Finally managed to snag another NSD yesterday. My shopping organisation hat seems to have gone totally squiffy this month! At least we're nearly halfway through the month.

To try to beat the 'meh'ness that comes, I've been thinking about 100 days from now. Late-ish May. What could be achieved by then, eh? Eating, exercise, craft, decluttering... My personal one is craft - make 100 items by the end of 100 days. I confess to adding in what I've already made so far, but am in the 20s so far. Many thanks to Habibiboo for the push to do this:).

Have been super slack as regards my gratitude, so I thought I'd start today off with being grateful for our hobtop coffee maker, working windscreen wipers, dh rigging up a lamp to keep pesky squirrel away, knitting patterns that are simple and enjoyable to make, and dd sleeping well despite having a rotten cough. And dh doing this morning's school run so I get an hour's extra chillout time.

    SFD 7/15
    Exercise 5/12
    Food Bank 0/£5.00
    Food £22.08/£180.00
    Petrol 0/£50
    Lunch To Work: 1/7
    Items decluttered 2/56

Managed a SFD yesterday - today won't be one as we need bread, milk and cat litter. I'll try and keep the spends down though and resist the Aldi bargains :D

I got my exercise yesterday but don't know about today as the weather here isn't too hot. We have it a lot better than the flooded folk though so I'm not moaning really ;)

This weekend I need to work on the decluttering as I'm running very behind with it all. More effort needed :D

    Morning!
Actually i don't feel that jolly, I have my first winter cold and I'm not coping with it at all! Spent most of the night coughing and blowing my nose, so today will no longer be a SFD as I need to get some night nurse or similar!

ETA: re decluttering I am aiming to fleabay at least 10 items a week. Doing well so far.

  • Morning been missing catching up, but busy week at work. Another sfd achieved yesterday. Decluttering going slowly again due to work but have made £60 in sales. However managed to remember packed lunches. So saved pennies there too.
Food shop done £66.95, various ys items purchased and was on full on bargain hunting mode. £15.09 spent on fuel.

I actually have money in my account still, which is a vast improvement on this time last year!

crazy lady - hope you don't get any more wet that you already are.

Thriftylass - when I switched my bank account I opened the account first then when I had finished there was a 'switch now' option and this asked for the bank details of my existing current account. I switched with Halifax btw.

I called them yesterday about my £100 and they are giving me £110 now and it should go in in the next couple of days.

    SFD here again today.

Sorry I am grumpy this morning (normal service will be resumed as soon as possible) and genuine sympathy for all those bearing the brunt of the weather but maybe my pitiful problems will give you a laugh.

I am so cross with DS1 at the moment (my mother used to grind her teeth - I think at moments of stress I sleep with a clenched jaw, with resulting pains in the morning).

The original plan was that furniture (DS1's but all stuff that was originally bought by me - his last 2 gfs took everything bought since he last lived under my roof) would be moved downstairs into the front room and hall on Thursday and Friday. Sometime at weekend ( didn't see him between 6.30am Friday and teatime Sunday) this was changed to Wednesday. So spent yesterday dealing with bits of paperwork - declaring a NSD as only spending was from overpaying the card I paid off and this was not deducted from total debt and some items were not for me and will be refunded - and then clearing the shelves and couch I have swopped/ said they can have 'for the time being'.

On Monday I asked DS1 to 'review his food' and was accused of trying to steal it. He cooks for himself and gf at weekends (I am not allowed in the kitchen whilst he is cooking although gf is allowed to stand there admiring him). He buys a load of yellow stickered stuff (good) but doesn't plan what he is doing and if they go out it stays in the fridge (my dairy/ fresh food has been living in the vestibul-itv) or the freezer (can't cook my diabetic cake or biscuits which have to be kept in the freezer due to lack of space and neither is as organised as I would like as he puts things in any available space).

He currently has 4 packs of ready made pasta and 3 of sliced meats (for lunches) 4 red peppers (mine are itv) fishcakes, diced beef, 2 bunches of spring onions, noodles, and 2 packs of bacon (1 a bit greenish) and some choc puddings. He did have some cream cheese but it had blue fuzzy spots, so I cut them off and used the rest. I was trying to tell him I had 2 unopened packs (itv) if he needed them. All except the pasta are yellow stickered. As Saturday is moving day (oh there's a huge lump of pork in the freezer - probably revenge because I made him take one out of the freezer before Christmas - my lamb, turkey and beef had all been cooked, sliced and packed in small quantities and took up less space than the pork) I just wondered what his plans for the food were (not waiting till it's 4 weeks ood before he says I can have it). Had rant yesterday to DS3 and he said I should use it all (also said I sounded like my mother and argument was going round in circles).

Yesterday evening DS1 was very reasonable. He explained his cooking plan (subtext I am probably not allowed back in the kitchen before Sunday unless he is out of the house and he wants to take one of the shelves out of the fridge so he can put all the boxed/cooked food in there - he brought 2 more carrier bags of stuff back with him). He also said if the little couch (the one that's staying) could move into the bay window - No he would do it, I wasn't to try then the rest of the room was free and if it would be okay to pile things up in the middle of the kitchen. Then he took food upstairs and didn't come down. I did venture up there later to ask about moving things but he just said he would do it.

I went back downstairs, moved the couch and my lamp into the bay window and a few things into the dining room (all my things are now on a small bookshelf, a small filing cabinet and half the little couch.

