Phew! Just did a VERY hot half an hour on the stair climber thing in the gym - which brings my average gym session cost down to £7.61 :j :j Starting to get down towards reasonable figures now! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Another 15 sessions and it will have paid for itself (theoretically, although that's worked out using the cost for a peak time class as gym doesn't have pay as you go option)

But you know what I mean :D :rotfl:
  • Very good on the cost per use!! Bootcamp was cancelled tonight, and instead of doing a HIIT session at home I've decided to have a rest day :o
I did pretty Muddy at Worcester on Saturday and then just over 5 miles yesterday.. Training for the Bristol half has started  !!!
    LBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go :o

Well, I was tempted to sack it off completely tonight as it was SO hot, but instead I just spent 20 minutes doing a bit more on a job Mr Cheery started earlier - filling the nail holes in the bathroom cladding and painting with primer. Another wall done, so one less thing to do tomorrow! :j Suppose I could have gone round the whole bathroom, but, well, that would have meant moving the cupboards and dust sheets and everything and, well, I, er, couldn't be bothered :o :rotfl: :D

Been visiting my old job today, very jolly to see everyone and travel in with old office mate :j :j I set up in my old office too so it was just like the old days :rotfl: Mind you, NOT been a cheap day  This trip isn't covered by expenses, so £26 of travel  I don't miss that twice a week AT ALL  Also we ended up having tea on the train, going out for lunch, and having a drink and an ice cream on the way home so that was another £11 spent too

Glad that doesn't happen very often!!

Oh, and I got SIX £2 coins this morning, before 8am! Obviously I never spent them, which meant I completely ran out of cash :rotfl:

Oh, and a stupid thing I did the other day :o Cleaned some brushes with white spirit and a cloth, and then threw the cloth in the washing machine, and then threw a load of washing in on top. DON'T EVER DO THAT. I'm sure you wouldn't - you're all far more sensible than me, but just in case, let that be a warning. Washing has been through twice now and the whole lot (bedding, shirts, knickers) smells of white spirit

Didn't look at the internet til it had already been through twice, and then I discovered that it's NEVER going to come out with washing (of course, when you think about it), so I've had to get everything hung up in the attic to dry and let the smell evaporate, then I've got to find the white vinegar (where on earth is it??) to run through the washing machine, then probably run the clothes through again. Gah! Can't wait til I've got a garden and a WASHING LINE :rotfl:

    Idiot :o :rotfl: :o :rotfl:

Oh my word! Talk about the good and the bad! Lovely trip, awful white spirit misadventure! I know what you mean about a washing line - I love my washing line dearly, its just extendible poles from Wilko hammered into the ground in those "container" spikes, and a £1 nylon line, with pegs I've had for about a million years - but its great, it really is. I *have* had to hammer the spikes further in - they didn't go in all the way the first time, but thats me, not the spikes :rotfl:

Glad you enjoyed your old job day and especially that the camaraderie was still alive and well.

I tossed my oil polish rag in with the towels once and that was not a good thing. Oil spotted lemony smelling towels. I used powdered dish washing detergent in several several wash cycles to get it out. That type detergent works on oily residue. Sheesh! Did I feel dumb!

I also grabbed the bleach bottle once instead of the vinegar to add 1Tb to a cake I was making. It was my daughter's Bday and so lots of guests. It tasted exactly like bleach! :wall:
That one still gets talked about! :o :rotfl:

Here's to mistakes! May they be few and far between!

It was awful! The cake had turned out to be just beautiful. Red velvet and everyone was looking forward to having a slice...especially the birthday girl who had requested it. The look on their faces! I didn't know what was wrong because I was still serving. :rotfl::rotfl:

    re the smelly laundry
wash in machine in vinegar no soap just put about 2 cups of vinegar direct into drum then put in clothes into the machine and wash - a quick wash is fine (I have a 15 minute one on my machine).
Then add one cup of bicarbonate of soda to the soap drawer and do another wash with vinegar in the fabric softner hole/compartment.
If you have the option to have extra water in the rinses then do that. The washes don't need to be long or hot - 30°C is fine.
Can't you tell I had washable nappies when my two were little?
    Hope this might help.

:rotfl: Mila I'm still laughing about your bleach cake :rotfl: I'm surprised it stayed red with all that bleach in it! :rotfl:

Thanks for the washing machine tip FA! :j I hung everything up regardless with the windows open (on the advice of an MSE thread) and YAY - the smell has gone! At least I can't smell it any more :rotfl:

And I found the white vinegar :j so I threw a load in the wash, and put it on 'freshen up'.

That was several hours ago, and I only just remembered :o Also remembered why I don't use the 'freshen up' setting - the blithering thing is so old that you have to 'turn it on a click' to get it to drain, which I have only just done :rotfl:

This is why I always use the normal 30 degree setting (which takes nearly 2 hours  )

But, like everything else in this house, it's not getting replaced til the damn thing actually breaks :rotfl:

Finished plastering the bathroom tonight :j :j Seem to have spent all the money saved by doing my own plastering on lunches over the last few days  It's just been so darn sunny and I'm not that busy at work right now so I keep meeting folks for lunch :o:o Got another one tomorrow - aarrggghh! :rotfl:

Fortunately I'm off next week so will be able to eat nothing but soup :D
