Chez, what are the Aldi vouchers? I have an Aldi nearby and have heard people mention the vouchers before, but which paper and whats it worth? Thank you :)

The Ald! voucher is £5 off a £40 shop. It's in The Mirror I think and costs 50p. Think this one lasts until Thursday 6th march and they often have a few product specific vouchers in there too :)

  • Morning Slayers!!!

I got up late this morning! Ran out the door, paid for a bus, but still got to work 3.5 hours late. The weird thing though.... no-body has said anything yet..??? I am not sure whether to be sad about this or happy... :rotfl:

Oooooooooooh we are gonna have a Thrifty baby VERY SOON!!! I am SO EXCITED! Do we know know what it is going to be yet?? Get that oven cleaned, carpets cleans and freezer defrosted... life is about to CHANGE!!! :T:T:T....may I suggest the name Katherine if it's a girl and maybe Katherine as a middle name if it's a boy ....:rotfl:

So my travel budget has been depleted by another £50. Not ideal but I hate having money shown on my CC. So a further £73.18 will be transferred tomorrow leaving me with £2700 (I have budgetted £1000 for the TB) and a further £1300 as predicted in April to top me right up and keep me on target at £4000 in four months....Phew!!! Although my spreadsheetery has me at £5000 by then - beggars for OT can't be too choosy!

I have precisely £57 for misc spends and other things. Frightening considering such a long month. I am also going to be back on the motorbike in order to save my feet, time and money. So we shall see how that goes with a new route and getting a little lost... :(

I have one OT session booked in March so far! I need two more to be happy! :(:(:(:(:(:(:(

More importantly MUMMY IS COMING TO SEE ME IN APRIL!!!! We will have my birthday together! Whoop!!! I am going to be 31..:(..

Wish I had an Aldi nearby although I have a £3 off your next shop of £20 from Tescimo's.. **eyes down for wombled recipets folks**...:T.

£ashcow so happy for your CC amount - you must be well chuffed with yourself. Well done!!! Clippy I am super impressed with you too... can't wait until you are both screaming that you are debt free! Such a great feeling!!! :T:T:T

Right off to eat lunch..(that I had to buy)

It's going to be a girl (well as certain as one can be till she's here :rotfl:). Already got a friend called Katherine with a daughter called Katie. Sorry Kat. Was thinking one of those more traditional/timeless names though definitely.

Was taking to OH this morning and he'd like to finish a project in work and I'd like to get a few things done in the house once I'm off. So we told baby around the 11th would be good :D

I found some vouchers in amongst the rubbish in OH's car today, £1.20 off nappies and £2.40 of our next shop :T

The Aldi Voucher is in the Daily Mirror today and is £5 off a £40 spend. They also include a few individual vouchers for specific items. If you use any of the vouchers make sure you hand them to the cashier before they scan your items as they add the discount as the item goes through. This offer usually appears once a month and the vouchers are valid for about a week.

I use them almost every moth which works well for me as the shop is not that close but the savings are worth the travel particularly as i can honestly say i have not found anything to be of inferior quality and in many cases the quality is better than the main stream supermarkets.

    Happy Shopping

I had an email from Tesco today saying they are doing the 'spend £40 get £5 off next weeks shop' again if anyone shops there.

I have had a spendy day today, I had £21 in Debenhams vouchers (these are converted from points when you spend on your store card, a habit I am now out of) I needed to get DD a skirt/shorts and a present for a party she is going to, managed to get those and a half price Regatta coat for DD, actually spent £9.50 in actual money which you have to use your store card for so I will be paying that off this week and giving DH the £10 budgeted for my birthday present next month in cash, if that makes sense.

After all that we went to Mc'Ds for lunch so another £18 ish, all out of the budget though.

    Afternoon,
I've already got my March head on I must admit. I got paid on Tuesday so all the accounts are done and the debts paid.
Today wasn't SF, been to lidl and stocked up on nappies, bought eggs today too. Given DH £20 for top up items and still have £100 in the tin.

  • Afternoon all - sfd - working away - house tidying tomorrow in preparation for viewing - also going to have a sneaky look at a couple of houses with DH as he is working from home tomorrow. Figured it was worth taking the chance child free! Feeling a little under the weather - a head cold lurking - trying to stave it off with multivitamins and hot drinks!
    Love to all, LAGL xx

  • Hi everyone, have not managed any SFDs since I passed my test :o I have been galavanting every evening to tesco, asda, lidl; you get the drift! As I result the food budget is well and truly busted. Didn't even need half the stuff either, so annoyed with myself

Off to join the march challenge and organise my budgets for next month xx

    Hi all,

Not a SFD, bought some instant noodles from £1 shop (pack of 5) which should do for lunches next week at work. Had a free lasagne for lunch (purcheased with Mr T voucher for a free healthy living ready meal) and a Mr A receipt I wombled at the weekend (Oh how Hubby hung his head in shame) has earned me £1.55.

Contemplating suggesting to Hubby that for Lent we should try to eat on a miniscule budget for a week. Completely value brands and basics and donate the money saved to charity. Do you reckon he'd be on board with that?;) This the guy who gives up something every year (chocolate, bread, alcohol,) and fails after a week. Last year he told everyone he was giving up smoking...he doesn't even smoke!:rotfl::rotfl:

Been getting quotes for some building work on the house - moving an interior wall, new kitchen and bathroom - but Hubby wants to get a loan out and get the work done soon rather than wait a few months and give us chance to at least save up a fair proprtion of the money needed. It's hard because he really hates the house as it is and it affects his attitude/mood, which I understand but...I worked so hard to pay off my debts, I don't want to be saddled with a loan (and pay interest) for a few years even though we could afford it. We could also save up for a few months, put any shortfall on the CC and then work hard to pay off the CC over a few months (not sure we have enough time to save up full amount, some of the work needs doing quite soonish - I have 2 holes in my kitchen ceiling from a leak). I think he'd be keener to pay off a CC debt than put money aside to pay off a loan early. After all he currently has a loan and sees it like a monthly payment like the gas, tv licence etc rather than as a debt. Struggling to get him to my way of thinking