Now I may not be Zombie ready but last night I brought upstairs:-
a cup of water and filled 2 other bottles
banana, yoghurt and porridge oats, cheese spread and crispbread
    cutlery and a plate
my laptop, my library books, my accounts book and basic paperwork
    purse, pills and other essentials
and if I don't like the look of downstairs I am staying up here (got a bucket, as well) Especially not stuck in a corner of the bay window.

Just as I was ready to get in bed (I still had my boots on) DS1 emerged to ask about 'the wardrobe' (the one in pieces inside the bed I was about to get into) did I have all the pieces. He doesn't want the small wardrobe with no doors that is already put together (and the house they are moving into has 2 bedrooms with fitted wardrobes - but they still might not have enough space for all their clothes). So I said NO. Then he asked did I want anything from the SM as he was going to buy binbags and sticky labels - I didn't happen to have--- So stomped back down 2 flights of stairs and back again with the roll of sticky labels and got asked why I was acting so exasperated over being asked a simple little thing.Grr.

Sat in bed for 3 hours listening to the wind lifting and dropping my rooftiles hopefully back in the same place, (found a lovely de-cluttering thread) trying to think soothing yoga -like thoughts and not clench my jaw.Woke up early, unable to sleep, still tired and aching lots.

Ventured down to the bathroom to brush my teeth - no sign of anything moved, vague clunking sounds from downstairs (taking the bun feet off the couch). DS1 talking to me despite me saying Um-arm -um (I can't hear you because I am brushing my teeth - with a toothbrush in my mouth). Did the couch need cleaning - cleared, hand-swept, henried, wiped with cloths and polished ! Oh .. I only had Henry didn't I ( so glad I hid Henry under the dining room table so he didn't accidently fall into the van). Did I have any strong string /garden twine for tying up binbags/coathangers? In the bag you gave me, it's in the middle of the dining room table (may look like chaos but I know where everything is) Oh well if you happen to come across it (just told you exactly where it is).

So I am back up here and I am staying up here (think it is late night working so he will be gone by lunch time). And tomorrow I have a 9am appointment and it's my day for going to my mother's so if that's his day off I will leave him to it. Just smile sweetly and think about Sunday.

So my question is ... I have never believed in hitting children. Is it too late to start when they are nearly 29.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Phoned Halifax up this morning. And yes there was no switch started as they never asked for my old details despite going through the right link. Forgot to make that more of a point to get a bit more than the £100 too  but heyho, as long as I get that at some point. Set it all up over the phone now with that very friendly customer service guy and will start the switch on Monday (just want to wait that any recent purchases are registered on my card).

Today will be an SFD and I will see the midwife again today. Birthday tomorrow and OH will cook sth nice for dinner. Not doing anything else tomorrow but will just go for lunch with a few pals on Saturday. Can't fit a full dinner in my tummy anymore and wanted to avoid watching everybody having a few drinks on my birthday but me, bahumbug.

  • Morning all,
SFD planned today - working from home - we had a snow shower this morning - praying for some sun to dry up all the rain on blighty!!

Have been de-friended on FB by a "friend" who lives local - ok when I mentioned some more sun would be nice and she requested snow I may have suggested she tried the Olympics - being defriended seems extreme!! I know I know, real friends, no great loss etc etc but its mildly irritating!! At one point we were quite close but I began to realise that I was expected to revolve around and when I stopped she moved on so to speak. Anyway, sure I will get over it :D

I have also tackled the cupboard of doom - it is possible that DH will be able to empty the boot of his car for the first time in months - you guessed it - straight into the cupboard of doom :D

MrsGSR - hope you feel better soon
Crazylady - hope the waters havent got any worse for you!!
Mothernerd - you have more patience in your little finger than I would have had in my entire body!!

Right work to do - tomorrow will be packing, dog to kennels, some junk/I mean quality merchandise to charity shop and cleaning the house in case any smuck wants to look at house while we are out! On the plus note there is something now on the market which might be worth a look if we do sell ours - its the If thats the problem!!

    Love to all

So I have been thinking. I need to sort out my silliness in the morning as this is killing me. I got up at 0400 then thought better of it, Mog joined me in bed and we got another hours kip. Then I thought I could go in a bit later and managed to stay there until 0600 and still get to work in good time. :o..but in the long run, seeing as I will be doing this for 8 more months I need to make my life easier.

The bike is number one priority. Need to get my tyres fixed asap and the chain probably replaced. I "might" have left it out in the rain for a very long time. This will cut off at least 30 minutes from my journey time tot the train station although in the rain I am going to end up soaked unless I wear a balaclava..

The £25 (cash) key fob is next. Finding the cash might be hard...:rotfl:

A nice coat, shoes and bag that can be left at work is next. I come to work looking like a backpacker, go to meetings in a hiking jacket, wear ballet flats all day as they are the easiest thing to carry and generaly feel unattractive..

Then I need to sort out easy outfits. The best by far is a dress. Easy with tights, takes up no room in my rucksack and it the general "uniform" for the other girls in the office. The issue. I only have one. :(:(:(

So I went to Tesco's today to buy some blister plasters (muchus needed) and had to buy the good old expensive ones that everyone swears by. I was a little glum about this and paid for them in cash but then found a £5 receipt voucher at the till...:T:T:T..I must admit I got the shakes pocketing it and felt super guilty but I took it! Mwah ha ha ha haaaaaa!

So with £5.50 in clubcard vouchers, £5 from today and £4.02 from last week I am going to have enough soon to buy a Tesco dress that I spotte for £25 that should last a while..:j:j:j

Work is nearly done here for the day and I am off to meet a friend for wanderings around town but am so tired it will be a short one!

Hope everybody is dry and warm...
