bit OTT if I'm honest - still its done!
Right would love to chat but the ironing is screaming and needs dealing with
Love to all, LAGL xx
I agree with you about the homework, my DS brought home 10 pages of A4 at October half term (he was 7 then) it was maths, literacy, writing a poem etc, he had to have lots of help. We got part way through and I wrote on it that we had done what we would and he would do no more. When he got back to school his teacher said he had to stay in at play times until it was finished. I had a word and he didn't but good grief what is going on - if we had gone away for the week when would he have done it.
Will be a spendy day today, I am taking the kids into town and I need to buy 2 18th birthday cards and a girl guides top.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Loving this, must remember the 7 Ps too.
The other "issue" - yes I am dating Mr Archer. :j:j:j
Not much to report here. Will be a SFD (number14 I think). Should maybe only need milk on Wednesday, so should be able to get 17 out of my target 20 SFDs.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

Afternoon - back to school, spent the morning digging out the house. DH's birthday tomorrow - deliveries have been wrapped - he wanted the bits to build an internet radio to attach to his raspberry Pi - the plan is to turn it into a media centre - if you understand that then you are impressed - if you didnt dont worry - after twelve years marriage techy speak kinda gets you by osmosis
Totals updated - food slightly over due to buying back some of the unused grub for church breakie - will be part of the March menu so not so bad. Petrol also over - forgot the trip to essex when i did the budget - that would be £100 of it!
Need to pick up some eggs and post a parcel but trying to keep the last 5 days CHEAP!!
Right on we go - Kat - fab news about your fella
