Hi All,
SFD today so totals so far are:
7/15 SFD's
£127.58/£130 Shopping. Budget may need to go back to £150 but do have a few meals in freezer for Mar as well as all meals for Feb. Only need milk and the odd bit of veg till end of month.
7/18 LTW. Number of days has been reduced as I decided to take 2 days leave this week :j
£30.02/£100 Fuel. Not looking too bad so far but did have an unexpected and unplanned trip yesterday for stepson so may go over by the end of the month.
11/28 Declutter. Still got lots to do but am being ruthless on the areas I have cleared :T
Had a very productive day today. Spoke to Step Change regarding debt and have got lots of advice and help but don't want to go down the Debt Management Plan route with them as I already have workable agreements on most of my debts. I just needed some help with 2 that were causing me some concern.
As regards the issue of how prepared we are for a major zombie invasion or similar I think we are part way there. I would pack all of the animals in the back of our little camper van and run for the hills. It's pretty well stocked but I would need to pack as much food in as possible.
Think I best go and check the gas bottles and stock up on water :rotfl:
Back to work tomorrow  so I think it's time for a bath and an early night.

Hi all
Another SFD and took LTW again but need to push myself a bit harder with exercise and de-cluttering.
Stressful day today due to 84 year old mother in law having pacemaker fitted, DH has found this very upsetting and is sleeping at her house tonight as she is already home, when he arrived back from the hospital and took her up to the bedroom he found bags of prescribed drugs that she should have been taking, she admitted that she had got muddled with what to take and when to take them . . . this explains why she never seems to have any relief from pain. Dh has now booked another days annual leave to contact the Doctor and sort this out, hopefully the chemist can provide a dosset box with times and dates to simplify it for her.
Hope everyone is warm and dry tonight, i think its an early night for me with my book.April power shower #16 SFD 4/15 Food 185.59/280 Petrol 50/100 Lunches 4/10 Outings 0/300 De-clutter 1/15 FB 0/3 Exercise 0/8 Weight loss 2lbs/7lbs ME time 9/30hrs

Well done Dolly84, what an achievement – great news!
O, Siouxie - hope all is ok – we got flooded in 2012 and it was awful. I hope the sandbags hold! keeping everything crossed for you...
Hmm, Mothernerd, you might be right about the switch for the oil*. I think it would have to be the roaring fire for us for both cooking and warmth. At least there are plenty of trees round here for fuel and we have two axes! It’s quite scary to think about how much we are reliant on ‘the grid’ of civilisation and what would happen if it all just stopped. Even for 24 hrs. I was counting much of our spare food as freezer food, but yes, that would go off pretty quick without leccy. We’d have to send the cats out hunting rabbits for us (which the big one is good at) and I’d have to forgo my veggie status to survive! We’d have to learn to fish and hunt I guess, as we have plenty of beautiful countryside to get food from. It really does make you think….
Well, spendy day here as I had to buy a new swimsuit as when I took mine out of the washing machine on Monday I realised it had no bum left in it! Goodness knows how long its been like that but I swim three times a week, so it can’t just have gone in the wash the other night. Oops. Sorry gym members, no one needed to see that! On the plus side I used it straight away and got an exercise in with a nice (non bottom exposing) swim!
Hope your MIL is ok £ashcow, how sad… hopefully she might get some support from docs etc now?
Keep safe all in these storms, I am hoping our roof stays on - its wild out there...
*It does have an electric switch, I just checked with DH, who reckons he might be able to ‘lash up’ some kind of circuit jiggery pokery to get it going ‘maybe’!
• 6/15 SFD’s

£ashcow hope your MIL is better soon and fingers crossed to all those threatened by flooding.
Another question to those who switched accounts. Did you get asked your old bank details, i don't think I did. Got my online banking security number today and my card PIN. Despite using the right link online I wonder if they just gave me a new account without the switching service. Will phone them tomorrow.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Evening all
Hope you are all ok in this weather and no-one gets flooded. It is very windy here but the worst so far is that I have had to park my car away from my house as a few roof tiles have fallen off onto the driveway. Think I should start saving for a new roof in the near future.
Spend day here today as I needed a few top up bits. No exercise due to the weather but did take lunch to work and did a tutoring session for extra money

Evening Slayers...
SO I am sat in my house listening to the weather beat down outside and thankful for my cost little house. Siouxsie I cannot believe you have been ousted. Albeit you sound like me having fun in the face of pure crazyness and staring at men in uniform but all the same I really hope your little house is okay.... and your blender....
I managed an SFD today... I wanted chips today and went into the Co-op and walking straught back out again. Managed to find my own potatoes and made wedges with a home mage vegan (nutritional yeast) macaroni and cheese. Rather surprisingly lovely...
I am super tired now though. Was up at 0400 to get into work and am thinking of hitting the hay any minute... shame I didn't go sooner.. Need to get into work again early tomorrow as well as we are having a re-shuffle at work (what fun) and we all get new desks.... the fun never stops....
Nothing much more to report.... hugs to everyone..“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Evening all. SFD number 7 for me today. Caught the bus to and from work today as the weather is horrendous again here.
Hope all are well. Hugs to those who need them.
I'm off to batten down the hatches!
Have a good Thursday all and will check in again tomorrow.0 -
Hellooooooo!! From deep down in the flooded south west. Water approaching the house from all angles has kept me occupied for a bit, but luckily it is only actually getting in through the boiler vent (meaning everything in the airing cupboard (ie loo roll stash) is soaking) and part of the roof. There are buckets everywhere in the loft. Grim, but not as bad as it is for so many – siouxie, I hope your house is ok.
Quick summary: budgets are going ok so far this month – have my fingers crossed half term won’t wreck the food budget! There are a few snack bits stashed still from xmas and a LOT of pasta and sausages (YS bargins) in the freezer – they will have to feed the masses if DD has friends over. Fuel budget has much benefited from me running out of roads to use – many are now streams – and generally being stuck at home more.
On decluttering front. Have ventured into the realms of Ebay this year. Had several things listed at any one time since start of the year. Glad to have got rid of some bigger things that might have attracted zombies (and dust) but nothing is making much – its pennies here and there really, but I feel better for moving it onward. The dripping roof has inspired much more focused decluttering – all going decidedly soggy up there! So far about 6 boxes/bags to charity shops (Oxfam, for the nectar points!), a couple of boxes of stuff going through ebay, a few odd books taken by amazon etc. I’m trying to go through about 1 box per day in terms of sorting but am getting to more emotionally draining random stuff now!
Best result of the challenge for us so far – getting DD to use up the granary bread flour that was 2 years out of date in the larder.(it was sealed, and I looked for mites!) Discovered she enjoyed (and was good at) breadmaking – we’ll be investing in more flour next shopping trip! Our paying guests loved it too
