Morning folks
I fell off the spend wagon yesterday and frittered money on rubbish  I realised this early though so used the already wasted day to pick up some bits I needed from the supermarket
I managed to get my exercise done, although I don't know how much good it's done as I spent all day eatingStill, at least I did some exercise I suppose.
Aiming for a SFD today as I'm working from home (no temptation to spend here!) and then going to the pictures (cinema pass and will bring my own popcorn). That'll take me to eight which is halfway there, and as we're halfway through the month I'll be chuffed with that0 -
Tumbleweeds....:rotfl::rotfl:
Good morning,
today will be a spend day. Will go for lunch with some work mates for a colleague's maternity leave start (fiver max). A card went round too but only pretended to put sth in, tsk tsk. Also got out of my birthday round of cakes as my mum send a parcel yesterday and there was a wee cake in it and some other sweet stuff. Some went home, some went into the work's coffee room as birthday kids are meant to bring sth.
Need a new bus pass too for next week but got the car today as OH is snowboarding today, so need to wait till Monday when I'm on the bus again.
Birthday tea is in the slow cooker, OH is making lamb shanks. Even nearly got breakfast in bed, was just up to early :rotfl:. Got croissants with jam presented in a heart shaped box, cheesy but romantic. :smileyheaDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

Morning guys,
So I've tried figuring out a few times, what do I write here??
And I realised I'm quite terrible at writing or maybe I just had so many thoughts and feelings I didn't know how to get them out.
Anyway I have some very exciting news, I've been a lurker on most of Kat's threads and damn is this woman motivational, so thank you for that final push I needed to pay as much off of my debt as possible every single month.
So the great news I was on a dmp with Stepchange and I recommend them to anyone. As of today I have made my final debt payment to all my creditors. I am officially debt freeeeeeeeee! its taken a good 4-5 years or so and it is the best feeling in the world!!
Obv I've had my ups and downs firstly the recession and having jobs that didn't pay much at all, to going with a fee charging dmp company before I found out about Step change. And to the fee charging dmp company that said if you leave us like everyone else you will come back with more debt and all those threats they made to try and make me stay, in their faces! It was an easy changeover process and the secret is; just keep your creditors informed of what you are doing and they are more than happy to help
Well enough of my ramblings and for anyone that is interested my debts overall amounted to £25,000 that did include car finance of £8,000.
Hope you are all having a lovely Friday and NSK I shall be joining you on the travelling fund threadtime to create some savings!

Congratulations Unicorns.
Mrs GSR - hope you shake off your cold soon. I take extra strength Ecchinacea and it really helps.
Thirftylass - Happy Birthday.
A SFD for me again today, exercise for the day already done - in the freezing rain too. Am about to make some bread for over the weekend, I have a pot of chilli on the go for tea tomorrow and we are having hm pizzas tonight with bacon and mushroom topping.
Unfortunately I need to go out this evening delivering AVON orders but I will have about £50 from that so I will remember that when I am being rained on.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Well done Unicorn woo hoo. Must be an amazing feeling.
Everyone dealing with floods stay strong. I was grumbling enough this morning my washing machine flooded my kitchen floor, then realised how lucky I am.
Got a new fence panel and put it up and painted it yesterday - girlpower lol.
Feel tad down at the moment don't seem to be making any headway into my debt. I am impatient!!!!!!
Happy Bday Thiftylass have a totally wicked one.
Mrs GSR stay warm and I second Dolly84 advice.
Not focused still this month had a few more nsd days but need petrol, milk and bread today.
Exercise not going to well blame the weather every day I get home and it floods it down. Take the dog out but we just run home after 20 mins out. Try harder today, waterproofs at the ready.

Good afternoon all! I have finally managed to check in which makes me want to bring my little netbook with me everyday and my dongle but that is just awkward and more expence.... so I am SO sorry for not checking in earlier this morning.
And last night I was otherwise engaged with a particular archer.... ahem....(don't tell Mummy)....
So Unicorns I am SO glad you decided to post on here. We are hitting the mid-month lull and with so much "meh" spreading and fear for those who are suffering under this deluge of rain it's hard to stay focused and determined. Your post is what was needed to keep us all on the straight and narrow. So a massive CONGRATUALTIONS to you. £25K is a LOT of money and I am super proud of you!
Calling it is so easy to get frustrated and annoyed things aren't moving as fast - are you making monthly over-payments each month ...? How long have you been debt busting?..
MrsGSR you have been ill for a little while now. Do you think it's time to see the Dr or call NHS for some advice?
Thrifty a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you! Glad you were spoiled though!!!
Moomin I bought two little jumpers that were each £5 off in New Look. It's done wonder for my slightly drab, boring wardrobe. However I love the fact that the Challenge kicks in during the same day and spends were all accrued together.. this made me :rotfl: at my desk. (people think I am weird anyway)... so - WHAT WERE THE FRITTERY spends...? Spill...
Mothernerd - you should bend him over your knee and spank his bottom. That will teach him. Make sure his girlfriend is watching and realises if she steps out of line she gets the same treatment....#nevertooold
Pheonix - do you have a bike licence? Trust me it's not cheap. Defo cheap to fill up ( full take is roughly £23 and will stretch 200 miles if I am careful).. but you will look cool! :j
CEW where did you get that info from StepChange...? You are doing pretty well if you are that far under... (so proud)...
So... a colleague has just sent out an email. He has a new job, a lot of annual leave left and so has handed in his resignation today and walked out with only 1 day left to do. Jealousy is not an option. I am doing the same soon - but so many are walking out of my office it's unreal.
Landlord took delivery of my new small double bed today... got me out of bed at 0747 with my alarm ready to go off at 0800 - not happy. But he is washing my bedding for me, paid for a bus this morning when he saw how bad my heels are and made me realise how amazing buses are..
So I have to weigh up my options.... a single journey is £1.90. Early shifts will rely on the bike in the morning and thus in the evening as well. For March I have worked out the following....(plus expences)..- 13 early shifts [these include "middle shifts" whereby I could start anywhere up to 1030 and might be an option but right now the sooner I get in the sooner I can leave]... ( to be completed on the push bike) - key fob access = £25. New Chain = £30..?
- 8 late shifts = £1.90 x 16 = £30.40() ...this is a lot of money for 8 journeys on the bus. There is no option of "tickets" any more bought in advance (used to this when I first came to London for Uni).. so I would need cash available each time although I can buy a return but there is no price difference if just means I won't spend the change on sweeties...(kidding)...
My foodage isn't as bad as I thought it was. I still have precisely £46.48 in my current account (topped up with money from Travel Savings to leave and even £2k in there), only £19.98 on my CC ( two jumpers yesterday for £9.99 each) which can stay there for the moment and £122.11 in my paypal account.
I think Paypal will be used to make my life easier and the fee for my Passport that is to be paid next week and put on the CC. It will then be paid in full on March 31st as I am due OT from this month...
Does that make sense...? Phew..... Need a brew now ( of dandelion coffee - hmmmmmmmmmmmm)....:)“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Thanks everyone. I keep thinking about phoning in sick tonight as I do feel dreadful but its really only a cold so I feel like a fraud :-( I've taken more tablets and my head is banging.
I do take echinecea and took it when it started but it just makes a cold ramp up quicker and more severe on me for some reason!
NSK, I'm actually in pretty good health other than having a cold and depression and anxiety.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0
